- MG Hector, the internet SUV which was launched in India in mid-2019 has been popular now with its extraordinary features and attractive price point. It was launched in India with a trending price range of 12.48 - 17.28 lacks(ex-showroom price). Its the only SUV in 2019 with such loaded features.
The review model we are showing you in this video is "PETROL SHARP DCT" and its the only variant which supports all the smartphone control in the MG iSMART app. You guys might have already seen the MG Hector review from other popular car review blogs like Autocar, Power Drift, etc... but this video is entirely focused on the registration process, smartphone control features and its real-time operations on the vehicle.
This video also solves some common doubts about Hybrid Vehicle Technology. They are,
*Secondary Battery: Charges during De-acceleration, slow braking, etc...
*Eco Boost: Give an extra push during acceleration and conserves fuel.

Can we operate the app in multiple device for one car?
Yes we can do that..but maximum of 2 devices at the same time. If you connect a 3rd device any of the other 2 will be logged out.

Sir, could you please help? In iSmart app under Smart drive it shows “No Record Found” how to get the records? Everything else is working.
Clear Cache, Clear data and forcestop the app from the app info. After that login again and see if the features are working after a drive.

You should enter the password u have created when u have registered. Or if u are saying what to type while registering, then you can create any types of password with alphabets and numbers.
Bro cvt is good or Dct? Am confused which to take? Please help
DCT is superior than CVT.
There is a lot of different between dct and CVT... DCT provides you the dual clutch transmission for sporty feel and to generate more torque.. But the fuel consumption is very in...on the other hand cvt provides you the automatic transmission through a continuation range of gear ratios means....there is only one gear in CVT which works in different speed segments according to your driving area or road slope.. Like it will not let you overspeed and will help you in such road where you basically met with traffic on daily basis to CVT provide you the best fuel efficiency.. And as of now hector is not providing DCT
DCT hasbeen discontinued so Cvt is only one left

Most of the infotainment system and Smart Phone Control is similar for all MG vehicles...Electronic Steering and Seat adjustment is common for high end vehicles, so just watch our video on Fortuner and you can find how to adjust the seat and steering...it's quite similar to it.

Adas in Gloster means Level 1 Autonomous Advanced Driver Assistance System. It have features like Adaptive Cruise Contol, Automatic Emergency Brake, Automatic Parking Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC)
An intelligent form of cruise control that uses camera based systems to scan the road ahead and accordingly accelerate and brake to maintain a safe distance from the leading vehicle, providing the driver with added convenience and safety while driving. This feature automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed with respect to the leading vehicle, keeping your driving experience unperturbed.
AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKE (AEB)
Sensing an imminent collision, this causes the car to apply brakes. This is beneficial in avoiding accidents and greatly reduces their severity.
AUTOMATIC PARKING ASSIST (APA)
Provides the driver with suitable parking assistance in tight spots and lends a stress-free experience. It literally makes your steering wheel completely hands free, enabling assistance to help you park parallelly or vertically.
BLIND SPOT DETECTION (BSD)
The Blind Spot Detection detects and alerts all sudden movements from your sides - be it overtaking vehicles, side-lane strafing or undue movements from vehicles parallel to you.
FORWARD COLLISION WARNING (FCW)
This system alerts the driver with visual and acoustic signals when an obstruction is detected. The obstruction can be four-wheelers, two-wheelers or pedestrians.
LANE DEPARTURE WARNING (LDW)
This system warns the driver with sound and visual signals if the vehicle is about to cross over from its lane.

Most of the features are automated you don't need to do anything. The manual control is Cruise control that you can manually adjust. It can be found in the headlamp or wiper indication levers.
Does the car need Bluetooth or just mobile data to control ac and sunroof
For all the smartphone controls to work your phone must have an active internet connection (Wifi or Mobile data).

Yes we can start the engine using this app. But the app supports that feature only for Petrol DCT models

I recently bought an mg hector dct automatic petrol... about the boot function... there's 7 step I believe according to how much you'd want it to open . Where is the feature present?? Ty
You can open the boot 4 way
1) From driver seat there's a button
2) From the button present in the boot
3) Using Mg ismart app
4) Using Car key (press and hold the boot open button for 2 to 3 sec)
There is also a 7 step opening angles that you can set according to your preferences you can find it in my another video in my channel.

What mileage are you managing to get?
Usually the MG Hector owners are getting different mileages ranging from 7 to 10. The company says we will get a mileage above 10 when the car covers over 10,000Kms

Only the Automatic variant ie, "Petrol Sharp DCT" have the AC remote control option because due to its safety feature ie, it turns on the engine to switch on ac. So in the manual varient it should always be in neutral and on handbrake or else the vehicle will move and cause troubles. Thats why they haven't given the manual varients this feature.
Note :
* The AC feature is given because when we have parked the car in a hot parking area. And when we use this feature the vehicle can be cooled before we get back into the car.
* When we switch on this feature on smartphone it will automatically turns off the ac and engine after 10 minutes.
* This feature will only work when there is enough fuel of atleast 30% or above in tank capacity as per the information from MG Motors

Then main usual problem can be 2 things. One problem can be your internet connection might be poor. And the other reason might be that your car might not be in network range (ie, the integrated airtel Sim in the MG might not have network range) .Also if the issue is due to app bugs, we can remove them by going to app info and then clear cache and forcestop. If it still remains, go to help and report and issue.
I have a plus varient Sir why dont i have a ac control on ismart app? Its top varient. And app is updated. I don't know why?
AC Control needs the vehicle to start so it only works for Automatic varients like Petrol Sharp DCT

How many phones can be connected to mg hector through mg I smart app?
Using the same id and password I think 2 phones simultaneously...but if u connect more than that, then one of the phones get disconnected.

Our dealer told that this app can only operate on 1 device
Ya this app is only suited for 1 device...because with the same engine number and vincode you cannot connect to any other mobile numbers.
But, you can use another device at the same time by using the same username and password and logging into the 2nd device so u can use 2 device at same time.
And also u can connect to more devices bcuz after connecting to more than 2 devices, any of your already pre connected devices will automatically get logged out.

Yes, but it will have only limited smartphone features.

The supported versions of MG are only allowed in the app. So Petrol SHARP DCT is the top varient so it will have all features. Also Diesel Sharp varient have limited features as its manual transmission.

If the vehicle supports the app then u can connect with the vehicle. Just check if your RX8 have smartphone control. As far as i knw MG hector, MG hector plus & MG ZS EV have this tech.

Its a good vehicle, with low price and features competitive to audi or bmw..and its fully internet connected. You can find the extra features, ambient lighting and infotainment system from my other video
When I receive verification code and enter it, it displays invalid code.. Please help me in resolving this issue.
Just go to ur Phone Settings > App > MG iSMART then click storage and click clear cache, then clear data and after that forcestop the app and then restart your phone. So if there are any app bug it might go away. Now as per the video follow the steps once more.
Note : U need a good internet connection & need to type the verification code as soon as possible cause some code have only 2 to 5 min validity. Also after typing verification code just verify again if u have typed the code correctly.

In europe the I-smart app is not working dont know why MG does this, is there a software hack to activate this?
If the vehicle have the ismart option, then the app will work for sure. You just need to bind the vehicle with the app like I have shown in the video that's all. Also try to contact your dealer if the feature is supported in your region.

Its the phone's GPS error. It occurs to me also some times so try restarting the phone and see once more or clear cache and data and try to log in again. Also check if the mock location is on in the developer options in the phones settings if yes just turn it off.

The options in the ismart app depends on the vehicle varient. The one I have shown in the video is the top variant ie, MG Hector Petrol Sharp DCT.
How to turn on the lock unlock sound??
Usually it's turned on by default. If there is an option to customise, then we can do that in the infotainment system. I have made a video on the infotainment system in my channel. Just check that video.

It's only available in Automatic Transmission varients. For the AC option to work, the vehicle must start first and for that the vehicle must be in Park mode and the electronicbrake should be on. This can only be achieved in Automatic vehicles, as it's always in park mode when we stop the vehicle and the electronic park brake will automatically turn on after the vehicle is turned off.

In MG, we have integrated Airtel SIM card. And u don't need to recharge the Sim or anything. It's for lifetime.

Yes, we can start the car using this app...but its only limited to remotely turning on the ac for a maximum of 10min.
How to change the default security code *1234* to our own 4 digit number??
There will be no default code ie, 1234...after you register usually the window appers to set a pass code. If you want to change your passcode got to My profile there you can see security code settings there you can change the passcode

Mg looks good but not in performance especially long drives.. And sometimes problem with the voice commands....
Performance wise its good but we feel it have low performance as it have high body weight. And also we have to put it in sport mode to get extra pickup while overtaking in highways. Also voice command delay is there, they might fix it in future infotainment system update.

I think it's saying your password must contain a small alphabet, capital alphabet and number. For example -: If your password is anuk123 then write it as Anuk123....so the password have a small letter, a capital letter and numbers....if it asks for also symbols, then you can all any symbol like @ or _ ...for eg Anuk@123

Bro i am unable to find ac option in my mg app
Ac option need the vehicle to start, so it's only available in Automatic varients due to safety reasons. Automatic varients like Sharp DCT models will automatically engage the electronic park brake when the engine is turned off, but for manual transmissions for the vehicle to start it needs to be in neutral gear and on hand brake so it's not possible all the time and thats why due to this safety reason it's not available for varients other than Automatic ones.

U must type the engine number and Vin nimber given in your vehicle without a mistake...like if the number is all capital letter, then when u type the number and letter it should be all capital letters...So just recheck and type it correctly.
