I remember when Alabama came out, and I remember using her as a rental ship, and (I was a noob then) I didn't know how to work with her. Massachusetts was a weird addition, a somewhat secondary ship.
I'll have to re-test Massa, actually. The auto-secondaries are a bit meh from what I remember, definitely not a monster like in PC, but maybe I'll need a look with fresh eyes.
Started playing again after 2 or 3 years, can't remember but Russian battleships just came out when I left. I have to say I am having fun but my skill level isn't close to what it was. Thanks for all the videos.
I was curious to how well she held up through the years and tbh she still seems pretty viable and playable even in the current meta. She’s definitely better than the N.C. in game and in real life too being that she was basically a “perfected” version of that ship with a shorter more practical hull, much better armor protection all around, better maneuverability, and has a more innovative torpedo defense system. However she’s definitely no Massachusetts I have her and she is an absolute menace! I’d even go as far as saying she’s probably the best tier 8 battleship!
I need to revisit the Massachusetts, such a rare ship to see. I wasn't super convinced with the pure auto secondary setup, but I don't think I've tried this ship since she came out.
@@FunandGameswithTerry Oh yeah she is a beast and her auto secondaries with rapid reload are murderous! She gets the precise aim skill as well but I don’t think she’s as good at range as the Alabama though. Massachusetts almost feels a bit German and is really more of a mid range brawler with the skills she has. With what she has going for her she is definitely one of the best tier 8 battleships if not the best at that tier!
The Alabama is still a good T8 BB and I think that's, now, one with the more low price in T8. I have buy this ship for the low price....and the AA. I use Hasley (level 12 😁) only for my US premium BB. So good choice for Alabama, but really need training (I have play a lot with booster and use free experience and gold) to perform a lot with 33% of PS. 🙂
Shes finally in the shop and i just picked her up. Only USN Battleship my family and I have been on. Daughter slammed her finger in the car door when we first got there. Luckily got back 2 weeks later and had a blast. So i had to get her for the sentimental value but also because i need a good tier 8. I only had to Zeiten till now, im almost to Hawke in Brit BC line
Definitely. I think "meta" is probably a simplification, I prefer a non-meta ship that matches my style over one that doesn't. And it really depends if you're playing random or competitive, in random, multi-purpose often beats specialised.
Great video - thank you Terry and as always greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

So many awesome battleships at tier 8
Yep, T8 sure is interesting sometimes. Reprive for the struggle that's T9
So many ships!! Fun one.

Have wanted this ship for awhile but I never see her in shop ... 😔
It's one of the rarer ones. I got the bundle back in the day, but can't remember if I've seen her back since.

Always have wanted Alabama, especially since I saw the ship in real life
I've yet to see one of the numerous museum battleships. One day...
@@FunandGameswithTerry you should, I recommend the NC first
Alabama is considerably smaller than the NC. I like that.
SDs are 12 meters shorter, thank the treaties for that.
She’s shorter, has better armor, and overall is just more practical than N.C. The South Dakota’s were undoubtedly the best treaty battleships!
Battleship size is often an overlooked factor. One reason the Odin works so well, too.
She might have fallen off the meta but she's still a pretty good tier 8

Iowa hurts at ANY range with a maxed out captain.
Always wanted Alabama, but never happened. I did get her sister Massachusetts, which is ok, but think Alabama is a better ship...
I'll need to re-test Massa, wasn't hugely impressed back then, but maybe I had wrong expectations
@@FunandGameswithTerry maybe... But lacking the range of Alabama, and only auto-secondaries, i feel shes definitely second best to her sister!
