It's better if you win in your first fight against red. Takes a bunch of grinding and strategically making a team but it's totally doable he freaks out and tells you to pretend he won for story-line sake lmao pays out a lot too

My first playthrough I did just that without cheating. Led off with Poliwhirl and it was smooth sailing

I love that this game is made up of several popular fan theories, the war, Blue's Raticate, Red being a test tube baby made by Oak, haha it's great.

It was some random theory about how Oak made two babies in a lab, both were physically perfect but one was completely emotionless and unable to speak which was given to a single woman from Pallet town to raise, that was Red. (Literally what happened in this game except Blue is natural, not made in a lab)

Nintendo or Game Freak would never have a Rocket version. Its a game designed towards younger people(I realize that adults play it), so having a game where you beat up people and steal there Poke'Mon wouldn't make much sense.
Gotta say I love this playthrough that you did Andrew also i love the finale upgrade where your drip out in a suit and cornrows and the throwing animation for the pokeball

Not going to lie it was awesome seeing a classic storyline from my childhood told from the side of the villians and also another fellow Jolteon lover. Will forever be considered my starter no matter what game it is
Apparently in this game you can catch the mother marowak, but after doing so, the game treats it like you ran, but the pokemon gets added to your team/pc anyway, but to progress the story, you need to re-battle it.

Fun Fact: you can find an invisible pp up in the rocket hideout below the game corner and sell it so you have money to buy pokeballs and evolution stones right from the get go.
Got an arkanine, Polywrath and Jolteon early on that way and defeated red in mount moon.
He has custom text if you manage to beat him and you get a lot of money from him

The humour style and the references to popular theories (red being a robot for example) really make this feel like it was written by a pokemon fan from the 2000, i like that while it can get a bit ""edgy"" (like vaguely kinda but not really) every now and then yet keeps the balance so the shock can fuction is very well done

I'm quite surprised at how well I enjoyed watching this. I think the narration was very entertaining, mixed with genuine curiosity about a pokehack based around team rocket.
Love all the missions and lore added. This is quite professional for a fan hacked game.

I used only 7 pokemon the whole playthrough.
Raticate, Pidgeot, Vaporeon, Nidoking, Butterfree, Raichu. And at the end replacing Raticate with Missingno

It's been a really long time since I had this much fun playing a Pokemon game. Truly amazing work done by the team. Pokemon Rocket Edition is now my #1 favourite Pokemon game of all time by far.

Looks like this takes some elements from the Pokemon Special/Adventures manga in which Blaine was a member of Team Rocket (along with other gym leaders) and used his DNA to help create Mewtwo, giving him something of a psychic link to the pokemon for a while.
