I recently replayed through City and it made me want to make this :)

I love all of the subtle hints that there were 2 Jokers. One that comes to mind that I don’t see many people talk about is when ClayJoker references Lost in Arkham City, the real Joker coughs while the camera shakes
I also don't see many people talk about the ending being foreshadowed in the church (maybe people talk about idk, credit goes to Batman Arkham Videos for finding it out). When you go to the top of the church and scan the sniper rifle, the Joker TV statues from Asylum turn on and you hear Joker saying that you left him to die. Then he tells you about the bombs planted on the roof and counts down from 5. If you wait till the countdown reaches 0 instead of immediately diving out through the window, Joker pretty much spoils the ending for you.

Yea and it was actually kinda unmissable but on my first play through I completely missed them. Like the safe in the gcpd building where there’s a joker card and a picture of it I was just confused and brushed it off.
There are a litany of foreshadowing elements within the game, and they all really pay off once it’s revealed with Monarch Theater

1) In Arkham City, just as you enter the Loading Bay via vents from the main furnace in the Steel Mill, you can overhear an inmate saying “Yeah, Joker wants you to think he’s sick, then bam! Gotcha.” This dialogue foreshadows Joker’s supposed faking of his illness.
2) In Arkham City, Joker says “You fell for the old fake-Joker gag, Batman!” This foreshadows the fact Joker used Clayface as a doppelgänger to hide his illness.
3) In Arkham City, when you’re on your way to confront Joker just before Protocol 10, you come across a video that shows Joker in perfect health. However, there is the faint noise of coughing in the background, reinforcing the idea of Joker using a doppelgänger to hide his health.
4) In Arkham City, Azrael speaks of Batman being the one to close the Gates of Hell (Arkham City), and how he is the one who will save the day, but in doing so, events will occur that Batman can’t stop, and “from the ashes of Arkham, the fires will rage, and Gotham will burn,” and Batman will burn too, foreshadowing the whole plot of Arkham Knight.
5) In Arkham Origins, Shiva’s tapes with Bane and Quincy Sharp foreshadow Ras al Ghul’s plan to create Arkham City, which requires the reopening of Arkham Asylum.
I didn’t know about the shiva one that’s cool I always learn something new about this series everyday and I’ve been playing since 2011

There's also a foreshadow moment in City when u go the church to find the remote sniper! If u don't immediately jump out the window when joker gives you the countdown, he starts to reflect and basically foreshadow the end of the game

SPOILERS FOR ARKHAM KNIGHT: I noticed that in Knight, when Batman confronts Scarecrow inside the airship, and doses him with fear toxin, Scarecrow wonders what Batman is seeing, and says "what can you see? A city engulfed in fear? Betrayed by those you trust the most? Your darkest secrets revealed?" foreshadowing the Cloudburst covering Gotham with fear toxin, Gordon apparently betraying Batman in order to save Barbara, and Batman' identity being revealed live on tv.
I love the little details and foreshadowing in these game it's really impressive

When Barbara shoots herself in knight the hallucination joker picks up the apparent real gun she uses this shows right from the bat that Barbara isnt dead

Honestly Rocksteady should've embraced the fact that Jason was the Arkham Knight, and presenting it as some kind of Under the Red Hood adaptation while being a sequel to AC, it would have reduce some critics about the story. I mean, the Under the Red Hood movie didn't have to pretend the viewer wouldn't know who Jason was and act like the plot twist was a suprise but the characters still had to resolve that mistery and it worked pretty well
When Tim doesn't want to be around Batman, you know he has screwed up. I mean, he literally just figured out his identity, who the other Bat Family members were, just to be his sidekick so that he didn't get super depressed and quit because of Jason.

City has my favorite ones, I remember feeling really cool when I originally played the game and solved the cipher. City has my favorite foreshadowing moments imo, they’re subtle enough but pay off really well where Knight personally felt like it was hitting me over the head.
I feel like knight needed to have more drama and emotion to it instead of trying to hide the fact that Jason is the Arkham Knight cuz it was clearly obvious from the start.
I'm shocked you didn't mention the Duality of Man painting foreshadowing Joker's death at the beginning of Arkham City.

One pretty obscure voice clip that foreshadows the end of Arkham night that I love is if you avoid taking on the side quest as much as possible until you’ve defeated scarecrow the dialogue for when you collect two-face and penguin is different. No comment on the fact that they now know you’re Bruce Wayne. The one that’s the most interesting is the penguin’s remarks where he says Batman should be looking for a new costume. Which Batman response to this by saying “You’ll see.”
This foreshadows the nightmare Batman you see if you get the true ending of the game, further supporting the idea that the nightmare Batman is Bruce Wayne continuing his work as the dark Knight even after his alleged death.

That’s one of the things are so damn awesome about the Arkham games. If you come back years later when your much more wise, and intelligent you notice all these little Easter eggs and little details that are so damn good and interesting. And even like you said Jay foreshadows future games and events. Great vid as always Jay 👌👌👌😎
I love the arkham knights voice tapes or whatever their called of scarecrow interogateing barbara and Jason coming in after making sure she was okay and talking to her and showing her who he was, he even asked how alfred was doing and it seemed like he was gonna change, until scarecrow came in and said something about the cloudburst, even then Jason said that if anyone even lays a finger on Barbara he would kill them

Giving credit to arkham knight, when that predictable reveal did come. I was still invested in seeing just how torn Jason was. I especially like when batman says
"Stand down Robin!". I admit, that got me a good bit.
Also I’m Arkham city if you stay in the bell tower before it explodes and wait for joker to count down you can get some heavy foreshadowing or the end of the game
I think doc ock in Spider-Man ps4 has some great foreshadowing in the game his first shot he has four big wires behind him like the arms
In the german dub of the Arkham Games, they hired for Jason Todd/Akrham Knight, the same german voice actor, who voices Jensen Ackels. Who also voiced him in Under the Red Hood.
As soon as the Arkham Knight talked, i knew it right away.

Everyone hates on Arkham Knight sorry, but what about those who played the game blind, not knowing the comic story, not having watched Under the Red Hood, not knowing who Jason Todd was?
If you look at it from that perspective, it’s not a bad story. People hate on it too much.
yeah i played the game without knowing anything about jason todd and the reveal was really cool for me and it's what got me into the comics

Throughout the game, you can see the inmates talking about the Joker being really sick (a phrase from one of these dialogues is used in the final revelation) and about him being suddenly cured during the final stretch of the game, the call you receive from Joker you receive when you arrive at the Museum for the first time and in the fight at the fun house you see that the Joker has no bones (since that is Clayface)
Not to mention the many references of Clayface in the game
Even the graphic novel explains both how and why Jason Todd became the Arkham Knight in the first place
I personally don't care about the Jason Todd reveal being as obvious as it was; for me knowing that storyline, it made me excited to see their confrontation every time Arkham Knight said or did something that revealed it.
If I had to be critical, it would have been nice to have his name dropped once or twice in the prior games, cause as soon as Joker mentioned it, the name drop itself felt a bit out of nowhere. Like in Asylum, when Joker is daring Batman to kill him; I could have done with a line to the effect of "Do it Batman! Do it for Gordon and his daughter, do it for Jason, do it for Gotham and all the stupid, boring innocent lives I'm going to take if you don't."
In reality it's probably just that they didn't think to bring in the Jason Todd storyline until after they'd released the first two games, but it's really just a nitpick for me.

I liked the end of Arkham Asylum where Joker makes a joke about not wanting to live before shooting himself with the Titan formula, be it foreshadowing or dramatic irony that moment did actually cause his eventual death
The fact that this franchise (not counting you, Suicide Squad) both begins and ends with a character being wheeled into Arkham Asylum is pretty brilliant.
Once you use detective mode in the start you can see that clayface joker has no bones. Amazing Video and i found thing with detctive mode in some video so just wanted say didnt i didnt find on my own or anything.
When joker tells Batman that he destroyed his cure, I don't think he's talking about it falling on the ground an breaking.. I think he's talking about when Batman "wasted it" on himself in Asylum
One important detail. Work started on Knight before work started on Origins. Which is why Origins needed an all new staff.

11:09 the movie "batman: assault on Arkham" is actually Canon to the Arkhamverse as well yet king shark died in that movie, his head was blown up by waller yet they never explain how he's back. I heard something about the king shark in suicide squad kill the justice league being "kid shark" the son of king shark but I'm not sure if that's true
I though kid shark was also killed by the Arkham knight in on of the comics related to the series though

10:34 actually something involving suicide squad did happen, the assault on Arkham animated film. It's canon, at least was canon until the new suicide squad game (that contradicts a lot of things in the Arkham series, a big one being the king shark that was shown in the assault on Arkham) but, like it or not, before this game there was this movie involving the suicide squad as well.
I think the joker twist in city overshadows the fact the parallels between wonder city and Arkham city throughout the game and especially in the trails of the demon totally set up Ra’s as being the master mind behind Arkham city, same as he was behind Wonder city unless them using the same voice actor for its announcer and Ras was a coincidence which given the details regarding calendar man I highly doubt

In regards to the Suicide Squad tease at the end of Origins, that did sort of culminate into the animated Batman: Assault on Arkham movie, although it seems Rocksteady doesn't view it as canon (cough, cough, King Shark, cough)
12:00 and joker not being cured is also teased in the clay face joker fight, right before protocol ten… the mirror, it’s not actually a mirror it’s just glass, it was joker and clay face performing…
You can tell that this is right because if you get into the fight, freeze clay face joker and use the line launcher, then look at the “mirror” it just a wall with a DOOR.
I never noticed the discussion between Harley and Joker since I usually left the room too fast I guess

For the last one for joker there is another big one! When “joker” talks about being cured and references the finale of Lost listen real close u can actually hear two coughs with the camera shaking per cough. Another foreshadow

Deathstroke's suicide squad scene did lead to assault on Arkham movie events tho

There also in asylum where if you blow up a certain wall in the wardens office I think you can see the schematics for Arkham city

It's not uncommon that game companies star working on other projects when finalizing their previous so they were probably making early drafts for Arkham Knight during City
In Arkham Knight, if you look on the character bio page and compare the bios of Jason Todd and the Arkham Knight their Weight and Height is the exact same - not a coincidence obviously because they're the same person

Another example, while it may be on the more obvious side, regards Ace Chemicals. In Origins it is heavily implied that it was there where the Joker was born in this universe. In Arkham Knight, the Joker in Batman's mind is born in Ace Chemicals

Despite what people say Arkham Origins heavily foreshadowed the end of the Arkham series.
Still think the suicide squad game should have been set separate from the arkham verse since the character portrayal seems too different.
