  • These units saw production begin c. 1926 by the Mills Novelty Co.
    As Gambling was illegal in most areas of the Country during the prohibition era, the insert on this machine (which was in New York) states "A Game of Skill is NOT Gambling".
    The player would launch a penny into the machine and either get "G" (Gumball), 1 (5¢ in Trade), 2 (10¢ In Trade), or 5 (25¢ in Trade). For any trade amounts, the proprietor would come verify the winning and twist the knob on the top to allow the coins to drop into the divided cash box on the bottom.
