Used this my R15M after using motul 7100 for 2k kms
As you said shifting from 1st to 2nd is butter smooth otherwise overall performance is almost similar to motul 7100,coolant temperatures remain at constant levels and performance is also same.

If anyone owns a CBR 150R/250R please use the Honda Throttle engine oil which is 10w30 grade oil, it performs better than other engine oils especially 10w40.
Because CBR engines are designed to run thinner oils hence performance is better with 10w30 and engine feels more relaxed and revs freely, sharing my personal experience here.
Honda Throttle is the best option 👌

@@thesportztourer No need to say thanks dude 🙏🏼 I used the Shell Advance Ultra 10w40 on my CBR 150R and rode around 500 kms but ended up shifting back to throttle engine oil as I could feel the resistance of the thicker oil and somehow bike was not freely revving, it was feeling more like a tourer engine oil. I was missing free nature of the engine and it was taking time to accelerate as well. The only advantage I felt was that the heating was less and somehow had a feeling that Shell will easily do more kms without any fuss.
Due to thicker engine oil mileage was dropped by 1-2 kmpl.
After putting the Honda Throttle engine oil I could immediately see the difference in performance and nature of the engine, it was like I can reach those higher speeds more effortlessly and someone like me who's mad about these things I could feel that less thicker oil was definitely making things better for the engine as resistance was less.
      Just wanted to share. 🙏🏼
I have seen all your videos and really appreciate your effort, keep making videos like this, there's hardly anyone else who makes this kind of quality content.

I bought a new HONDA CB125F and then changed from 10w30 to 10w40 Liqui Moly full synth. after 1000km.
Crazy Bothi is right: The motor is revving better with the thinner 10w30.

❤️EAGERLY WAITING FOR A LAB TEST❤️ I have been using this super bike oil on my KTM RC 200 NEW MODEL 2022. Results were amazing, especially for highway rides with high revving all the time. Can u pls suggest me if should I follow the drain interval of 2500 kms for this oil for a better engine life rather than going with manufacturers 7500 kms drain interval?.. Considering the oil price at 1200 rs/litre

As far for indian weather and high temperature conditions, 15w50 or 20w50 should be recommended and used..
One should always remember every oil after few thousand miles of use loose its viscous tendency..
So slight thick oil will always protect your engine life..

I've been using fully synthetic engine oils since last 3 years after being frustrated with the yamalube for my fz- S 2.0 and in my latest service I used Castrol power 1 ultimate (bike) and till now I've ridden almost 500kms with this engine oil but I feel the engine isn't responding very well to this engine oil for some reason. Before I used shell advanced ultra and my engine ran smoothly and gave overall the best performance it could in city, highway and in gear shifts (3800kms). After that I used motul 7100 which gave good performance on highway as it made my engine rev happy and returned decent performance in city and gear shifts (3957kms). Mileage on these 2 engine oils were almost same.
But now when I'm using Castrol I don't feel my engine is responding the same and I'm yet to do a mileage test. But the character of engine has definitely changed (not in a good way).

It's because the Power 1 Ultimate is a synthetic based engine oil, not fully synthetic, nowhere on the pack is it mentioned as fully synthetic and it's price is also low compared to other fully synthetic oils. And always buy lubricants from offline genuine retailers, not Amazon or Flipkart. Online retailers always give you duplicate products.

    Hi!
From 2019, I am researching about engine oils.
Till now, I am still doing research (not dedicated, but whenever I become free).
Now, for an running engine, below are the temperatures:
    Oil sump: 70C~80C
Piston-Cylinder: 150C~180C (For track racing, upto 200C, but not considering that)
So, the viscosity at those temperatures will also matter.
Now, a manufacturer designs a oil for engine, also designs oil pump according to its viscosity index and viscosity at 70C-80C and 150C-180C.
For example, 10w40 with VI 150.
Now, if we use 15w40 with lower VI 135, then it will be thicker in the oil sump which will be great and create more oil pressure, but will be thinner in Piston-Cylinder (Compared to stock oil), which is not good and may cause wear and tear.
Now, if we use 5w40 with higher VI 165, then it will be thinner in the oil sump which is not good and create low oil pressure (which is a major reason for wear and tear), but will be thicker in Piston-Cylinder (Compared to stock coil), which is slightly not good as it causes a slight power loss.
Now, in extreme summer (45C), oil sump temperature increases, so, viscosity in oil sump also decreases and causes a slightly lower oil pressure and many people think that oil is becoming thin due to engine over heating (this thought may be wrong, although sometimes it is due to incomplete engine cooling also).
Now many people suggest to increase the upper grade, like if stock oil is 10w40 then use 10w50, but using this increases viscosity at both, the Oil Sump and the Piston-Cylinder.
But, I recommend to increase lower grade also, means 20w50 (over 10w40) now what will happen after using this?
It will increase viscosity in oil sump even more than 10w50, but in Piston-Cylinder, the viscosity will be slightly increasing from 10w40 (more than 10w40 but less than 10w50), which will cause a lesser power loss than 10w50.
So, if we compare the viscosities of 10w40, 10w50 and 20w50, below is the comparison:
    At 70C-80C: 10w40 < 10w50 < 20w50
    At 150C-180C: 10w40 < 20w50 < 10w50
Increasing the viscosity at oil sump doesn't cause any harm but benificial due to increased oil pressure, but increasing the viscosity at Piston-Cylinder definitely causes loss (reduced fuel efficiency).
So, increase the viscosity at oil sump as much as it is required, but increase the viscosity at Piston-Cylinder as least as possible.
The same is applicable for other grades also (If 10w30 is stock oil then 20w40 can be used in summer instead of 10w40).
Now what, if sotck oil itself has low VI? (like 20w40)
In that case, strictly avoid using 10w50, can use 20w50 (still not recommended). Better to use 25w50 or 30w50, which is not possible.
In this case, oil pump design is very obsolete as manufacturer designed the oil pump as per the old low VI oil.
    Final conclusion:
If stock oil has some VI, we can use after market oil with higher grade and lower VI, but we can't use any oil with higher grade and higher VI, as the ratio of the viscosities (70C-80C to 150C-180C) will alter and may cause problem.
Another option is to top up with higher grade and lower VI (if slight increment is required), but mixing engine oil with different brands is not recommended.
[Note: It will be better if one can stick to the stock oil.]

      @thesportztourer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Very well put together. This also explains why most local mechanics run on 20W-40 grade oil. Infact 20W-40 grade is amongst the most sold grade for motorcycle segment in India.
I do have some more to add on the viscosity front which I will elaborate in the future videos. Its presence of well informed members like you that motivates me to go ahead and deep into these technical discussions 😊

    • @sujaybiswas783
      @sujaybiswas783 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Chethan Correct! I own Platina 110 and it uses 20w30 oil (marketed as Bajaj Dtsi 10w30). Platina, CT, Pulsar, Avenger have older oil pump design whereas Dominar has modern oil pump design. Now I can't use any other after market engine oil in my platina otherwise loosing the fuel efficiency.
To use high VI engine oil, oil pump must be designed to pump that oil which is relatively thinner in the oil sump.
I am very lucky that I didn't used Motul 300v 5w30 on my platina.
However, I own Jupiter 110 that uses TVS Tru4 Premium 10w30 with VI around 140~150.
So, I decided to use Motul Scooter LE 10w30 with VI 134 (Good Case). After using that, I felt that for first 10-12 kms, it is quite silent similar to Activa (at least much silent than other Jupiters) and claimed Highway Only efficiency to around 64~65 kmpl (this is more than ARAI 62 kmpl).
Now after 1500 kms, now I felt that during ride with pillon, the oil is not thick enough. So I drained some oil and added 50 ml Castrol Activ 20w40 (VI 109) and after 200 kms, when both oils got mixed, now the oil combination is performing well.

    Please resolve this mystery!!!
"For hotter countries, where the water never freezes by room temperature all through out the season of the year, Distilled water is a far better coolant than any manufactures' coolant."
Does distilled water, have better heat transferring capability to the radiator?

    • @thesportztourer
      @thesportztourer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes it does and the reason is absence of any minerals and contaminants that can deposit on the surface and effect the heat transfer by reducing the thermal conductivity of the surface. Infact some race/drag engines run on straight distill water but the long term effects are drastic as distill water cannot protect your engine/heat transfer surface from corrosion, inturn it will boost rust formation which is kind of slow-poison for your engine.
Also note if your radiator fails to bring down the water temperatures below 100°C then the cavity formed by boiling water can hamper the heat transfer, this is where coolant mix can help in increasing the boiling point with a desire of uniform cooling.

      Good morning!
In my case with the RTR 200 I have frequently switched in between 10W-30 and 10W-40 with no issues which was verified by lab tests as well, same was observed with the Honda Dream Yuga. However I never tried higher viscosity oils like 15W-50 or 10W-50.

    • @thesportztourer

Even I had the same doubt. Right now I can say the kinematic viscosity is lower on the superbike oil and the thermal stability is better. I am assuming the formulations to be different and that is why I want to do a lab test on the Superbike engine oil.
