Getting the clan castle was a HUUGE grind when it cost 40k to restore.
Especially on low TH's

It was a Huge Grind, But the Heroes were a way bigger Grind... I never reached the 10k DE for The barb King on TH 7, because you got the Drill only at th 8
And I have No idea how Many storaged I looted with lightning spells to get the 40 k for my queen

I remember having long convos in global😂 I’d talk to randoms like I’ve known them for years when I think of it I wonder what happened to those players. If they got families or if they ever kept playing it was such a gd time

For OG’s only: when walls used to only cost gold so we always had max amount of elixir but no gold while trying to grind walls
Also counts for low TH levels.

Then it changed to level 8 walls being upgraded with elixir too, but now, in the new update for 2022, we can use elixir to upgrade walls at wall level 4!
For the OGs: remember when troops used to take extra damage from certain defenses (hog riders taking 1.5x damage from giant bombs, PEKKAs taking 2x damage from teslas, etc.)

does anyone remember that troops used to cost a lot more elixir and you couldn’t train your pekkas and golems and the golem specifically costed like over 1,000 dark elixir for a low level golem

For OG's: Remeber when you had to repair your traps after your base was attacked
And for lower town halls you'd get back on and not have enough to repair them all cause all your loot was taken
now, they can still be unarmed - but they rearm for you, for free once you log in

A really minor thing but still something I noticed: remember when the lab what the same size as the town hall
And when you wanted to train troops. You needed to go to every Barracks and calculate your troops. They weren’t liked like today
Also I am not sure about this but the Campfire was A WHOLE LOT bigger.

I remember a time when Valkyries had a different attack animation (I believe it was a side slash animation or something like that) But it was later changed to the spin attack that we have now. Not only that, but when Valks got their new spin attack animation it was not as good because the A.I won't attack in between 2 buildings. Until a later update Valks A.I system would now move in between buildings so that way the spin attack would hit two or more buildings at time. Not sure if anyone else recalls this.
I remember when Pekka's favourite target is Tesla and Tesla's favourite target is Pekka with 2x damage, and Eagle Artilery's favourite target is Golem with 3x damage.

10000 dark elixir for the king... damn I remember that... it was hard... I ended up using my gems for half of the dark elixir needed... I didn't purchase the gems tho
Lol yes, I remember that when I got the king at TH7, this was before the protection from lightning spells on storages, so one of the best ways was dropping lightning spells on the DE storage, and you'd get like 300 DE each attack. It was such a waste but one of the only ways us poor TH7 could get it lol

When you couldn't stash decorations and instead had to sell them back at half price. Including the ones bought with gems

Don’t know if you ever mentioned this but back then airbombs and other air traps wouldn’t hit the healer. This was eventually changed because people started using Healers + Queen.
I know it's already been talked about but the biggest change for me is the fact that over the years wall prices have been reduced by 90%..... A level 10 wall only cost a 100000 now and it used to cost 4 million it literally used to be Max storages for level 11 walls And you would have to upgrade 400 of them
Nah upgrading from level 8 to 9 costs 1,00,000 and 9 to 10 costs 2,50,000

My whole family used to play Coc and we would progress alongside each other. A fond memory I had was when my dad bought me 10k de to get the Barbarian King for a birthday present.
Made that stage of the game a lot easier.
Everytime an "og's remember" video ends, i end up having a really satisfying smile in my face I don't even know why
I do have a same smile.. because it gives me feeling that a guy like me, a complete introvert is part of some community and we have turned old now
I don't know if someone mention it but there are some things I remeber.
Hidden tesla would deal 2x damage to P.E.K.K.A.
Giant bomb would do the same to hog riders.
When it's comes to sound, archers had diffrent death sound from today.
Edit: I remembered Valkyre glitch that would made instant golem trained for 1 gem.

5:28 I played back in 2013/2014 and made a new account last month. I’m already halfway through maxing out everything for townhall 7. Getting the Barb King was absolutely no work at all because they gave me the 5000 dark elixir as a reward for the tasks. Certain aspects of the game are too easy now tbh.

I remember last time u need to re-arm/refill traps xbow and inferno tower using resources either gold, elixir, or dark elixir, if u don't they will visualised used or ran out of ammo

Back when android accounts had to go download clash of clans from some sketchy 3rd party online store because the google play store download would just crash. It did this for every major update I can remember from about 2013ish-2014ish. Kinda fits the long android wait times. But yeah I had to get some sketchy download the day of a new update just so I could play without waiting for supercell to patch it 3 days later.

I literally was grinding for 40000 dark elixir and always lost it when got attacked
after a month of grinding, I got the queen
and soon after in 1 week, the price was reduced to 20000 dark elixir
and after downloading clash of clans after a year, the price is 10000 dark elixir
now I feel like all my efforts were in vane

I remember the king gring bro, doing atacks to steal just 10 units of dark elixir and beeing happy with that, 200 dark elixir was THE LOOT, now imagine having to raid with the old training troops sistem to grind 0 to 10k, MY MAN, althoug is nostalgic and I miss that, lets be realistic, the game only got better

One thing that will always stick with me is the Mega/Mega Empire clan. I swear that family’s reign lasted for such a long time, and it wasn’t ever just one "Mega" clan. Sometimes the top 5 clans would have at least two Mega clans in them.

Back in the day, the "looking for a match" song used to reset every time you found a new base. Nowadays it just plays out the 30 second soundclip without interuptions, and then it loops back. Dont know if you have mentioned this already..

Oh my god the OG barracks sound unlocked a memory I didn’t know I had
When Giant Bomb and Tesla did extra damage to Hog Rider and PEKKA respectively
the tesla used to do more damage to the pekkas than to the other troops (i think it was x3 damage)
When hidden teslas did 2x damage to pekkas and pekka was its favorite target
There was once hidden tesla could deal 2x damage to Pekka and mega bomb could deal 1.5 damage to hog riders. Horrible when you place every hog rider accidentally next to the bomb.
When the cc especially if you did lure out troops or would bring half your army just to defeat the cc. That was the hardest part and defense and set up was a lot meaning full...imo.

Surprised no one mentioned Godson at all. He was a pretty big creator back then, I don't know about now but he was just wild with them spam 200+ troops attacks in the creator accounts.
Another OG thing:
Before the update in the builder base where the time decides weather you win or loose, on very low builder hall levels (like 1 or 2), it was actually hard to get recources bcs literally EVRYONE ALWAYS got 100%, so you would hear the draw sound A LOT (compared to other things this is actually not that old but for the most people it was probably a long time ago when they started a new builder base)
No offence but imo i dont consider anything in the builder base as an og thing

When I first reached TH7, I had to build the Dark Storage before being able to collect dark elixir because at this time the TH couldnt store IT. Getting the King was a real struggle

Just started playing again after 3-5yr break. I don't have any vids, but if you timed the obstacle removal just right, the builder would either run (at least 2x faster) or the much harder, builder would literally teleport to the next obstacle.

Yeah I remember , it was maybe in 2016
OG fact, walls was expensive as hell, and could not be upgraded with elixir, so most people would just rush to the next townhall level before maxing the walls, because of the massive grind would take too long to complete.
Now after coming back to my townhall 10 base there is a massive difference and I can Actually get to townhall 11 with maxed walls.
For example a single level 11 wall costed 4million to upgrade while level 9 walls was 1.5million to upgrade.

I don't know if it's already mentioned in other episodes, but back then when searching for multiplayer battle when the 30 seconds runs out and you haven't click "next" you will be forced to attack or else you lose trophies even if you haven't deployed any troops. Unlike now as long as you haven't deployed any troops, spells etc. you can "end battle" without losing trophies.

It's been a while i didn't place COC , and the only thing that I remembered was the first time I played wich was around 2014 and the one where you can be online for 24 hours straight so I don't get attacked

The day i got my DE storage i literally played everyday getting like 200/300 DE per attack and spent a lot of gems worth of shields to reach that 10k dark elixir, the 40k for the queen was a little bit easier.
