Oh crap Simon. After all that. I guess that’s working with logs. I see what u mean if it was a thicker log u could have fixed that. I don’t know if you know Bob Ross the painter, he is on You Tube, he said “ we don’t make mistakes we have happy accidents “ . He was a happy guy! 🤣 Hey first time I have seen that debarked tool used. That works great! Faster than a draw knife . Hang in there your doing great. 👍👍👍

I kind of knew some fail would occur eventually, but it’s a good learning opportunity. Bob sounds like a guy with the right mindset! The Log Wizard is great. Thinks it’s made in Canada. Gets the job done. As always, thanks for your kind words! 😃

Robert Chambers suggests placing a few logs on the wall before choosing the final one. It is easier to visualize the problem like this instead of the new log just laying on the ground. I highly recommend his book "Log construction manual" 2016 edition and his instructional dvd "Building log homes". Here is a bit from his dvd th-cam.com/video/XMxCL8WaQAQ/w-d-xo.html

Awesome tip! I’ll definitely try to be more mindful when choosing logs. I will shortly move everything to the spot where it will be. Will try to organize things better at that location.
I’ll for sure check out the book and that link. Always fun to learn new things. Thanks a lot 😄🙏
