    Resurrecting a Vintage Honda Twin (1975 Honda CB200T)
    Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by for another video! In this video my friend Matt and I tackle trying to get his 1975 Honda CB200T up and running. This vintage Honda twin ran great until a small accident that left it running on its side for a bit. Matt and I look at all possible mechanical and electrical issues that could have happened due to the accident. We go over the carburetors, ignition, and wiring in order to determine the cause of the problem. Overall the evening was a success and we managed to get the bike up and running again! It needs a bit more work but our goal was to start it and hear it run and that is exactly what happened!

    Let me know what you guys think of the background music and if I should keep using it or if you prefer silence (aside from my incoherent rambling of course, who doesn't love THAT?!)
    Also make sure to give the video a THUMBS UP if you enjoyed it as it really DOES help the channel! Thanks for watching!

    T stood for "Taillight", it had a position on the ignition that allowed for the "parking lamp" to stay on. The "CB200" of 1974 did not have this switch position.
    This was literally my first motorcycle, back in 1985. Thanks for the memories!

    I got a beater one last year. Just bought a titled frame for it today. Now to do a frame swap and begin the restoration process. Thanks for a great video. Yours is a really nice example!

      Nice! I know someone local with a 360 four. The 200T is indeed a pretty good example!! Super low miles, just needs some love.

      @@scottregan1667 haha dang, my bad man! Bike actually didn't need too much. It's practically brand new, just some surface rust from sitting around but otherwise it was cherry. If it were mine I'd definitely be doing more videos on it :)
      It sounds like you might need to clean the carbs out. Your electrical sounds to be fine but fuel might be the issue. Carb rebuild kits are suuper cheap for these ones.

    My grandfather and I found an old 200 in his late brothers stuff. We've got just about everything restored - or the means to have everything restored - but we cannot find a seat for the life of us. Seat covers, yes, but we cant even find just a pan. Any suggestions for places to look? We've tried scrap yards, face book, honda dealers, eBay. No dice thus far.

    T just stands for twin. In the UK we had a CB200 closely followed by the CB200B, the CB200 had a TLS front brake, the CB200B that horrible cable disc.

    Wow man you guys are good at mechanical work for being so young. I'm 20 and envy you lmao, trying to get better. I've got a Shadow 750 and am learning to work on it in many different ways on my own (luckily its mint so not much work lol).

    • @kosmoto
      @kosmoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate it man! Just keep at it, the more ya get your hands dirty the more experience you'll get for future projects. Don't be afraid to mess stuff up too, sometimes it's just part of the process. Shadow 750 is a neat one, I love the V-twins! Can't imagine pulling an engine like that though haha.
