I had the honour and pleasure of meeting him during the Battle of Midway Commemoration at the Navy Memorial back in 2019. He was mentally sharp as a whip, with a wicked sense of humour to boot.

He is still alive and kicking! I am his daughter and he is still doing well. He will be attending a WWII Weekend in Reading PA June 3-6
