Damn i learned a lot of this vid, im a CV noob (kinda, i played lexington), and i didng know you can use fighters to destroy enemy fighters (just like in that zao) and i learned a new way to avoid flak, which is changing speed constantly
Inadequis Similar thing happened to me before. I was playing Shōkaku and practically the entire enemy team was huddled up in one sector. Got yelled at by a teammate because if I used my torps, I apparently “could have gotten a hit.” Problem with that is, well, then the rest of my squadron would be blown to pieces lol
@@krin9437 another time I got yelled at for doing good damage to enemy ships instead of spotting (spotting is just as important in a cv but what can I do with the whole enemy team huddled up?)
The thing people don’t know about IJN carriers are that they can’t be in AA fire from 1 USN ship for too long Let alone 3 USN ships huddled together would literally erase the entire squadron in less than 10 seconds But my teammates were yelling at me for not helping them with a Des mones, Montana and a Minotaur Like bruh I was a Hakuryū And I know damn well my squadron would be wiped out but still got yelled at The entire damn game
I think that was report for Harugumo from Kleber for smoking, so the Kleber was only visible target for the enemy instead of two. She was basically blaming Haru for her death.
What a shame this isnt recognized more... it helped me perfectly to adjust to the "NEW" CV mechanics, as i was returning from before CV rework. Thanks a lot m8 ;)
@@TheCountDook what Herp said + the dispersion on HE bombs of Midway is ridiculous most of the time, extremely unreliable for small targets no matter how low you manage to get. Furthermore Midway has very few plane reserves 16 fighters (same as haku), 16 torps(10 less than haku) and 20 bombs(same as haku). So yeah, you have to adjust your playstyle a lot. Then there's audacious, with the lowest hangar capacity (but with greater armor), and planes that have ridiculous amounts of HP and are stupidily maneuverable but are slow as hell (it's fighters can achieve an extreme speed of 170something knots, under boost). Which is also a completely different playstyle, since you rely purely on DoT. (Though USN bbs, French bbs are pretty vulnerable to its DBs, I personally have gotten 17-18k dmg strikes on them).
+tips: best place for fighters to spot enemy BB are behind them (specialy works it with torpedo bombers) if you did a strike and flied over the enemy ships keep going forward and put the group of fighters a safe place (the best in this if they go forward your teammates spot them if they turn back they show broadside for awhile and still on spot for 1 min) If you know you will loose lot of planes for one strike try to rate how many planes will you loose before the strike and "send home" all other planes. (dont risk more than necessary)
Hello Top Tier, I am so impressed on how you make the video; all the comments, pop ups, animations, etc. May I know what program you use to make the video?
I have a question please, on the torpedo planes and your coming in to launch your torpedoes it starts out at a very wide angle but on some cv’s it narrows. On all cv’s is there a way to control how wide or narrow you want your torpedoes to launch? Thank you...Also on the captain skills why are you not using the torpedo speed increase? I know you loose a little distance but you get more torpedo speed? Thank you
Well, the planes on the part of the IJN and the USA always start with such a wide range of attack. This decreases when you hold the aircraft still. If you move the aircraft with A or D, you enlarge the area again. That's why you move slightly with A/D or just using the mouse. The only exception is the British aircraft carrier, which only slightly increases the area of attack if you attack with A or D. Because of the torpedo speed, I only have the assumption that by encircling the opponents correctly by torpedoes, a second attack would be "more precise" or that one could keep opponents in a lane longer or that opponents could be forced in one direction as at 7:40 is.
The reason he's not using torpedo acceleration is because the IJN CVs have the fastest torps out of all of them. 50 knots. The other thing is that the Torp acceleration skill actually increases arming distance (the yellow part when aiming torps), the IJN torps already have a notoriously long arming distance and as such the acceleration skill on them is a massive detriment, especially at tier 8+. By contrast the US and Royal Navy torps are hella slow, 35 knots and have either an OK or in the case of the royal navy exceedingly good arming distance (that is sort of their thing, the torps themselves do less damage but they have a much smaller arming distance, meaning you can launch them closer, making them hard to dodge). For them Torp acceleration actually is a really good trade off.
luketfer ,Thank you sir for your kindness and your help. I would like to ask you 1 more question if I may please? The yellow section you see when your aiming your torpedoes what does that mean? Is that mean that when the yellow section gets to the ship it’s to late to launch your torpedoes? Thank you very much.
That is correct, if the ship is inside the yellow section that means the torps won't do any damage, you can still launch them but if they hit a ship, it won't do anything. The yellow section is referred to as Arming distance. this is the distance the torpedoes have to travel before they arm and will deal damage. Japanese aerial torpedoes have a long arming distance because they travel faster (50knots) meaning they go further in the water before they arm. The Royal Navy and US torpedoes only do 35 knots so they arm in less time. The Royal Navy torpedoes actually have the shortest arming distances out of all of them despite being the same speed as the US torpedoes, that is sort of their CV gimmick.
I still don't understand why they don't put Taiho as T10 Carrier but instead made T10 IJN CV a paper ship. Taiho actually existed and they had it as T9 in game before CV rework, just a bit of balancing and it'd be fine as T10 CV.
Hey dude, love your vids. Amazing to see and always take something with me. One question troubles me through: Flight Control Modification 1 - how does the +2 Slots impact the game - meaning which plane types I get 2 more off? and is it worth over concealment on haku?
You get two planes more of each type (rocket, torpedo, dive bomber, not fighter though) as reserves. It doesnt affect your squad size. Generally i consider it to be worth it, but not on the IJN carriers since 6km concealment on torpedo bombers is awesome
I think there is something I thought it will be helpful, you used your consumable like always, the fighter should be help your team spot and defend from enemy aircraft
Can You made material about choosing CV line? Which one is good in what? + and - of every lines. Unfortunately on wiki WG is only description about Midway and there is nothing about Audacious and Hakuryu.
when your carrier is forced to cap then you know the team has let you down. people complain about carriers but if you hadnt been there they really would have been up shite creek
When dropping someone who is turning you need to lead in the opposite direction of the turn, because they drift while turning. So, Toptier should have moved the center of the reticle a little upwards so that the bombs would catch the Yoshino mid drift.
Presently, they are not a module you can fit. However, they are still in Inventory; for any one unlocking the mission (until 12-13/02/2020) to get the module... there is no clear information from WG on what is the cut off date for the mission (ingame 31/12/2020) and what will happen to CV modules "in inventory". This has been true since the Cvrework.
This ship is making the current clan battles season almost unbearable. Nothing like being hit for 18k+ every time a squad of fucking bombers comes at you. WG: Let’s put CVs in clan battles after we botch the crap out of AA.

After playing so much IJN CV, it feels hard to go play USN CV's now
Why whats the difference between them both? Sorry im a new CV player
@@TheCountDook IJN CV's rely on mostly pure alpha (Strong Torps and AP bombs) USN CV's rely on half alpha and half DoT (ok torps, HE bombs)
