Honestly, I'd like to see CIG make a dedicated mothership for the Furies. I'd picture a large ship with a 'spine' along which the Furies would be docked and behaving like turrets. But when the need arises they can then detach and attack individually.
I loaded up my Pirate Cat with 6 Furies day one and my god, it is the most fun I've had in this game in a long while. Opening all the doors, giving the all clear and having 6 people rocket out to wipe out every target it range is a beautiful sight to behold.
Xenothreat can feel like there are hundreds of ships at times. It got so much more exciting with the increased server pop. Just jumping from 50 to 100 players made such a big difference haha. I’ve actually received a “Sorry all of our landing bays are full” message from the station above Arc-Corp…was really weird. The station was buzzing with activity lol.
Thanks Oli. Your videos are one of the only reliable ways to see SC's progress. I'm not going to try and play again until at least v4.2. It way too often just leads to frustration atm

Fury seems like a neat little ship. Got a P72 a while back because of wanting more stuff like this. Fury is like a little TIE Interceptor from Star Wars. The look, but also kind of the mission profile of (no/thin) shields, no quantum/hyperdrive, and needs a carrier ship, but crazy fast and maneuverable and small and hard to hit while going anywhere. Kinda makes me wish I had one instead of the P72, but I do like it, too.
The fury is so fun. Its the first ship that you can stuff in just about anything. Ive been using it along with a stv asy transport vehicles in my cargo bay.
its funny but the Javelin and Bengal are flagged as "invincible" during IAE so this entire venture was moot. but still fun to see how you guys organize
U got me into this game a couple days ago. I’m struggling to enjoy with the amount of 30ks and other errors that are kicking me out mid mission and wasting a load of money. Is there a way to reduce these things ?
y'know your a Star Citizen fan when you recognize the ship your in, without knowing anything else. (what i'm talking about is in the intro like the first second, i go "is that a Caterpillar?" sure enough a couple seconds later that gets confirmed lol, haven't even played the game just watched a crap ton of videos lol)
I've always had this idea that a Caterpillar and 8 Tonks would be an amazing capital ship killer, you could pull up beside what needs to go bye bye and fire the cannons like ye pirates of olde, opening up a broadside and deleting what's on the other end
there really should be a gamemode similar to arena commander, but where theres teams of 25 or so, and they have a set budget to spend on ships, armor, guns, ammo, ground vehicles, etc and its a battlefield inspired mode with some respawning where you fight over a town on a planet or on a moon, or you fight over an asteroid station etc
I wouldn't say incredible, I'd say the caterpillar part was a buggy mess highlighting the issues of the dodgy physics grids. A caterpillar shield face can be taken down by a light fighter in 10 seconds. It can be dead in just over double that time. The idea that a pocket carrier won't work against anything but PVE where the NPC's are none-responsive due to server backend services collapsing... or a very accommodating enemy that just hangs around for a minute while you sort out deploying the fighters. At year 11 it's time we stopped saying "this will be incredible when BLANK BLANK and BLANK are implemented, and time we started saying no more funds from us until basic shit works. On an aside point, a snub fighter having the same DPS as a heavy fighter is absolute bollocks and indicative of the power creep that's happened over the years in aide of flogging the next shiny thing.
Maybe we shouldn't get light carries involved in close combat. Just deploy your snubs as soon as the enemy shows up on the radar and then move away from the action. Why should the caterpillar sit still right in front of a fighter for 30 second?
It would be awesome if the caterpillar had sleds on the cargo bays floor that can extend it outside the main hull so it's not so hard to get out of it w the fury.. that or guided landing/takeoff😗

Not sure how I feel seeing PeTong-CIG in that 890. I was sitting here totally amazed at the stability that server was showing with all those people in one area, when all weekend it usually took me about an hour of trying to call in any ship, multiple crashes and relogs, ridiculous rubber banding, for every ten minutes of gameplay I actually managed to get, before dying to a teleporting enemy, and starting it all over again. But I guess it makes sense; of course the devs are gonna help out in the background for a TH-camr planning a big event to showcase their game. I'm not even really annoyed at Ollie or anyone else; if you've got the clout to deserve special treatment, go for it, I certainly would. I'm just saying it feels a little dishonest with all these videos showing amazing huge group activities, and they're having very little server issues, while the rest of us struggle along with servers that aren't one tenth as stable.
Ollie ususally does not record during peak times. Playing while most other players are at work or school makes a huge difference compared to playing on free fly weekend nights. We also only get to see a short compilation created from several hours of buggy gameplay and it still looks messed up 😅
As someone who was part of the event I will say that many of the issues you are experiencing we all went through for the first hour and a half during the event. It was not documented because Olli was doing something else while we were setting up. PeTong was a spectator during the event, a viewer like you. There was absolutely no special treatment at all, and the stability of the server is only shown through clips here, it was not in fact running perfectly.
Wait until the Kraken and Liberator are out. That will be REAL carrier gameplay! I mean, light carrier but hey it's what we got. Still dreaming about a resurrected Tevarin capital carrier loaded with Talons. But will probably have to wait until Squadron 42 to see one, nevermind work in one.
I’ve been dying to get back in star citizen, but my computer being an absolute pile of shit is refusing to work, so I’m getting replacement parts soon :D

One of (if not the) best feature of the fury is those engine trails, and the more maneuvering the pilot does, the more swirly & "sparkly" they become

Somebody on reddit had the great idea of having them attach to the starfarer where the fuel pods would be allowing it to carry 6-8 Furys
It would be pretty awesome seeing a bunch of these zooming around during Xenothreat.
