Hi I tried this bike several weeks ago, discovering Triumph at the same time. What a bike ! Lot of fun and beautiful. I'm really surprised you said you rode it all day?!? After less than an hour on it, I was really bothered by the vibrations (saddle and handlebars) and the noise level (exhausting). Otherwise, there would already be this bike in my garage!
This is rapidly becoming my favourite bike. I find myself looking at every video about it just like i did before i bought the Street twin, i see a pattern emerging! FYI, i try to watch all my subscribed channel videos all the way through, (sometimes one and a half times to recap) including the adverts, ....every little helps.
@@farzankhansaheb Yes it seems to tick all my boxes...... except maybe one, that pillion doesn't look to comfortable and the wife may not like it, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. LOL
I narrowed down my choices to this bike and a Monster 797. I signed the papers for the Triumph and have to wait a week for its arrival at the dealership. Reliabilty and cost of ownership were my biggest factors because both bikes are fun rides. On a track the Duc will most likely outperform this one but my gut says I'll be more satisfied with the 660 5years from now as a commuter.
Brilliant video, I totally agree had this been around when I brought my Twin 1 year ago i'd likely have gone for this Trident instead. The Street Triple was very much just race/speed oriented. But this upright style & more traditional looks really make the difference for me

Nice review Tony and looks a fun bike👍. Agree about triumphs weight figures....they have been promoting the new 850 tiger a lot but using dry weights....which isn't a good comparison with the ktm / bmw. Ride safe
Those fist few seconds look weird. Almost like you cut out the shape of the bike and pasted in on some road footage. Is that because of the floaty camera thing you're using?
It’s the stabilisation I think. If the 360 camera is on a long pole and the road is bumpy it’ll hold the horizon still but excessive movement in the pole gets magnified.
The side plastic by the tank. Does it it grip like a tank pad? I’m really new at riding, just curious. Also made a deposit and it should arrive first week of April.
Thanks for the great review! In some videos they describe it as rather short and cramped. How did you find that seat height and general ergonomics for your height?
Thanks, sadly not Kawasaki UK only support ‘mainstream media’ and I haven’t found a friendly dealer who will loan me one for a few hours. I’d love to give one a go
Its a tough choice, i think as standard the Trident has better styling, but you could do more with the CB if you wanted to mod. They are both great fun to ride, that triple howl is nice, but I would say the Honda is a little quicker? Yes this motor is a perfect opportunity for Triumph to bring us a new 'Tiger Cub'...
Not interested in one, not my cup of tea, at that cc a triple has one too many cylinders for my liking, imho. However.... this is the best review i've seen on the bike, and i think it will sell shedloads. Kudos.
Great review, informative and rational, It I were in the market for a new/another bike I would take a serious look at this new offering from Triumph.. The one part of the design I do not like is that god awful number plate holder/system....(Not just a Triumph design feature)....Unlike the old idea of a 'compliant' licence plate system that could be overcome with a aftermarket 'tail tidy' this looks as if its there to stay...I my opinion it spoils otherwise nice design. Thanks for that. I knew we could rely on you for a sober and considered assessment. Thanks Stephen I try. I really liked the Honda. I think I might prefer the styling of the Triumph (I’m just pleased they didn’t use a big logo on the tank 😉) and the engine feels a little more punchy (but not quicker).
