This guy made me laugh. He was cruising in the Vette while comparing the sound to that of the Mercedes Benz which was shown driving on a track (at which point you heard virtually no noise from the Corvette Grand Sport). However, when he pressed down on the throttle and accelerated, you heard this beautiful sound from the Grand Sport's exhauts. I wonder how he felt after that happened. The guy's a Joke!
Wait.. first showed it quiet, then at 1:30 QUITE loud. NPP exhaust is an option as well, rather inexpensive, and solves your pre-tween "noise" desire (I have it, for the same reasons).
You can hear at the end the vette had more noise then when they compared the amg to the c6. I haven't heard an amg black series but I know that corvettes have a decent amount of sound coming from the engine. My c5 sounded loud from the outside amd decent on the inside. and I know c6s (especially with the optional mild to wild exhaust) can sound good too. Just google stock c6 grand sport exhaust and you can hear it for yourself.
And AMG in the in house tunner branch so its not a stock MB like the Vette was stock. Also a black series is an extra level of tunning over regular AMG tunning. So it is a tunner car. Thanks for playing.
I completely agree on the exhaust, luckily they have remedied this now with the double mode exhaust option on the C7. Also why was there nothing about the handling? Granted the Grand Sport is no Z06/ZR1 but they still are great on the track.

You might get the proper noise if you were to push the pedal to the floor, like it was being done in the AMG, you biased fool. Towards the end, there was a bleak moment where there was decent acceleration, and the awesome exhaust noise could be hear in the cabin. How can you compare the acceleration result in the track to the cruise result that the Grand Sport was being judged by? What a biased observation from them!!! Very disappointing, I expect better from Fifth Gear. I like watching but..

Terrible review. The exhaust is variable and he probably had it on quiet which not only cuts 2 of the 4 pipes out it inhibits the horse power. What a duffus.

There are valves in the exhaust so please fifth gear do your homework first!

In-house tuners include M, AMG, Quattro, Polstar, SVT, etc. In-house tuning refers to an upgraded/performance oriented version of the base car.

They had the dual- mode on the c6 waaaay back then.
Yet 10 seconds later he shows the loud engine as he starts from a standing stop.
No sound from the vet when the mic is 2 kilometres away. It's a physics thing guys..haha

This was filmed back in 2011 genius. The new Corvette was still being hidden from the masses. And the Grand Sport WAS the newest Corvette back then.
