The Subway series, DBacks and Angels win their first title, Marlins take down the evil empire, Red Sox and White Sox end their massive title droughts, Cards win their first title in almost two decades, Rockies make their only appearance in a WS despite getting swept, Phillies first title in 28 years against newcomer Rays, Yankees.......yeah, and Giants first title in like what 56 years? It was an awesome decade to see. Not to be outdone by the 2010s, but certainly underrated massively!

One of 2 times in my life I ever saw my Dad cry 1st was when my grandmother passed away the other was when the Angels won the World Series and I was blessed to be in Section 305 of Game 6 & 7 with him just turned 3 Years old at the time Dad got free season tickets due to him working at Southern California Edison for 30 years up to that point included the playoffs during those days Man was that an Experience of a lifetime I don't remember a lot of things from that age Game 6 & 7 are burned into my head I remember when Darin Erstad Caught that final out I have Never seen that stadium go that insane before or since brings back so many good memories I've still got my thunder sticks floating around somewhere
I met Scott Spezio a couple of years after the Angels won the World Series. He was at a cards show in Anaheim and I was talking to him about this game and this at bat which along with Kirk Gibsons home run in the 1988 World Series was the single most dramatic moment I have ever witnessed in sports. Like the Dodgers in that series the odds were against the Angels coming back especially since they were down 5-0. When I asked Spezio about that moment that night he said that going into that 8th inning when the Angels rallied they never held their heads and always believed that they were going back and somehow at least tie the game even though were down 5-0. He said when they headed back to the dugout for that record breaking rally of an inning to start their at bat he told me that they believed that because they had done it all year that year and also did it against the 2 previous teams they had played in the playoffs up to that point in the 2 previo-us series that particular post season against the Yankees and Twins. Going into that World Series and into that game they believed they would not only rally and come back with that relentless offensive attack of theirs that season but also would win. I remember vividly watching this game and thinking to myself that would somehow come back and pull it off. They did. One of the great games ever. The following night the Angels celebrated their 1st World title. This current Dodgers World Series team that won this year reminds of me of that Angels team. They are both World Champions will forever be champions to.

I remember this day like yesterday. Growing up in Anaheim, just after my pop Warner practice ended. My dad and I walked into a packed pizza parlor and Scott Speez is at bat, down five. Place was going nuts by the end of it. A close second Angels moment for me was Kennedy’s hat trick against the twins. We’ll be back one day

Never noticed til now and closer cleaning up of the slo motion replay in Final Cut for fun 10:56 that ball actually does skim the very inside of his left inner thigh. It’s breaking so much so late with his left leg slightly forward, you can see his upper thigh have a sudden decrease that isn’t consistent with his pants losing slack. He’s already stretching as the ball passes so any new creases after would be strange. But that’s exactly where the ball passes just out of view of the camera. Not enough to throw off the trajectory of the ball but I suspect slow it down just enough to somehow be caught otherwise that’s likely a wild pitch Hence why I assume he was so cognizant to get out of the way with Kent on 2nd and would advance bonds to a possible 2 RBI scoring position.
It was so heartbreaking for me as a Giants fan to see my team lose this series when it looked like they were going to win. All is well though as they made up for this loss and in spades just eight years later. 🏆🏆🏆!!

Buck and McCarver's man crushes on Bonds and Baker was neaseating. Bonds was a beast but had the personality of an injured snake. Baker is one of those guys who gets tons of credit as a manager but his teams were always loaded with talent.
One of the many things I could never stand about Joe Buck doing baseball games is that he is always a freakin wet blanket. It's the 9th inning, two outs, nobody on and the home team is about to win. Instead of just keeping his pie hole shut and letting play out, he's starts rambling on about how it wouldn't take much for the Giants to get right back into it. Let the fans of the team that's ahead enjoy their moment for Pete's sake. It's tense enough as it is without the unneeded commentary.

RJ I wouldn’t go the far. I think it’s just style. The 2007 Red Sox all grew beards before it was fashionable and they did it to show they were different. They were very serious, as history shows. Then it caught on. In the mid 70s players wore mustaches regularly, and perms for guys were even in fashion! I used to look down in the bullpen from the bleachers and see a bunch of poodle heads!

Buck and McCarver's man crushes on Bonds and Baker was neaseating. Bonds was a beast but had the personality of an injured snake. Baker is one of those guys who gets tons of credit as a manager but his teams were always loaded with talent.
One of the many things I could never stand about Joe Buck doing baseball games is that he is always a freakin wet blanket. It's the 9th inning, two outs, nobody on and the home team is about to win. Instead of just keeping his pie hole shut and letting play out, he's starts rambling on about how it wouldn't take much for the Giants to get right back into it. Let the fans of the team that's ahead enjoy their moment for Pete's sake. It's tense enough as it is without the unneeded commentary.

My guess is because Glaus had a reputation as a free-swinging, feast-or-famine type of hitter and they might have thought Nenn could strike him out.
While Glaus did hit 30 home runs in 2002, he hit just .250 and struck out 144 times

RJ I wouldn’t go the far. I think it’s just style. The 2007 Red Sox all grew beards before it was fashionable and they did it to show they were different. They were very serious, as history shows. Then it caught on. In the mid 70s players wore mustaches regularly, and perms for guys were even in fashion! I used to look down in the bullpen from the bleachers and see a bunch of poodle heads!
