    Moved out here 3 and a half years ago. Started out in Deadwood but it was up on Stage Run Rd (newer apartment building) so slightly detached from town. Loved the neighborhood but not the neighbors so moved to Spearfish after 9 months. Love Spearfish and in my biased opinion is where it's at...and we are at the gateway to the canyon. We don't have a ton but we have all that we need, and anything else can be found in RC.

    Great Video! We moved to Lead/Deadwood area from Virginia Beach, Va. I love that you call the hills mountains, because I do too. Moving from sea level where everything is flat these are mountains!

      Looking into that area coming from Chesapeake, VA. I heard that Lead/Deadwood is the only area in the hills that gets significant amounts of snow which is what we are after. The housing market is few and far between currently but hoping to find something soon!

    I find these videos much more beneficial and impactful when there is a cut away video to the towns themselves for context.

    Custer has built up a lot in the last 15 years. I was there in 2005 and spent the night on our way to visit the faces and there was only a Pizza Hut to eat at. The diner down town was only open for certain hours. Came through last November and it is a lot bigger now than back then, totally different place.

    I live in a tourist town in Colorado, it has gone to hell from the tourists and the prices are double what you quote here. Spearfish is like Aspen and that ain't good

    If and when you come to do some research on Hot Springs, feel free to hit me up. I live here and would love to tell you about some of the amenities here, like the Moccasin Springs mineral water spa, and Buffalo Dreamer, which I work at. Lol

      We love Moccasin Springs and Buffalo Dreamer. My opinion and my daughter’s Buffalo Dreamer is the best restaurant in South Dakota USA. We also love Antunez in Spearfish.

    Will you be following this video with another one but with a map and some B-roll? Can you also comment on crime and corruption? There are several sources that warn of both, so the small towns, long expanses, etc. make that worrisome. Your current governor sounds like a breakthrough, but can she survive the corruption around her, root it out, improve things, or is she part of it, losing to it? Can you even safely comment on the topic? It’s a small world there, as you describe it, after all. 😅

      Watertown is the best place to live east river if you ask me. Right in between Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, right off the interstate, nice lake, nice people, etc. not too big or too small. Opinions will vary strongly though ha. I do get tired of the diesel truck boys being loud all the time but they’re mostly here for Lake Area Technical College (formerly Institute) and it’s a phenomenal school. I’ve been to multiple colleges and this is by far the best and most affordable I’ve ever seen, personally. Cheers.

    Which of those towns have hospitals (outside Rapid City)? And is there a college in any of those towns?

    • @jproductions6208
      @jproductions6208 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I believe almost all of them have hospitals, but they are all owned by Monument Health in Rapid City. They're all small hospitals too, which means that you almost always need to be transferred to Rapid City to be treated. The only college is Black Hills State University in Spearfish.

    How about price per square foot (building)?

    • @joiverson2917
      @joiverson2917 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a huge variance. We are currently building in Boulder Canyon. Our builder said it will be $180-$200 sf. Again, it depends on what you want inside. We are doing all hardwood floors and outdoor kitchen etc. so it will be on the higher end of that

    • @stick9648
