- Contractors VR - More like MW2 VR. The new custom content update for Contractors has engorged the game with every classic FPS map now playable in VR. But unlike Pavlov, Contractors really works with Call of Duty maps. It works scarily well in VR. Rust, Terminal, Downfall, Pine, all of them. It's fun. It's funny. But most of all, it's just really cool... until someone says it's not allowed anymore.

VR is just something special. Watching Habie hurt his foot and fall over was funny and all, but watching everyone else crowd around him to see if he was okay - in a shooter - was just surreal.

i don't care what anyone says, giving the community an opportunity to make their own content for a game is never a bad option. if anyone knows what type of content they wanna see in a game it would be the players

exactly the same thing happens in pavlota and its push mode. modders change the game for players - including the expected hardcore mode
With the rise of live-service unmoddable multiplayer games like the recent CoD, Halo and Battlefield games, it's nice seeing VR return to the more classic community-focused view of what a Multiplayer game should be. This level of community contribution used to be a given for flatscreen multiplayer games back in the day.
Having an official VR Halo game would be just a dream come true. I don't think it'd ever happen because VR just isn't really as financially viable compared to traditional games but I can dream, damnit!
Unless 343 ports the first trilogy to sell Xbox vr headsets 👀
That will eventually change. It's already starting to get there. Zenith was the top seller on ALL of steam when it came out, not just the VR games. Facebook is making a KILLING off of buying up popular VR games.
@@sultanofsick Eh, VR will never be as popular as regular gaming. There's simply too many hoops to jump through. On top of that, most people don't want to go home from work then stand in their room miming every thing out. They want to sit on their couch and play simple cod. VR is awesome, but it's a different medium that can't really compete with traditional gaming.

@@Jarekthegamingdragon Didn't say it would ever overtake pancake gaming (though I'm also not sure it WON'T). But it will be PLENTY viable enough to have big dollars put into it. You could make the same arguments with PC vs console gaming, and PC gaming obviously survives

3:48 What is funny in VR compared to normal shooters is your freedom of movement. Look at them litterly showing how happy they are to get 360 -noscope attempts at them while standing there swinging their arms! VR allows people to show their personality more, thats good.
I really hope that big companies don't force Pavlov, onward, and contractors to remove their maps. Maybe it will be like the mods on the steam workshop?
They won’t. People have done this for ages.
There's no way to stop people modeling these maps, and there's too many people to sue without creating a publicity NIGHTMARE. The community wins on that one. Because nobody is using original files made by CoD game developers, I'm not sure if they can even sue
Do the original map-makers own the intellectual property rights to the set of positioned cars, trees, and cargo containers, even when recreations of these maps can be done without any of the original files from these games?
they already did with halo maps in Pavlov but the community just put them back up and pavlov didn't care once they complied once. "LIKE GUYS WE GONNA ACT LIKE WE FOLLOWED THE CEASE AND DESIST. AND WHEN THE DOGS ARE GONE JUST PUT IT BACK UP.
I want to point out that Contractors is in a game bundle on Fanatical for really cheap. The bundle is called "Build Your Own Ultimate VR Bundle 2".
This needs WAY more upvotes. Just got that and a bunch of other games I really don't need. 13 games for $30 is by FAR the cheapest I've ever gotten VR games.

I was so confused when you said pine was from mw2019 because I have literally never seen that map before. Then I looked it up and realized it’s from the 1v1 mode and I actually suck at the game so I’ve never tried that mode. Awesome video as usual!

And these maps look amazing, I don't play contractors but seeing PINE from CODMW 2v2 it basically sold me. The lighting and texture work is so good for a community map in a somewhat small game.

6:13 it finally happened 6 months later but for smoothbrains thats like 700 years or smth
for me contractors guns feel so good like just sliding the pistols slide back is so smooth and satisfying plus the custom maps and great graphics for the quest is just amazing
Contractors also has Halo! Fully functional magnums, ARs, energy swords and Red/Blue spartan models. There's even a crosshair since those guns don't have ironsights. This was like a year ago during the free weekend so I'm not sure it's still around, but look for a Blood Gulch match if you want some real Halo VR. Beats Pavlov IMO.

I bought contractors a while ago and every time I take a break the devs come out with a beautiful update. One thing for sure that was lacking in the game was decent maps. Some were too big and it felt like you never saw anybody. Why reinvent the wheel when COD and CSGO (etc) have already created perfect maps
And the fact I can just load it up on my quest without a PC is so good

Personally I think with the big corporate company like EA Activision ETc they never care nearly as much about the game as they do the money they get from it so I think our best bet is content from people who actually care about making the content for the purpose of it truly being cool But I can’t really say the same for halo

Pavlov and contractors are both made on ue4, so its not far fetched to imagine some of the top Pavlov modders doing some modding on contractors too.
Even though i do agree, that the Call of Duty mod(s) to contractors is/are very good, you can use halo weapons in contractors too, and even though it doesn't work very well, there is actually also a titanfall mod to contractors.
And if course star wars and team fortress, but i know, that you mentioned then in a newer video.

Dude, I remember a few days ago playing pine and it was so amazing and immersive to have my teammates die around me as I slide behind a barricade and sit down in real life peaking up and shooting at enemies while being shot at and having grenades explode around me. This is why I love Contractors.

Good video, I watched until the end so you weren't alone! As a hardcore Pavlov player it's hard for me to put down my AK and move to Contractors, but your stuff makes me consider doing it. Getting a good Team Deathmatch game in Pavlov is so hard these days, as the devs have fractured the community with so many different niche game modes.
Rust is the absolute greatest map ever created for an FPS. Valhalla in Halo is a close second.
