I have dealt with this stuff on the same level that you describe, for 40 years, and have done all the brain retrainings and similar things, and I have to say, Miguel, that I have been waiting for you this whole time. Your balance of vulnerability about the awfulness of the experience + your enthusiasm, clarity, power and general good energy are an unbelievable gift. Plus you have really whittled it down to something doable. I'm going to do the Recovery Academy soon. Xx

What I love about him is he is so positive. Just even how he delivers basic scentences. And CFS can seem like death it feels so bad, but he’s a calming voice saying. Hey. There’s a reason for it. And it can be fixed. One of the few people in the whole world with this approach. I’ve a feeling his name will be in books in a hundred years time.

I see it has been some time since you wrote this, but reading your story I just have to react and wish you all the best with your recovery! I have been there for twenty four years now, with earlier fatigue problems of and on during childhood, and just started retraining. So I know how hard it is to live with this for so long, and I am so happy we found out there is a way to escape. Also, I hope this time you will find out what exactly is holding you back, because you tried so much already, and will be able to break that pattern once and for all. I pray that you will be completely well and happy and healthy for the rest of your life!

I gat what seems to be hyper stressed when my husband relapsed, drank, and is extremely emotionally abusive when he drinks. It threw me into a state of 24/7 shaking, room spinning, I had no idea what was going on! The buzzing, etc on top of other symptoms are brutal: hime HAS to be a safe place. I’m stuck here. I’m pinned to my bed and reliant upon someone. So, this video is something I’m so open to. Thank you for making them!

I searched Miguel's videos TODAY for "brain" because I needed a refresher! I haven't had brain fog, gummy eyes blurry vision, etc in a long while, but stress of last night (tornadoes etc) made me crash today (along with some personal stress issues, working on) . Like Pavlov's dog, I actually begin to alleviate stress when the intro music starts 😁 because I have gotten SO much benefit from Miguel's videos and explanations!

I finally landed on a way to describe the “fatigue” (such a bad word!) those fair rides, with you’re buckled into a cylinder and the arm is moving and the cylinder spinning: you’re pinned by centrifugal force. You feel weighted, on top of it. That is the fatigue and it’s not something you simply fight thru. Talking is often not an option in this state. There are many people w this illness in hospital beds, on liquid nutrition, never leaving it. I am trying to learn what seems like the only place start to manage, control, is the stress response. I’m grateful for the tiny victories, I’m grateful for TH-cam!!

Oh my freaking heck. I used to experience all of this several years ago but I chalked it up to anxiety. The buzzing - asking my friends if they also feel the floor shaking - 24/7 heart pounding that never went away for about 3 years. I got some advice to accept it and even embrace it, invite the panic attack feelings, and that started to slowly decrease my symptoms and today I still am not 100% but waaaay more functional. I'll be watching more of your videos as I'm going through some new stuff connected to my nervous system (lots of nerve pain post covid) thank you for doing what you do.

Oh wow!! For me, all of this information was RIGHT ON TIME and Transformative for me!!- i have had many health challenges/surgeries and loss in the last several years. My repatively new medical psychologist just brought up CFS to me. I sure didnt want one more health thing and wanted to push it away. However, I was doing neurosomatic mindfulness meditations and breathwork which helped me become more aware. Then watching free brain re-wiring and resilience summits where speakers spoke about our nervous system. Then, somehow before putting my phone away before bed YOUR video just happened to appear (I didnt look up CFS or anything of this kind)! What a coincidence! What you are sharing is a gift. I am sure that your program is very beneficial and helpful and perhaps gets more involved or detailed. I fast forwarded over the repeated parts as i see they were separate videos here but found your information a RELIEF and so empowering. I didnt use to really understand our nervous system despite having read authors and books before. I didnt get it espec. in the way you wonderfully describe. This along with yoga practices (stretching and minimal poses done) and other thgs incorporated and has all helped me towards the beginning of recovery. What you are putting out into this world is SO NEEDED and SO BENEFICIAL. Humans are indeed resilient but often dont know "the way". Thank you for making a huge difference in my life. You are a HUGE blessing to me. Bless you so much and may YOU be well in all ways. Thank you for giving me more HOPE and also validation of what my inner self was guiding me towards but didnt understand... at a time i could really use more and more HOPE🙏. Endless gratitude!!

I’m glad I found this channel as all I want is to get better but feel I’m my worst enemy etc because I’m naturally sensitive, but stubborn. I’m worried to death I will never get well and that I’m so broken but try so hard, get nowhere and have ended up with more symptoms from chronic stress one after other while so sick trying to push through. I’m mostly alone as people overstimulate, even family, so there’s a lot of guilt too for not being the person I used to be but also long for comfort and help. My story is a mess, but I suppose everyone’s is, it’s been going on a long time and now and I’m scared, I also compare my journey to others who recover quick and that triggers me. I can actually feel and hear my brain get worse with any stimulation, trigger, it’s agony, just writing this does it, (stupid long comment doesn’t help! )as I can no longer look at screens for long, like seconds. Anyway, I wonder if you have a video or would consider one about the adjustment period you talk about. This is my third comment on your channel! I hope you don’t mind as I know I’m rambling, It’s like my nervous system is a machine that’s gone so wrong and plugged in to the wrong energy of torture. Never in my life did I consider my nervous system. I got stressed/upset and got over it, move on. I do worry about trauma always seem to be in an adjustment person so that’s why I ask, for instance last week I went to Dr, I never go as my usual Dr left, but wanted to get routine blood tests. By the time I got into surgery after the anticipation for days, then in waiting room in like shock, self talking like mad, I broke down crying, shaking. That wasn’t bad as stressor as previous but not over them. That was a week ago snd it’s still so bad. It got worse after lots of horrid events and the loss of my cat who was my comfort, companion. Now after pushing through to hold my job for so long , I lost that because of my ill health. Everything you say makes sense and I’m really interested in your programme. It’s these horrid periods after stress I would so appreciate hearing about. It feels, sounds like my brain is an accordion being played like crazy on a freight train and other symptoms go wild. I try to calm it but can’t.

I feel like I have a chance to be well again, I am 53 and lived in fight or flight my whole life, I have never really been safe, but I have always flown with it thinking I am imortal and nothing can harm me, then my discs in my spine collapsed, long story short and many doctors later, a laminectomy, tests more teast, got total bill of health, I always trained hard, danced and worked, then got hit by the body vibrations, no answers, I felt I was dying every day, black outs, pins and needles, the jet engines on waking I thought I was having a stroke, given heavy nerve meds that make me sicker, thank you for your channel I feel hopeful for the first time in 3 years, I cant thank you enough

Thank God I found this video. This described exactly what has been going on with me currently. I had Covid 2 months ago, I slowly and gradually got better, then these symptoms suddenly started happening to me 2 weeks ago. So far, Lab tests all came back normal, I have another lab test scheduled for tomorrow.
In the beginning, I thought I was hungry to the point that I felt so jittery I’m going pass out. Then for the whole week I kept eating every 30 minutes, but the symptoms did not get any better, the shaky jittery feeling is constantly there. After a week of constant eating, I found out I was also dehydrated. When I really hydrate myself, I feel a bit better with my memory issue, but some days I feel very weak & shaky like all the energy drained out of me.
I haven’t had a good continuous sleep since I had Covid. I slept for 3 hours then woke up for no reason, every little distraction can wake me up easily. I felt very tired, having memory issues on some day really scared me, very high anxiety for no reason. Then I read about Long Covid and one of the symptom is CFS, that’s how I found this video. Thank you so much for making this video, you describe the symptoms very clearly in a structured way. Your video gives me hope that “This too Shall Pass”.

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing all this, I’m almost at the 3 year mark. You’re definitely headed in the right direction with looking into a dysregulated nervous system. There are support groups as well, if you join any, I highly recommend you stick to the ones focusing on healing vs ones that only focus on things being chronic. I would also recommend consulting with a functional medicine doctor, they do alternative testing that looks into root causes such as toxins. Again to reiterate though, nervous system healing should be number 1, you can do everything and take all the right supplements but if you don’t address your nervous, you might miss the key to getting well. Happy healing! ❤️‍🩹

I've been ill for several decades with Fibromyalgia after an accident. It got much worse after being vaxxed... Sent me to ER 3 times! High BP of 250/120 with a body rash, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, tinnitus in time to my heart beats etc etc Lots & lots of tests later, heart ok, bp meds, diagnosed with COPD-fluid on my lungs!?! Given an inhaler to ooen my bronchial tubes, which I now after 3 yrs, I only need during allergy season...
But I still hurt a lot & have crippling fatique.
So, I recently went Keto/Carnivore to get control of my weight, and miraculously, I started feeling much better! ☺️
I now have more energy and much less pain! Hallelujah! I started reading No Grain No Pain to understand all the foods and ingredients that cause inflammation. I've been watching the author on YT, Dr Peter Osborne. He's so generous in sharing all of his learned information on illnesses, supplements, the causes and cures etc. It all comes down to fueling our bodies with nutritious foods so our brains and bodies can function to the best their ability! My Brain Fog has lifted and knowledge Ive had comes to mind more easily again! It is amazing the difference in how I feel, the energy I have again and how clearly I can think again! 😊 🎉
Please try it: just eliminate refined carbs, and processed foods as much as possible. Drink lots of water to flush the toxic glutens out of your system and rehydrate. Eat healthy fats, loke avocados, grass fed butters, olive oil and yes even free range chicken with the skin on it! ENJOY! 😉

Everything you've told is point on like a blue print of my experience. Been 7yrs. Got it in residency post chicken pox. Would have never put myself in so much stress if i knew id land up in eternal hells of sands of persia. Being a psychiatrist myself and in therapy n tons of meds and years of being bedridden im still searching for what it used to feel like normal. Long way from bed to being able work but still feels like i just got out of an train. Been through 2 earthquakes recently but i thought it was my usual vibration till things started falling down in my room.

Miguel- thank you so much for everything. I have been having dizzying panic attacks about my visual snow syndrome and CFS (I was even suicidal for a time). Thank you for bringing me the only comfort and clarity I have had in the last 7 years going through all of this. I have a question- what is your philosophy on coffee and caffeine? It seems to exacerbate all of my symptoms, but at the same time trying to quit has been an extreme challenge because of the withdrawals compounding with an already crippling syndrome. Do you recommend quitting for recovery? And if so, is it possible to go back to caffeine once recovered? Thank you so much again. You are a godsend 🙏

Wow! For you to be in ICU for a month scares the hypochondriac in me. How did you ever get to that stage because I feel like I’m not far from this and it’s terrifying me. I keep having short recovery and then more crashes yet when I feel better I still feel positive and look forward to continue improving but then out of the blue a bad night comes in to keep reversing the progress and followed by more bad nights even though I go to bed positive and feel good, fall asleep no problem, but wake up feeling horrible and panicking like I wasn’t breathing well.

I came down with this back in January 2023. Lost my job, my car, can’t work, can’t drive, stuck at home day in day out. I try to keep as busy and active as I can.
The wall of fatigue and amplified symptoms comes of strong and quick. I liken it to the dreaded Windows BSOD. Working, working, being productive and then BAM. Blue screen of death. Then you wait and wait for the system to restart while hoping that what you were working on wasn’t lost and you can pick up where you left off.
Stuck in a bad place symptom wise. Stress is the number one aggravator of symptoms and produces the worst and strongest of them.
Unfortunately, the wife and kids are the number one stressor in my life.
Thinking I might have to leave in order for me to get better.
Perfect example: I can barely walk, stand, see straight, with extreme whole body pain, dizziness, all of that, and the wife will get angry if I can’t cook dinner and pick a fight over it.
I get upset cook anyway, and my god the electrocution sensations I get in my back and across my chest is unreal.

I'm really sorry to hear about the challenges you've been facing. It sounds like you're dealing with a lot, and the comparison to a computer crashing can be quite apt for explaining how symptoms can come on so suddenly. It's important to prioritize your health and well-being, so if you find that stress and certain situations are worsening your symptoms, it might be worth considering ways to reduce stress and communicate your needs with your family.
Please remember that I'm not a doctor, but I'm here to provide support and information and and I have to see if we can even help you first. I'm 43 now. My labs and scans are always normal.

I went through several months of not being able to eat. I lost 50lbs the first month. I couldn't eat anything without severe stomach pain. I had to drink ensure supplement drinks and those alone packed on the weight. I don't think anything really changed, I just started eating through the pain. I've been back to having the severe pain again lately. It feels so much better if I just don't eat, but I know I can't live that way. I had scopes done yrs ago when it first happened and nothing was found. I'm so tired of being an enigma.

How can I get my doctors to listen to me. I am "functioning." I work through my fatigue and tiredness. But it isn't like it was. It takes everything to do anything. I'm a single mom so laying in bed forever is not an option, but sometimes I get migraines that put me down for days. I haven't looked into it deeply yet, but I spoke to 1 doctor who said I didn't have migraines, because most people don't. And when I told another I think I have cfs he said dismissively that's rare. Like... what? I am not well. I'm not debilitated but I have pain like I worked out daily, brain fog, gi issues, fatigue. My brain rarely feels like it's fully awake. But I feel like no one is listening. It's so weird

I feel you, as a mom, we feel responsibility to get food on the table everyday, to get chores done, taking care of every little things in the house. We eventually neglected taking care of ourselves. What I learned from my current condition is that I need to try to worry less about little things. Thing that can be ignored, try to ignore it. And don’t feel bad to ask for help, we need to speak up and let others know that “I really need help”. I’ll pray for God to send a guardian angel to be by your side 🙏❤

How do you get over fearing about getting anxiety during flare ups because you know anxiety makes things worse:(

    • @cfsrecovery
      @cfsrecovery  ปีที่แล้ว +4

I completely understand how the fear of experiencing anxiety during flare-ups can be challenging. You're right that anxiety can exacerbate symptoms, creating a vicious cycle. It all boils down to retraining your brain to handle the symptoms better to avoid going downhill towards a crash. This video will explain the details th-cam.com/video/Dhjm6_lknNM/w-d-xo.html
Try practicing mindfulness, meditation, relaxation and have a great network of support.
Remember, it's normal to experience anxiety during flare-ups, but with the right strategy, you can gradually reduce its impact on your well-being.

Regarding the muscle deconditioning, why is it that people without CFS, who lead sedentary lives don’t get deconditioning like a CFS person does?

    • @cfsrecovery
      @cfsrecovery  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Because it's not necessarily muscle deconditioning that occurs, it goes deeper than that. The nervous system that powers the muscles is down regulated as well. So in addition to muscle deconditioning, you have nervous system deconditioning. You're nervous system is unable to produce power output to your muscles since all it's energy is being prioritized towards fight or flight and survival mode.

CFS patients typically have 4 litres of blood rather than the normal 5. That is a major source of autonomic stress as the brain freaks out when it doesn't have enough blood. Do you address this symptom somewhere? Thanks for your help.
