My parents, siblings, grandmother and I stayed in this hotel in 1964 when we moved to Bunkie. I was a teenager and loved the old building. The glass transoms above the doors were awesome to me. We opened them to let fresh air flow through the rooms but you could hear everything and everyone out in the hall. It was before any renovations were made and had the creeky old charm of bead board walls. Loved it.
My home town of Bunkie. Had my wedding rehearsal supper there in 2002. Lived just a few blocks away and the bands were kicking! Thanks for the video and spot lighting the Hotel.
My uncle had his wedding reception there about 43 years ago. I was the ring bearer, and I remember that motel very well. Running up and down the stairs all of us did
Was literally watching one of your beef jerky videos of 3 years ago and thought "boy just a little recording nothing much here" then clicked on your channel and now it looks like u progressed alot! I'm subscribing
Such a beautiful place so sad that vandals have to destroy everything. Thanks for the tour, hon. Happy New Year to you and yours and look forward to your 2021 videos. God bless!
I love videos like this! I love to envision abandoned historical structures alive w staff and guests hustling about like they did a century ago. (Not unlike the scene at the end of Titanic.... i know, im sentimental) 😂 I agree w you that is such a sad thing when old hotels... old anything close their doors forever. The brick wall, stained glass window, staircase... all of it. Not to mention the4 post beds, oversized bathrooms and somewhat opulent decor in general. Historical beauty is something that should be treasured and remembered. Slowly it’s being abandoned & left in ruin. Without videos like yours, I fear, it will all be forgotten. Thank you so very much for sharing. What a bittersweet treat to look into the past!
woah! That place is amazing! I can just see the hustle and bustle of that beautiful hotel 100 years ago! Thanks for taking us Deej! You be careful walking around those places!
Enjoyed this video, great way of showing before and after. I love exploring but these days you find yourself unsure if you can or cannot. Thanks for sharing.
This is the best looking abandoned place I have seen in a long time. Vandals have not found it yet since there is no graffiti. I wish someone would rescue and restore its glory. Yes we can tear things down but it is much better to build them up again. Thank you Noladeej for sharing your discoveries with us. May you and your family have a HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🙂
Rather interesting find and explore. And the fans were in great shape... lol. That room with the wood floor that's completely damaged was a great photo opportunity. Another great video deej
The upstairs sort of creeped me out. I'm sure in its hey day it was a fabulous place. I bet there have been a lot of good times had there. Thanks for the tour. Great work.
Thank you for sharing another amazing story and video! It's sad how they won't use these abandoned buildings for something useful! Too bad they don't make them into homes for people who are struggling! Very beautiful hotel! Happy New Year NOLADEEJ and family! Stay safe. God bless.
What a beautiful place! I hope somebody will bring it back to life. Thank you for all adventures you have taken us past year. Can't wait for new ones 😁! Happy 2021! 🥳🎉💜
Interesting property. I think your assessment is spot on regarding water damages. Sad to see a property this large rotting away. I hope it returns to service someday. If not it should be demolished so that the land can be reused. Happy New Year's Eve to you and family my friend. May 2021 be better for all of us.
Nice vlog Deej! I felt kind of creeped out watching it especially with the music. Looked like a nice place to stay. I was waiting for something or someone to jump in front of you. lol
Pretty cool hotel. The building itself very odd in design and realized new buildings have been added over the years. Personally the renovations actually ruined it. The rooms look very disportioned when they changed the walls around. Especially the bathrooms. I am willing to bet the original rooms didn't have walls for the bathrooms. Everything is open which would have been fine. A half height wall for the toilet to provide privacy. I would have loved to see the original polished hardwood floors everywhere. Hopefully somebody will buy it and start it over to bring it back to it's original roots.
@@NOLADEEJ come back anytime. Could give you the whole story and old photos to go with it! Could also show you some more of our old businesses, like my father’s music store across the tracks.
the town isn’t what it used to be. When they closed stores in town it started going downhill but it’s showing some potential again. It’s definitely small town america ❤️
Thankyou !!!! I stayed there about 4years ago.....they said its an old infant asylum...it was extremely creepy to me the 2nd night I stayed there because something kept moving the blankets off of me and then the bathroom door would shut on its own and open back up! I do believe its closed now though . To know the history of it would be amazing!!!!!

Yeah I was honestly surprised to see it mostly intact!
My dad built this when we were renovating it! Always loved that feature. We used to play music videos and sports games.
Thanks for taking us along , enjoyed very much .
Thank you!
It's really sad that so many of these old buildings are just left to rot. Thanks for another great video Deej! Happy New Year🎊🎈🎉❤
It really is sad, especially considering the history behind them.

Yeah I bet this place was hopping at one point. Always strange to think about the people that were there before me.
The creaky doors made my blood run cold. This was a very creepy explore! 😮Jenn
Thanks for the tour, mate.
Thanks for watching 😊
I love your videos
Thanks for the tour, any feeling of not bring alone when upstairs?
It definitely felt different inside the whole place.
Great find! Hopefully the stained glass is still intact and in good hands.
I tried finding out info about it but couldn't seem to have any luck.
Beautiful old building such a shame to see it in such disrepair
I agree, it should be restored
*Loved this!* ☺
Thanks so much!!
I would luv to go explore places like that
I love seeing those old places

Man I really want to go inside! You see about the time you went if not 4 years ago I went ontop the front steps and did a spirit box reading!

This is the Bailey Hotel in Bunkie, Louisiana. I live in the town.
@@sierraball444 I knew it looked familiar thanks!
I thought maybe it was the hotel in Bunkie.
Thanks for the vid. I HATE to see an old building to go waste. I guess it happens for a reason though.

Breaks my heart how Americans waste and not recycle these beautiful buildings.

I didn't find it to be creepy. It has great potential.

I would guess this is on the Jefferson Highway
this is in Bunkie Louisiana, my house is down the street, lots and lots of history in Bunkie
Do you get permission to go in these places ?
I usually try to get permission, yes
Sounds haunted with some of those doors.
Haha yeah it does!
It LOOKS structurally sound? Pray someone saves it from the wrecker Ball...
It seemed sound, I hope it gets a makeover one day
Meant to add vandals and time destroying everything.
I'm surprise that I didn't see any graffiti.
