  • In this episode I’m back on the 1970 Ford Bronco to build the bench seat. In a past episode I stripped down the rat infested stock seat to reveal damage and filth. Stick with me and watch till the end. #hotrod #ford #carshow #bronco #upholstery #customupholstery #customcars

    Spanky,
    A very nice job on building the foam. I am digging the blue plaid & off white.
    As always, Thank you for sharing your expertise & knowledge.

    Nice work.
    I just upgraded my turkey cutter for a bubba fish knife. It works way smoother than the turkey cutter.

    Can you list the size of each padding you used to layer them looks good thanks in advance

      Most of the time the padding is sized off the materials from the stock seating. Trying to keep it the same thickness and height. If layering use 1” or 2” foam to build your height and design. Thanks for watching

    Where do you get the fabrics you’re using and do you really need a industrial sewing machine just to do vinyl ?,. Thanks for sharing your work and tips!,.. GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

      I get my supplies from wholesale supply co. Most major cities have a few and you can find others online that ship. I’ve never tried it with a small sewing machine but it would probably be hard on it. I can send you more info if your interested just message me. Thanks for watching

    thank you for sharing this video and the time it took to produce it. What type of compressor do you have to spray the glue?

    • @SpankysHotRodsandCustoms
      @SpankysHotRodsandCustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      For the glue gun I use a small pancake compressor like a nail gun would use. Less than $100 at a big box store. The glue gun is from harbor freight and it’s a cheap paint gun @$15-20 and last a few years before swap it out for a new one.
      I’ve got 2 later videos on the channel of this seat snd the finished seat video as well. Thanks for watching and for your comments. Please subscribe and check out the latest videos on this seat.

    Good morning Young man. I have question regarding listing wires.
    I've watched these Bronco seat builds a few times so I know at the end the you install listing wires and hog rong them to something down on the seat frame.
    My question is did you hog ring listing wires to seat frame or are you just hoping you find a seat spring piece to crimp the seat cover listing hog ring to? Thanks as always.

      @SpankysHotRodsandCustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can add a second wire but it’s usually easy to find a spring if your seat has a spring. The listing wire is there to even the pull on the cover so the seem looks even and not pulled in areas. Hope this helps and ask more questions if needed. Good luck and thanks for your support by watching the channel

    A Model A pickup doesn't have a lot of room in the cab. Can a foam seat be mad comfortable enough?

      Yes I’ve driven 10 hours in my roadster and felt great afterwards. I show how to build that seat in a few of my videos. Thanks so much for watching

      Look up my 1932 ford roadster seat build from a year or so ago. I get into detail on building it from scratch
