I never even considered focusing on lifting up rather than pressing down. I can't wait to practice with this new thought process in mind. Thank you for your excellent videos!
Hi, your videos provide so much value. I’m learning sicilienne with trills! And your the study of young cellist (loved the fart sound here!) series is fantastic, it’s helping me so much. Thank you. Best wishes
This video is transformative! Not just for trills but articulation generally - defined but light. It has made an instant difference in my cello playing, has made my left hand feel lighter and less tense. And the tone is better as well as a result! Thank you!!!!
Hi Ilia many thanks for this lesson on how to execute a good trill. Would you be able to show how a trill is played in a piece for example Ariso JS Bach? I became a little confused as to how trill’s should be played when they show up in a piece? My teacher advised me not to play them 😢 as they caused me confusion..Many Thanks Caroline

Thank you so much! Makes my day when I read I can help you out! Have fun with Sicilliene! Best wishes!
Great, I got it!!!! It's really nice to follow your explanations. Thank you 🤗
You're an excellent teacher. (And that "The Price Is Right" reference...bravo.)
Thank you! 🙏🏻
MUITO BOM. AJUDOU BASTANTE. GRATO
De nada! Obrigado por assistir!
Very helpful video. Focusing more attention on the finger playing the main note of the trill, not the oscillating finger, also helps.
Tried it out and I think, it improved me trills quickly 🙂
Wow! That’s great to know that it’s already improving! 😃

I remember being told to treat it like it’s hot. 🔥
That’s also a great alternative 🔥
AWESOME!!! (I emailed you a short video re. trilling) Hope you enjoy!
Is it only me or is 3-4 finger trill just plain not fun?
