Garbage thermostat. Got an expensive new Trans system and it won’t connect to our Nexia account. We never get to an enrollment screen and despite having the same mode number features in this video the menus aren’t the same. Apparently the device was already registered (so they sold us a returned product), and it was never disconnected. So now we can’t use it. Nice.
Trane - Is it possible to somehow disable the stupid screen saver that only gives an option of making the temperature bounce around, or making the screen entirely black? I would like to be able to see the blue home screen at all times. The screen saver reminds me of a Windows 95 screen saver from the 1990s and it is very annoying to see the temp bounce all over the place. I don't want to see a black screen either. Because of this I regret getting a Trane - the Lennox S30 thermostat that I have on the other side of the house is much nicer as it shows the temp normally without bouncing.
Update to my own question -- I switched to the XL1050 model and that one has the ability to disable the screensaver so the blue Home screen is visible at all times. The XL1050 also is more accurate with its internal temp sensor. The XL1050 is a much better model. Avoid the XL850!

I was able to install the XL1050 myself, it was so easy. Just go into the installer settings (hold down the button for several seconds to get into the installer menus) and take some pictures of the existing settings. These settings aren't even that advanced, just some basic comfort preferences on how fast the system responds etc. It is so easy, the only reason Trane would say to have a dealer install it is to protect their dealers as a cash generator. @@ranger-px9ki
Is there anyway I can hook this up to my boiler? I put a new a/c unit in it works good. I removed the nest now this won't work with my heat hot water boiler? If I need 2 thermostat that's rediculous.
