Looking back on this series, the humor was usually hit-or-miss, and I think the humor peaked in the first season/arc. In fact, it seems the anime decided to amp up the humor. As for the build-up of Zeus Junior in the game for Inazuma Eleven 1, it seems that people around Inazuma Town were being given "ambrosias" by Kageyama's minions (who are usually just some suspicious men in black suits) that made people antagonize Raimon (almost like they were mind-controlled) for polluting water. At one point, when the protagonists were trying to search the chairman of Raimon Souichirou Raimon/Sonny Raimon, they eventually learned that he is waiting for Endou at the top of the Inazuma Tower. At the tower, Souichirou praises Endou for what he has done, but also warns him to be careful against the match with Zeus Junior, as Kageyama seemingly polluted the water resevoir with chemicals. He then points Endou towards the lightning bolt of the Inazuma Tower, letting him know that it usually shined and represented active peace in the Inazuma Tower. But ever since the tradgedy 40 years ago, it lost its shine. He also tells Endou that the only way to give the light back to the tower is by defeating Zeus Junior and becoming the true Inazuma Eleven. As each cutscene is playing, the managers are also wondering to themselves how they should be any more helpful. Souichirou's message to Endou at the top of the Inazuma Tower made him much more memorable as a character. That dialogue between him and Endou felt so empowering for some reason. But yeah, good episode again. 👍 Also, in the game for Inazuma Eleven 1, when the protagonists entered the Zeus Pitch, they discover that it's completely empty, but are then surprised by the REAL Zeus Stadium entering the center of the field with Kageyama "welcoming them" for their "final destination". P.S. The OST is done by Yasunori Mitsuda, who is known for doing the OST for Chrono trigger, which is one of the most important turn-based RPGs ever made.
