Martina's parents and sister are in the box and in the red next to her mom is Aja Zanova- a Czech figure skating world champ from the 40'50s- she left Czech... in 50s or 60s and opened a popular restaurant in Chicago- The Czech Pavillion w/ her husband, when Martina defected, she played in Chicago every year and they became friends.
It rained a lot and the lines kept getting washed away- so they painted them on- that what was causing all the slips- when the ladies did their split steps/change directions on a line- they slipped- worse for Hana, she would land her service jump on the line and take off for the net- she face plants doing that several times here. Both were ticked they did this, but it effected Hana more.
Ive learnt to love Martina. But I still feel sad that Hana couldn’t win Wimbledon. This was her best chance.
