    To be fair to Mike Brown, the following happened:
    - Keegan took time off to get healthy and has played much better under DC
    - Devin Carter started playing and proved to be a rotational player
    - Trey Lyles has been playing much better
    What you can't give Mike Brown a pass for is not playing Keon Ellis and practicing too much. Also, I do think he mishandled Sasha who has been balling out in Europe which feels like a missed opportunity.

    • @TheStarsShineForYou

      Sasha is a real mystery. Why did he bomb out so bad? The kings paid a lot to him, enough to make him rich, for what? Really strange. He never played one whole game and he was a MVP in Europe. For all we know he could have been the next Curry.

      M brown is not a good coach. Funny, the kings has Bill Russell as a coach once and he was not very good. So it's like teachers, the good ones are good, the bad ones are bad and that's it. I still remember my good ones and bad ones, and boy o boy, the bad ones were bad!

      Great call on Sasha...Mike was the exact wrong coach for him. He's too "old school" in a hyper modern NBA & he just didn't trust Sasha's game or have any idea how to incorporate it onto a team that in his eyes didn't really need his game. I've never been a Mike Brown guy as he's just not a great modern NBA head coach for a mature team...he is a great coach for a young team in need of direction, but he's got a defined ceiling.

    I want to make a couple points in Mike Brown’s favor that I believe to be true. Mike Brown changed the culture in Sacramento. Mike Brown’s coaching style WAS what the team needed to end the playoff draught, and I truly think his coaching style elevated DeAaron’s game and helped him make that jump we’ve all been waiting for since he was drafted.

    Doug Christie is taking a few pages out of the rick adelman book. Grant said, adelman use to coach with less practice and giving days off. Great job by Doug!

      @matthewyip8695 7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Agreed 👍. Doug also doing what adelman coached. By saying you do this best... Keep doing that and add to it... But he wanted the player to do whatever they did best as a priority. It makes their role clearer, it makes your coworkers/players know your best habits and they will be more efficient. Adelman implemented the Princeton offense but he had his other coaches frame it to show how it will work for the team. Iverson was 👍 right about practice... If they are professional they will just need to practice new set of skills or moves to be improved

      If you trade Len (who is AWFUL) and Huerter and a couple first round picks for Walker Kessler you clear up your logjam at guard and the Kings get the center they need for a possible championship run. Then you do it, no questions asked.

  • @jesuswenceslao4909

    Kings need to use Huerter and pick(s) to acquire a true backup big and a rotation level wing(doesn't have to be starter level). If you acquire Cam Johnson, it would have to be because you are punting on Derozan, which at this point looks unlikely. So the logical thing is to upgrade Alex Len and make a lateral move on Huerter to balance the front court.

    You guys didn't even mention players saying that Mike Brown wasn't good at communicating, which seems crazy for a HC

  • @ilovemylife5
    @ilovemylife5 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Heard three players say a long time ago, i.e. last season as well as this season. the practicing was too much. Even Brown said once (when Jordi was here) that he was having the team do something over and over and over and over and his coaching staff told him he couldn’t do that. Brown said well nobody left practice.
    I heard a former nba player say in a podcast that he told his coach at the time he could either play hard in practice or play well in a game, but he couldn’t give him both. That player was not in his prime, but the message is still relevant. I figured a long time ago, Brown needed to be more in tune with his players. I also always felt he had a stubborn characteristic, too. Coaching in the nba is unique. All coaching and teaching is a balance act, but nba coaching is even more of a needy balance act. They are adults. Plus Brown was not maximizing the players he had.

    If Brown worked the team too hard, but now, Christie is letting them rest their legs, we may just be in the sweet spot where the team is incredibly fit, but now more fresh for the games. If the trend of not practicing hard continues, we may start to lose some of that peak fitness. But for now, they are amazing to watch!

    • @v.vag.8013
      @v.vag.8013 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      It is mind blowing to me how a HC (Brown) didnt understand, it seems, the importance of recovery in order to improve?!? Or didnt give a day off more often when they were obviously constantly overtraining. And were not fresh enough for the games. Keegan's and everybody's bad shooting was a direct result of overtraining.
      To cure losing/bad shooting/bad plays and whatever else with more training, putting MORE physical and mental stress on the body is just unthinkable. You are never recovering fully from this cycle unless you lower the stress level and allow the body to improve and the mond to freshen!

    To barrow a quote from Bull Durham "Never f**k with a winning streak". So with that being said if a trade does happen you need to look at fridge AKA end of bench guys and draft picks. I think Carter has given the Kings what they needed off the bench with defensive flexibility and hustle. Just time to stack wins and hope for a chance at a top six seed before I start practicing my parade flu call to my boss. Side note a thank you to Coach Brown for getting this started

    5:35 Mike Brown's structure is perfect for a very young, developing roster that's just figuring it's way around the league, which was fine 2 years ago. However, these guys are mostly seasoned vets at this point and don't need their hands held.

    The winning streak is making clear that a Cam Johnson isn’t a necessity, and would even be a gamble for team chemistry, because it is working. The upgrade the Kings could use to take another step is at reserve PF. That could come from more places than frontline players. BTW, Ellis should start. The Bulls game was closer than it needed to be because he didn’t start.

    It boggles my mind that Kings fans believe less practice will lead to better performance. Just ask Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Nikola Jokić, Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille O'Neal if they think less practice would have helped them win more championships and games. It's an 82-game season plus playoffs!
    No one on this team has won anything. Coach Brown has won multiple championships and has been around great players, so I would trust Coach Brown’s philosophies and coaching abilities any day of the week to guide a team to success. Not one person, from the players to the coaches on the Kings roster, has done anything to suggest they are great.

    Huerter is also playing better. Mark my word, he is also going to play better in the next 3 weeks.
    If he does get enough playing time to show it, well that is another thing.
    I dont defend him, I am not a fan of his. It is just that in my opinion he is the most introvert, more than Keegan for sure. He is the weekest mentally and that is why he needs more time to get going. And that is why he was SO inconsistent under MB.
    Fan fact: last year with Huerter before deadline was the same story. Go back and check for yourself. He was bad in until december and then just before the deadline starting playing better. In my opinion cause he was afraid of being traded. What happened, the rumours for his trade stopped and he stayed. Just after the deadline started going downhill again.

    More proof that Brown(w/out Jordi) was not a good Coach. No one (besides NYK)played their starters more min than Brown. Then he's working them like dogs in practice? Plus he tore Fox apart in the last game. No other coach rips their star like that. Plus it was Browns fault they lost!(K.Ellis on bench). They have to seriously reduce DDR min. Keegan, Fox & Monk should see their min lessen a bit too. D.Carter needs 20min.K.Ellis needs 25min

  • @TadasJam
    @TadasJam 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    I dont agree with aces example. We dont need a star or maybe not even a starter (while personally i would love to start 3&d wing in place of dd), we need 1-2 rotation guys. That it. Atm we have close to zero backup for sabonis and murray. Lyles in general the only option and that is clearly not enough.
    Also its clear huerter is done. We limit carter and ellis minutes in favour of huerter bc he cant play foward. Its just stupid. It pays off iat some point only once in like 5 games. If you dont want give any 1st picks just go for 6'7+ guy who can cover sf/pf for 15-20 mins. That it.
    Its just too exoensive to have a guy who plays less mimutes then earns miliions. And mostly plays bad.
    They key moment will be how team will react to first defeat. If we gonna win next one we are good if not - american hills are back.

    My apologies but He lost me when He undermined the Kings win AT BOSTON. Sabonis had 29 rebounds and played his azz off and Demar started making 4th quarter shots WITHOUT Fox .
    I see this b.s. all the time with Pacers media too. When they win it was because so and so on the other team wasnt playing.
    But when Kings are missing players He literally didnt even mention it. They beat Boston AND Miami WITHOUT Fox. Miami plays better on the road. Miami is NEVER an easy win.
    There ie no such thing as an easy or automatic win in the NBA. A team will be FAVORED to win but somehow the casual NBA fan base and talking heads national media who have NEVER competed in anything as high level as the NBA if at all somehow imply a win didnt count because the opposing team was missing a player.
    Why not just forfeit the game then? For now on if an opposing team is missing a starter or two they should automatically forfeit and not play the Game.
    Goodness God that narrative drives me nuts. In a 7 game playoff series could it have been a factor? Of course. But when it happens literally ALL THE TIME that an NBA team will win when missing A star player or starter the narrative becomes just a talking point of fluff.
    All star players have bad games ALL THE TIME in the NBA.
    GOODNESS. My apologies but that narrative boils my blood. The fact hed undermine A Kings win AT BOSTON WITHOUT FOX literally makes me speechless almost. AND he covers the NBA.
    No wonder why players develop chips on their shoulders and become closed off. Your damned if you do and damned if you dont.
    Its HARD to win in the NBA.
