It doesn’t help that the intake and exhaust have to go into and out of the same side of the head. Poor flow design straight from the factory. But we have to use what we’ve been dealt.
In 142 S had 100 hp with 2xSU. My old B20 (in this video) has stock A-cam and lower compression ratio. Horsepower is 92 whp so advertised horsepower would be in this (92*1,2=110). I hope a can get a lot more from my rebuild engine with K-cam and ported cylinderhead.
I had an Amazone -62 rebuild the engine.
Hi, i have the same head on my 1969 volvo amazon. Is it the normal b20a head? From what i have seen it is a later type head from the 70's, with slightly bigger valves, is this true? It has those flat spots as well on the top that are not present on the 60's heads, and which are made to be drilled for injectors.
I'm impressed with the exhaust sound!
Good job buddy 🙏👍 im rebuilding my volvo 240 currently, it's really nice to see other guys having fun with volvos 😁👍
Thanks Mate! 240 series is one of my favourites but don't have any at the moment. Maybe someday.

True.👊
Really cool to see, thank you. I'm in nearly the exact same situation w/a 142GL B20B & Weber 36/32 or some shit.
Beautiful Volvo. Enjoy
Thanks! After this video I have done some upgrades. It has now more power.😁
92hp is pretty good from the B20A, The K-cam is good for a manual once you get above 2500 rpm.
Yes, I happy with that. It will be very interesting to see how much the K-cam will help. And ported head.
Cool Video, me and my Dad are looking to buy a 144 with a B20 A👍
The advertised HP is supposed to 118.. And that is stock SU or Stromberg carbs. You have 4 carbs it should be more than what dyno gave you...

that 92 are wheel hp's ? than it's not bad , when the 92 are crank hp's I aspect more of those csrb's but a better cam wil do a lot
Yes, whp. I just put a new engine in. It has K-cam and ported head. Interestin to see how much power it gives...👍
