@@LouisLuzuka Hey, sorry i cant really help too much as i dont shoot with the EOS M anymore but if youre having any problem drop a comment and i could help you out possibly!
Hi. Thank you for this video. I bought an EOS M for video this week. I updated the firmware to 2.03. I can`t find a download for Magic Lantern that works with the update, even though the update is pretty old. Any ideas? Thanks again Pete
No problem! I haven't been using the EOS M as of recent but I'd recommend you try downgrade the firmware to 2.0.2 and use crop mood over the normal magic lantern as i'm pretty sure its far better. And in general its more common to use the 2.0.2 I think as its more stable with these builds. I hope you have goodluck with it!
@@mcee1 Hi. Really appreciate reply. Unfortunately, I can`t find a download link for downgrade to 2.02 and online recommendations say it potentially disarms certain functions on camera. I can`t understand why there is no ML version for this firmware update. If they hacked the camera to start with then I don`t understand why they haven`t patched this. I can`t be the only one with this problem. The firmware update has been around for years. I haven`t had any replies from anyone on any platform, even from ML or ML Reddit. Thanks anyway.
Thank you! I've been working on the next one ever since this one dropped, I wanna make sure its good! I'm hoping for a monthly schedule but I still haven't got an idea on what I should cater my content to exactly
@@LouisLuzuka Honestly I just embrace the noise but it probably depends on the resolution and asepct ratio you shoot with. I always shot with 1:1 and 1920x1280 and the image came out pretty decent.
The 700d has a slightly better sensor allowing it to shoot 24p on the highest 16:9 resolution ( Crop Mood). The EOS M cannot do this. However, the 700d is bigger and heavier but more durable. It also use EF lens.
this camera is fairly old so you wont find it new in retail stores, you'll have to look in places like mpb or other second hand market places like ebay. Id recommend mpb as thats where i got mine.
Hey there! I dont use the eos m for video anymore so I am not up to date with the recent builds and everything. I would recommend you watch 'How to Install Magic Lantern on Canon EOS M' By Reel Filmmaking. It's surprisingly simple and straight forward to do. But make sure before you start you have a decently fast SD card!
Hi thank you for your awesome videos about ML and EOS M. Do you know by any Chance if it is possible to shoot WITHOUT raw and 10bit, but with higher resolutions or high fps? So to have lighter files but still use ML’s awesome Features. Thank you
Hi and thank you! as far as I know I'm not sure if that is possible as I have attempted to do that before as the file sizes are just insanely big. There might be a way but I don't know, if you find out make sure to let me know!
@@mcee1 Yeah I read on a forum that there is a Crop_Mood_Hack, but can’t find how to enable it. Also because if I simply disable Raw my camera crashes, or it records standard mov with 1080p 30fps, as ML was disabled. If I find out I’ll reach up to you, thanks anyways!
@@ryanleethomas Oh wow fair enough, are there any downsides to crop mood? -edit: after looking into crop mood more, yeah youre right i'll definetly start using crop mood!
@@mcee1 Downsides are purely based on the card choice and resolution you pick. Main obvious one is AF isn't really there, so don't count on it. For higher resolution, just monitor your exposure, as of course too much light is a limitation to any ML build. Otherwise, no it's far better than previous builds.
your video is cool! As a fellow M user with ML, I shot a lot of client works on it mainly events. I would like to venture out on shooting music videos, what tips and tricks can you tell me in terms of the camera itself or the methods you do when shooting MVs?
Thank you! I really appreciate it. For shooting music videos I always make sure it is heavly under-exposed as a slightly over-exposed image can cause the camera to stop recording. and i'd rather compromise slightly on the quality than missing the shot completely and having to re-take it. I also just shoot in 2K 1:1 or 4:3 something like that as I've found it to be the most stable with decently good quality. I'd also really recommend you look into older vintage lenses like c-mounts for example as they provide a nice unique image and are quite cheap although not the clearest obviously. Another thing is that since the auto-focus is almost non-existant or Ive found it to be, I focus more on static shots with a tripod as that allows me to get the best focus. But if you are shooting something that involves lots of camera movement, up your f-stop to get a better field of focus and then either increase iso, decrease shutter or add more light to compensate for it.
@@mcee1 Thanks! I will definitley take your advice. I know the M is far from perfect, but once you've known the best settings for your work, it will do the job done! Thanks for the wonderful response.
Wow! Incredible. The footage is amazing. Movie-like! Thanks for shooting such marvelous videos.
thank you so much!
the moire adding some vibe 😆
Nice grainy video, how do you make it? (Lens? Magic Lantern? Davinci Resolve?)
@MutambaBrazil Thanks! I edit in davinci resolve and it's a combination of the vintage lenses used plus film grain and halation
So wonderful
