The En-Rattening of VR - Ghosts of Tabor

- Ghosts of Tabor is the best extraction shooter in VR right now and as such one of the best VR games we have. Extraction shooters like Tarkov are famous for their realism and brutal gameplay, but put that extraction in VR and it's just insane. Thank you Ghosts of Tabor for sponsoring this, here's the link to the quest store page: www.meta.com/e... It's been a wild 2 weeks for me personally and next week is even wilder. Cheers whoever's reading this.

I love how, when you die there's no kill feed, no seeing your body fall down, no spectating, it's just a black screen that pops up immediately following the sound of a bullet
Just like real life! 😂
@@IG_ArticleParticle who knows, maybe if you die irl you see a third person point of view of how you die 💀
@@IG_ArticleParticlenope, apparently it usually takes minutes or hours to die from a gunshot wound, except for head shots. Otherwise, military evacuations and hospitals wouldn't be a thing.
@@JojoTheVulture dawg I better not get a fucking killcam of me getting taken out by slipping on ice outside my house like some lame ass GTA charactor.
@@Hundredthldiot well yes but the OP stated death not justa. Gunshot wound
A big part of these games is positioning. You aren't dying because you can't react in time, you're dying because you're putting yourself in a position where you won't have enough time to react.
Yall are taking this too seriously. One guy is like, "So actually, I'm an expert." Then another guy responds to him saying "Well actually IM the expert." Like, yall knock it off. You're having a nerd-off right now.
As a tarkov player, this is false. The biggest part of the game is game sense, you gotta know when they're waiting for you and when to wait for them, positioning won't do squat against a well tossed grenade.
@@tatefreeman4563no offense but tabor is a completely different game then tarkov we’re not just clicking out mouse and keyboard positioning is in fact the issue
@@skronkowski3596 I've played Tabor, reaction time and game sense are still on top.
There's a reason the saying "All aim no brain" exists. Game sense, positioning, and just general common sense are just as (if not more) important to winning and having a good time.
@@tatefreeman4563 okay, we’ll I’ve got 800 hours on tabor and I’ll say the most important part of a game is where your at, if I’m on island, I do just about everything possible to avoid the roads, middle silo yes it’s far more based off of reaction then positioning and that’s simply because it’s so close together, also game sense in the game is sort of weird, sometimes footsteps can’t be heard or gun noises won’t play. But yes picking up on those audible clues will help, not nearly as much as the high ground and some good cover
“I brought 5 magazines and didn’t shoot a single bullet” really hits home
me back from the newspaper shop
Anything can happen in this game, you could pull out a full kit on the first raid if you’re extremely lucky, or you could go in 15 raids, and the only thing you pull out is an SKS, a granola bar, and a level 1 chest rig.
Is there still no starting backpack? Last time I played I couldn't even take any of the loot I found with me. It felt like the game was punching down unnecessarily often; given it is a problem which pretty much only affects people just starting out. Hell, give me a shitty plastic bag that will break if I put too much in it and requires me to occupy a hand to hold it.
There are two starter backpacks, largest size. You can also buy smaller backpacks in the market. Same thing with a bunch of guns. Sooo its not as bad as it seems XD@@sir_vix
I remember there being two backpacks in the armory as apart of the starter kit everyone gets at the start of a wipe.
@@capitalist_bean9844 that's a bit of an improvement.
With no dlc or special edition, you start out with 100k and the sling bag is available to buy at the market for 450 (favorite this to save yourself some trips later)
With the Independance Day Limited Edition (idk if this applies to the Nuclear Night Edition or not), you start with 5 adventure backpacks, a dlc adventure backpack, and 2 Gear Techs (located in the bedroom), along with a ton of other things (I have since lost 2-3 of my good kits from this gear lol, but got a lucky raid which made the loss feel less)
Sling bags are a vanilla player’s best friend, and adventure bag is an edition owner’s best friend (you get minty level 2 from the start, which immediately unlocks it)
Habbie's name really is John Tabor. Lore intensifies.
i didnt know that
Ik it’s crazy right
Middle name ghostof??
gustav taborev@@personexistingnot
When you play a game where you die in a few hits, reaction time is less important than positioning. Position yourself near buildings, rocks, trees. From your footage you always seem to die when you don’t check your corners or are standing in an open area
Habie has exactly zero tactical sense. Hardcore games are not meant for casual players. He will be nothing but a squid on these games unless he quits youboobing and actually tries to play the game with skilled people that can teach him the basics.
@@sqlevoliciousoh my gosh you sound so pretentious…
if this game is hardcore then im a hardcore person… im literally not

@@sqlevoliciouslike i get what you are saying but jesus christ dude you act like this game needs real life military experience…

You really hit the nail on the head about us Tarkov players. All of us veteran players went through this period for a *very* long time. You just have to realize that often times improvements in skill chance the outcome extremely slowly. You might get better at positioning, but only survive 3% more of the time. It's only when you make big improvements in many different categories that you will notice an actually significant difference.
Yeah that's why you play tarkov and don't have a job
It takes 12 hours of your day just to "improve" at tarkov
Eff you
If you want a tip honestly semi is way better in all senecios because if you have a fast trigger finger no need to worry going on safety and long range even spamming the trigger faster than full auto still much less recoil. So mainly keep your guns on semi unless you’re at silo.
I personally never mess with safety because I’ve had too many guns on safety when I’m trying to fight, and I don’t wanna waste bullets checking. I just treat it like it is a semi when firing at longer distances. Sure I waste bullets there, but I’d rather waste bullets potentially hitting someone than waste bullets checking my safety and constantly wondering if the safety is on
@@VeryTori why do you waste bullets checking? Most almost all guns have a way of telling if there on safety or not. And it’s pretty easy to remember. Here, remember what way full and semi is. Up on an m4 fire selector is semi back is full and forward is safe. Also an ak pattern rifle is middle full down semi and all the way up safe, the charging handle also doesn’t pull back on safeAnd you probably just have a slow trigger finger. P.s sorry for the length of this
@@VeryTori Just look at the fire selector switch, it's there for a reason, lol. Also, just having the sense of what firemode you are on, will help you win those fights.
Extraction Shooters are way more fun to watch other people play than to play myself. ❤
no way I find watching other ppl play these about as fun as watching paint dry. actually being in the game is at least intense because the stakes feel personal
Absolutely horrible take
@@masyali1he said "than to play myself" bro its his personal experience with it
I get what you mean, especially watching good players. I love this game tho i just hope one day it gets a graphics overhaul and is playable on every system with little to no bugs.
what a pathetic comment
Damn I just saw the sub count, I started watching habie around the time he built his house in Minecraft VR and now he's like a solid couple months out from hitting 1M. I now also have to sit and come to terms with the fact that Minecraft video came out three years ago. Time really does fly when you get older.
How does one play Minecraft in vr? I use a Quest 3 if that helps

Habie don't undersell yourself, my wife and I don't watch you while busy doing chores or to kill time. You've become our bi-weekly dinner movie. Watching your channel is our 30 minute date night before our 3 hour league night. :) our spark of joy before a night of misery.

Lol love your content man. If you want to actually "get better" don't go alone. The first rule of surviving a gunfight is bring friends, preferably with long guns and lots of ammo.

@@numimio Yea it is kind of hard to make it run on quest. I have it no pc with no problems but even on the ps5 they had to make many optimizations to make it work so sadly i cant see it coming to quest. Not the full game at least.
@@sheercold13 dude..So there is a crystal cave that you have to fight some minions and a skeleton miniboss that locks you for a bit and then you get a quest item pop it in the thing and the other thing gets destroyed (trying to keep it spoiler free). @@micahsmith9300 that is the joke
See that problem I have with this game is your very quickly get in the swing of things and then lose motivation. All the items are unlocked behind terrible Grindy quests. But even with that you can still very easily kill people with the mp40 available from the start.
I don’t really get excited when I see new guns because it’s not even an issue of how pricey they are just a gear grind.
But I WANT them to be worth a pretty penny so when you do see them you are like “holy shit that guy dropped a scar” instead of “oh hey, another scar”

Time to check "legendary tales vr" again..just full released. I saw your vid from 2 years ago and find it fun, hope you do another one!
About the guys running around naked with their hands up - first time I encountered one, I helped him kill a bot to take his gun and waved him goodbye, then extracted. Felt like a nice experience. Second time though the "giving up" guy shot me dead in the back, so I'm not trusting them ever again.

Well, the trick is, to NOT go in ALONE. I always have 1 or 2 mates with me and we cover our backs and communicate all the time. So if 1 of us gets shot, the others can revenge him and even bring his stuff out. So I never have to buy a weapon or Armor. And always use AP ammo!
Dude know how you feel. I was mostly a single player game guy and was very late to the whole everyone get together and slaughter each other trend. My younger brother turned me on to C.O.D. Warzone and proceeded to pay me back for tormenting him when we were younger.

No plan survives contact with the enemy.
Just figuring this out now huh kid? I am a trained military sniper with thousands of kills. years of experience under my belt. I've seen things in the field that would make your hair stand on end. But here's the thing about Tarkov, it's a different kind of battlefield. Sure, I can hit a target from hundreds of meters away with ease, but in Tarkov, it's not just about marksmanship. It's about survival. It's about knowing when to engage and when to retreat. It's about scavenging for resources and outsmarting your opponents.
In Tarkov, every decision matters. One wrong move, and you could lose everything you've worked so hard for. That's why I approach it with the same level of caution and precision as I do in the field. I've learned to trust my instincts, to listen to the subtle cues of my surroundings, and to always be prepared for the unexpected.
But it's not just about individual skill either. Tarkov is a game of strategy and teamwork. Whether I'm working with a squad or going solo, communication and coordination are key. We have to watch each other's backs, share supplies, and adapt to ever-changing conditions.
So, while I may be a trained military sniper, Tarkov humbles me. It reminds me that no matter how skilled I am, there's always more to learn, always room to improve. And that's what keeps me coming back for more, eager to test my skills against the unforgiving landscape of Tarkov and tabor once again.
one of the best comments I have seen on any video ever
Y'know, I think this is the first time I've watched one of these videos right before I've gone to poop today
The problem I have with vr shooters, is that I like talking, and my reaction time is 10 seconds slower when I try to talk it out. Because I don’t like being silent it’s just not fun. But dying is also not fun. So I have a dilemma
I love this game, but every time I get shot after trusting someone even a little bit makes me want to burn my apartment complex down. Even more so when I clearly have nothing and am just naked running to get out of a hole. But, every once in a while I get that masochistic feeling and go in for more. I might just boot it up to see if they improved how it runs this patch.
~1200hrs in tarkov and ive been playing since 2017 and i still get absolutely bodied
The opening sounded like the beginning paragraph of an essay.
"Something that actually exited me at first.....Please be a child Please be a child please be a child💀💀💀
Habie is the loot rat all of us have inside of us
You helped my depression through 2020-21
The audible gasp I made when Habie said I had the video on in the background while I was doing the dishes...
That intro slapped
"Babe, wakeup! Habie posted again!"
the idea that it is hard to improve in these games, is one of the game design gold mines me thinks. If someone can find a way to create the extraction shooter stress, without having to have long periods of time between engagements, players will be able to build up experience quicker.
I like hunt showdown for example, but from hitting "play" to actually having a gunfight can be an entire 20 minute circle. And that 20 minute circle can end in one surprise headshot. Its difficult to learn in that type of environment.
