Serial Designation N Vs Penny Polendina (Murder Drones Vs. RWBY)

  • Both combatants are comically friendly and perky robots from popular (and very dark) web shows from big web animation studios (Glitch Productions and RoosterTeeth). Both are made for hunting in a sense, display surprising amounts of organic behaviour (Saliva in N's case while Penny was imbued with her father's aura) as well as sentience, and are incredibly strong.
Both combatants formed close and very unplatonic bonds with short-haired girls (Uzi / V and Ruby) who have a thing for blades and guns. Both also died multiple times (N was a Zombie Drone that Tessa found, then got his head blown off by Uzi; Penny died in the Vytal Tournament then sacrificed her life in Atlas). The two have blades and lasers as part of their arsenals, have parental figures that they care deeply for (Tessa Elliot and Pietro Polendina), and had higher authoritarian figures that they eventually turned against upon realizing how far off the edge they were (Serial Designation J and General Ironwood). The two also struggled with an evil force trying to control them (The Absolute Solver and Arthur Watts).
Interestingly, Murder Drones adapts a lot of common horror tropes (Vampires, zombies, slasher movies, cosmic horror) into a sci-fi setting while RWBY is loaded with fairytale and mythical motifs (Penny herself being based on Pinocchio). What's more, Penny is a Huntress who fights monsters (Creatures of Grimm), while Disassembly Drones like N are basically robot vampires. So this fight boils down to a Vampire against a Monster Hunter. Both also appear in chibi form in Glitch Inn and RWBY Chibi respectively.
Murder Drones belongs to Liam Vickers, Glitch Productions
    RWBY Belongs to Viz Media
Death Battle Belongs to Death Battle

I once had a similar idea with these characters, but instead of fighting they just ended up snuggling with puppies.

Okay, time for an overly serious analysis of these two adorable little robots who are very capable of murdering things (it's also been a hot minute since I've watched RWBY, so if there are any inaccuracies let me know).
Let's assume that this is V2 Penny Polendina (pre-Maiden, as the Maiden Powers are a massive power boost that is also not entirely explained beyond 'flight and elemental projectiles'). She is the first artificial intelligence with an artificial body that is capable of manifesting Aura, an extension of one's soul that acts as both a shield and a physical enhancement. She has various inbuilt weapons, the most notable of which are an array of telekinetic blades that can manifest a massive laser blast after a brief charge-up period. Her mobility is enhanced by thrusters and mechanically-increased strength, and her durability is quite high thanks to her metal body. Her typical combat style seems to revolve around rapid engagement and area control, utilizing her mobility and sword array to suppress her enemies regardless of their numbers. Her laser blast seems to be used as an ace up the sleeve, so to speak, and isn't often deployed. Her combat awareness is enhanced by thermal and night vision, but generally seems to be marginally above that of a normal human, and her overall application of skills/powers is as creatively bankrupt as everyone else in RWBY (most of the fights are basically just the characters clashing weapons together and auras blocking damage until the plot decides to forget about them, much to my infinite displeasure; that is a different rant for a different time, though). Overall: Penny is a powerful and unorthodox fighter who isn't exactly a pushover to bring down (unless your name is Pyrrha or Watts).
Serial Designation N is a Disassembly Drone created by the rogue artificial intelligence Cyn with the intent of inflicting mass genocide on humans and drones alike. He is a biomechanical construct partially empowered by the Absolute Solver, a mutated program capable of repairing extensive amounts of damage at the cost of burning in sunlight and needing to consume excessive amounts of Oil to prevent himself from overheating. His arms are outfitted with Iris Doors that likely house some form of nanobot-assembly complex, which can transform his hands into a wide variety of tools at any given time (including but not limited to normal hands, claws, automatic rifles, missile launchers, lasers, chainsaws, and swords). N also has a tail tipped with a Nanite Acid stinger that can only be disabled by his saliva. He is fairly mobile, and is equipped with bladed wings that seem to propel him through the air with some form of anti-grav tech (while also acting as both offensive and defensive equipment, as the blades are incredibly sharp yet can withstand a considerable amount of trauma). His physical strength is shockingly high, capable of prying large hydraulic bunker doors apart and flinging a worker drone from the ground and into the atmosphere. His combat style (when alone, that is) can only be described as cautiously reckless, as he tends to frequently alternate between keeping his distance with ranged weaponry and closing the gap to shred his enemies to pieces. His combat awareness is *extremely* enhanced, as he has a band of 5 eyes on his forehead (each capable of different forms of sight, such as x-ray and infrared according to concept art) that allow him to maintain awareness of his surroundings at all times (whether or not he is particularly *good* at that is up for debate, though, as he is frequently taken off guard throughout the course of the show). His application of his skillset and powers is very creative, as he is more than willing to injure or humiliate himself to catch his opponent by surprise (licking V's sword, for example). Overall: N is an *extremely* mobile and versatile fighter with substantial regenerative capabilities.
In order for them to have a fair fight, the battle would have to take place at night (presumably in a city area). They would exchange a few lines before engaging, ensuring that neither is taken off-guard. Each would be aware that the other is mechanical, and as such would not be holding back.
As for the victor? Penny, but *only* because of her aura. Without it, she and N would shred each other (both have far more firepower than they do durability) and N would be the only one walking away once his body healed itself. With it, her durability exceeds the damage that N can reliably dish out before Penny renders him immobile. N could feasibly win if he either managed to survive long enough for Penny's aura to drop or was able to disable it before the fight got into full swing (without the aura shielding his target, all he would need is a single well-placed sting to finish the job), but this would require the fight somehow being tilted in his favor. It would be one hell of a fight, and once both were repaired/rebuilt I could see them being pretty good friends :)
Overall, an excellent choice for a Death Battle! It's certainly one of the more even ones I've seen, and I had fun writing all this :D

@@shakarnagent5060 I still believe that n would be able to do enough damage to Penny's aura in order to almost make it a non factor due to his strength but I don't really have a good way of knowing exactly how much damage penny's aura can handle since aura shields seem to be inconsistent in the show nor how much strength n really has
      🤔🫡🤷🏻
In the end it could very well be up to interpretation

    • @shakarnagent5060
      @shakarnagent5060 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@axhgro28 You are entirely correct with the Aura being inconsistent. As I said, the show seems to pick and choose how strong it is or even how it works, which makes powerscaling a massive pain.
Another thing (that I should have mentioned above) is that N seems to be at his best when he's with a group (it can be argued that the entire theme of the show is "stronger together"). He has pretty strong regen, but he still needs time to heal from particularly gruesome wounds (like losing limbs).
When push comes to shove, we know roughly about how much punishment N can take. Penny, on the other hand, has tanked some pretty nasty hits and falls with her Aura, yet it kinda just fails her whenever the plot demands it. As such, I would give her the win simply due to her being able to ignore damage while N still has to regenerate from it, even if he can do so quickly. If N loses an arm, which is entirely possible due to how sharp Penny's *many* swords are, he's going to be at a heavy disadvantage while Penny will be safe behind her Aura (without it, such wounds would cripple her).
Just my thoughts on the matter. You made a good point, though, as N could probably win if he ambushed her instead of dueling her in the streets.
Also, sorry for typos. My phone is bugging out HARD while I type.

And as for the whole seeking up on Penny thing I don't like that, this is supposed to be a fair 1v1 but I guess that in hindsight N wouldn't be able to get close enough times to take penny out before his core gets destroyed even by accident with how Manny attacks penny can do and considering that they start the battle both from a fair distance her aura can be inconsistent but in the end it would at the very least be able to withstand a attack and for N to get that attack in at all would have been a lot of work

@Urbance2882 I'll be honest, I have no idea what you just said, and to be quite frank I don't think you know what you just said either. If I had to guess...
"Penny is slower than N because she's slower than the speed of sound and N can regenerate anything he loses to her," yes?
Well, for starters, I'm fairly certain Penny CAN break the sound barrier. N... might be able to? I'm not sure if he can, to be totally honest.
As for his regeneration, I'm afraid you're forgetting that durability and sustainability are two completely different things. N can heal basically all but the most grievous of wounds, the issue is that he takes damage very easily. If Penny severs a limb, he'll need time to regrow it and will be handicapped until he does. If Penny severs his head, he's out of commission until he gets it back. If his core is damaged/destroyed, he's basically dead.
N could feasibly beat Penny since he's likely stronger and more agile, but Penny has a lot of room to make mistakes thanks to her Aura. N, on the other hand, is going to suffer for every good hit she lands on him, and all it takes is losing his head or core for him to be out of the fight (though, to be fair, decapitation and disembowelment are injuries that usually kill someone, so N being able to walk it off given time is quite a feat).

One of n's best shows of strength feats tbh, right next to keeping door one open with one arm and then pushing it back with both in the pilot

  • @axhgro28
    @axhgro28 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

(Spoiler warning for both shows probably)
In my opinion is say n wins, he has shown to have more physical strength than penny, has a biger arsenal, nanite acid that he doesn't have to switch his main weapons for in order to use, and can regenerate unless his core is destroyed
I do believe that penny would win the long to mid range battle if she manages to keep her distance with n by using her smaler lazer blasters and knives but once n gets close enough to punch her or stab her woth his claws or swords its over as she cant regenerate and her aura can only take so much
Of course, this is considering we are using non winter maiden penny,
If we are to use her with the maiden powers she would solo
Edit: I have since then changed my mind and now think penny would win in all situations and not just from a far, being able to do way more damage to n as he tries to get closer only for when if he does ever gets close her aura to at the very least be able to withstand one attack before pushing n away or backing off and having n go through a whole gauntlet of attacks for a second time
I think that it is very likely that penny, even without knowing, could be able to accidentally destroy his core with one of those Manny attacks

@@pandaken4239 To be honest, it's for the best that Maiden Powers aren't considered as they are not only really powerful, they are also pretty undefined.
One on one, the Maiden Powers will body anyone from Murder Drones who isn't capable of using the Solver (Solver easily outmatches Maiden Powers, though, and that's just assuming it can't interact with the Maiden and therefore can't telekinetically crush them into a pulp). I'd say 2-vs-1 is probably about as fair as you could get, but even then it highly depends on who N has fighting with him (V he would win, J he would lose). The full trio would absolutely wreck Maiden Penny, though, if only due to how fast they are and how much damage they can dish out.
So... yeah. It is in my opinion (that you can feel free to ignore, I'm not narcissistic enough to believe my internet opinion is inherently better than someone else's) that the Maiden powers are best left out of the fight between N and Penny after she's been rebuilt.
Seeing the Trio vs Penny *would* be quite the spectacular fight, though :)
