Just got a probably 7-8 month old lab. She had been dropped off by someone outside of my friend’s house. Also appears to have had no sort of training before. After 2 days I’ve gotten her to sit and almost completely stop jumping. Started crate training last night and she’s doing good with that. Any tips on training a pup that’s a little older but basically starting from scratch?

OUTSTANDING video! Finally, someone getting it right about the approaches to Labrador training! Of course, the only thing better than a Labrador is....TWO!
In the next few months, we are anticipating the arrival of our new Lab puppy as a second to our 7 year-old Lab. He is well-behaved, and appears to be very friendly to other dogs, even when he has canine visitors at the home. It would be very helpful to see a Fenir Video regarding introducing a new puppy in a home that already has an older dog. Thanks!

    Hi,
My dad seems to think that its going to be easy to bring a baby lab into the house, as easy as he says, hi pup this is house done.
I'm trying to explain the importance of crate training and obedience ect but he's it as breaking the dog and making it a robot and not letting it just be a dog.
Its upsetting and worrying as I don't want a ferile dog, I want to be able to walk off leash and have him listen to me ect.
How would u suggest best persuading/ convincing my dad that creat training is a good thing and its not breaking the dog ect.
As having a new puppy isn't easy and I don't want him taking it too easy and we end up with an unsociable untrained dog.

We rescued two black labs - they were in foster care and we were able to reunite them from different homes. They know some commands but are 4 months old! Do I just start at the very beginning? I’m confused on what proper steps to take as they clearly have some bad habits - like separation anxiety and nipping too harshly - especially on my tough two year old toddler. The girl clearly has been spoiled - which is fine - but we want to make the best possible life for them and for us as well with them.

Thank you for the great videos. I’m looking to home a 12week old puppy. I’ve been advised that it is best to get a puppy between 8-12weeks as this is the best time to bond the puppy with family members and that it’s a very important stage of puppyhood as it’s the best time to introduce all that you can to help reduce fear later on. Im worried I’ve missed this window but I’m hoping that 12weeks would still be ok? If you could help with any advice that would be wonderful and I’d be very grateful.

@suvi honestly so good! My advice would be make sure they have a structured routine so 1,5hrs awake of play and training and 1.5/2/3 hours asleep. It’s honestly been a life saver because she’s had enough sleep so is super calm. My only advice would be make sure you’re socialising her as much as possible. Because she was a big puppy, it was hard to carry her everywhere so didn’t really take her out until her jabs and wished I had. She’s not nervous but her fear stage at the moment means she’s barking at dogs and people but only at the beginning of walks so once she’s settled she’s fine. Annoying but I’m working on it :)

Also I’ve planned the collection of our puppy so that we take it home in the summer holidays (2 months at home all day with the puppy) after that however I won’t be able to be at home all day but some other family members will be, any tips?

So I just came across your videos and I'm still at a loss at what to do first. I just rescued a nine month old lab who was never trained with any commands it seems like. I have only had him a few days but there are certain things that I would like him to know ASAP. I think he is starting to know his name which is great of course. I have been working on sit and stay which seems to work but only when he wants to listen. He has gotten into a lot of things and chewed up a lot of things including destroying or 5 Tuffy brand named toys which aren't cheap but because he just got fixed we were told to keep his activity level low for a few days. I have noticed a few times where he has gone after me and a few other people in an aggressive biting Behavior it seems like that has happened only when you get in his face and try and make him do something he doesn't want to do such as buckling him up in his car harness. I'm not sure how I should go about making him understand that he needs to listen to commands that I do in general. I also am unsure how to immediately stop him from doing something that isn't good for him like chewing on plastic and eating it or getting on the couch when we don't want him on there or aggressively latching on to hump even though he just got fixed a couple days ago. I want to train him very well and like I said I am already at a loss as to where to start and nip certain things quickly. Can you give me some pointers please it would be greatly appreciated

@@willathertonlabradorshow2225 thank you I'm trying my hardest. He started this new thing now where he out of nowhere will be just sitting there and next thing you know will come running to me and latch on bite and I can't get him of. To the point where I have pucture wound all over my arms hands legs and feet. I have had to get to the point of trying to get him in his kennel to be able to stay away from him for a little so he doesn't hurt me which I want his kennel to be his safe and sleeping place not time out place. The prong I got must not be the best because even though I got it fit to him it swivels and it doesn't seem like he's fazed by it. I watched your videos and I see you use the herm prong so I'm going to buy that one now. Thanks again I look forward to more videos from you!
