You as a pair, are naturals! Love Dan’s commentary on the day’s plans. Sleeping whilst camping is always tough especially as we all get older. Makes me think of those soldiers in WW1 and 2. Must have been miserable.
Not many of us could retain this level of enthusiasm after having an hour's sleep in a wind sock and then riding 10-hours through cold, fog and rain. Well done chaps. 👏
I've been watching you routinely for a while now, but this trip is my favourite. I've been sitting in my room, on my laptop, audibly gasping and wincing for the last hour and a bit. Usually I zone out during riding montages on most biking influencers, but on this trip I've been glued the whole time, even getting emotional. Thank you for this, it's been. breathtaking. I'm going on this trip whether anybody comes with me or not!
Love you guys both, danny is that friend that everyone wish to have, he is such a genuine nice human being and always smiling, God bless you both and I wish your friendship forever prosper.
Look at Danny, laughing his way through every day, yet Freddie talks of all the fog and cold and rain and lack of sleep... and the long days. Well done chaps - and to Monika's laugh in the last five minutes as she videos the Prologue... lovely touch of music through the boring bits keeps one awake! Thanks for the stop outtakes and convo describing the journey, each feels it differently.
Another great biking travelogue vid, Freddie. It is one of the downsides of touring by bike that once you raise the average speed a bit, and you don’t even need to be pushing on that much, you start to have to concentrate a lot more on the road, the surface, your lines and tend to miss a lot more of the scenery, especially when you put a time limit on it. I’ve tried to talk my other half into learning to ride over the years but she always says she prefers being on the back, as she gets to take in the view. She sees and remembers things I never even saw, as I was focussing on the strip of tarmac in front of us.
Freddie, that was one of your best videos, Danny is such a good friend and riding mate, plus the fun of wild camping, freedom ! Get yourself a jet boil, a new tent and explore with Monica, much love from Mark in France 👍
Thank you Danny, Freddie and Monika for taking us, and cutting out Danny's swearing so successfully, it's certainly made me think about heading north, although I might wait till next year for longer, warmer days. And I loved those shots, the two of you riding side by side, it just sums of the joy and companionship of riding with a good friend. And Freddie, I'm so pleased you've discovered the joys of tenting, if not quite how to set yours up so it's less saggy. You've got an entire new, and expensive, hobby to indulge yourself in, but think, every £100 saved ON Airbnbs is £100 worthy of enticing gadgetry you can treat yourself to. Coincidentally, I see Matt at @ClassicRides has put our a video this morning, with a Q&A no doubt talking about some of the gear he straps to his Bonnie when he goes camping. What better way to start your new camping adventure?
Absolutely love that road glide. This reminds me of my last Scotland trip with a mate! We are long overdue another and this is inspiration to arrange one. Thanks
"Semi-epic camping trip". Oh, that''ll be comedy gold. One trip and Freddie is off to Everest Base Camp. Love the video has always, Monika you have the patience of a saint.
This took me back. Great video. Done Scotland and the Islands many times, mainly on adventure style bikes with a fly rod strapped on and even a pair of chest waders in one pannier on a couple of occasions. You may experience all 4 seasons in one day but I have memories and images imprinted in my mind I will never forget. Miss it, as I haven't had a bike for over 5 years. I like living it vicariously through your adventures. Keep up the good work
Motorcycle camping? Try Switzerland. It's like a paradise for motorcyclists. Safe, free parking everywhere, and the views and the roads are simply stunning. Plus most of the campsites are placed in the best spots you can imagine - lakeside, mountain passes, next to jaw dropping waterfalls. Paradise.
First time I did Applecross it was on a Kawasaki GT750 fully loaded with my wife on the back late at night. I had no idea it was there, nor its reputation. Down in the valley the sun had set and it was dark, as we crested the top of the pass the Sun was still setting and we were greeted by a herd of deer spread across the road. Marvellous stuff.
First time I did Applecross I was on a fully loaded GL1000 with a huge fairing. The rain was going sideways in the ferocious wind, and like yourself I had no idea what the road was about. Entertaining? Yes. Was I concerned? No. Dangerous? No. Just need to take your time and plan the u-bends as you approach them.
That was Brilliant Freddie, have been on all those roads this year which was a promise I made myself at New Year , those distances are huge on these roads, we did take a little longer and so far have done 3 trips. Loved this thank you.
Wow love it what a wonderful adventure Freddie and Danny! You done so well on your timing wow. Monica well done on the editing had no idea with Dannys swearing lol! smooth video. So funny on way back Danny still had his helmet on while he was about to eat at a service ha! Thanks so much all of you for such a great adventure I look forward to more. Many thanks Charlotte
Hi Freddie. A couple of fantastic videos, really enjoyed them both (perhaps a bit less of the talking bit and more of the riding, but that’s ok). You should see the tent I took with me to France, goes up in minutes, little longer to take down and pack up, but it worked a treat when you need to save time on the camping element of a trip. If we get chance to meet up, I’ll be able to show you how it all works. All the best, Richard from Cornwall!
I like the talking, I like the insight into the experience, and by the sound of it a lot of the riding was in mist so we might well have missed out. But we're all different, and that's part of the joy of life.
Hi guys . enjoying watching your trip , brought back memories of me doing my deliveries up to Applecross in my 18 tnne Truck up the cattlepass road as its called . I have just gone and taken my CBT at the age of 66 and this is one of the trips i would like to do on a Motorbike .
So this video just made my day 😊. As an expat of the west coast I have not been able to get back to Scotland for years due work, family etc. Seeing you guys enjoying the drive down the A82 and stopping in the town I went to school (Helensburgh) was fantastic! Many thanks for the entertainment, please keep it coming 👍
Awesome video Freddie! I could look at Danny's riad king for hours, what a stunning bike! I was pretty anxious seeing him filter on that catamaran by the end of the video but he did it like a boss. Happy both of you made it home safe and enjoyed the experience.
Hi Freddie and Danny, I did the NC500 on my V7 back in May. Starting from Dorset and riding anticlockwise. I allowed 8 days, 2 days to get to Inverness, 4 days round the NC500 and then 2 days to get home, total mileage just over 2k. Stayed in b&B’s and hotels as didn’t want to add the camping load to the bike. Amazing views almost all the way round but Applecross experience was similar to yours wet and foggy with very limited visibility. If I go again I would allow 7 days for the NC500 loop just to allow more time to stop and explore. Ride safe.
I've loved watching you go on these long trips over the years. I don't usually do much travel, just use my bike as a commuter and around the town. In a few weeks I'll be taking my bike on an 1,100 mile trip from Houston TX to Colorado and then 1,100 back after staying there for 3 days. Dividing the trip into 3 days to get there so around 350 miles a day. This will be my first really long journey on the bike so I hope it goes well. Hope my bike holds up as well as your Triumph
Camping - to infinity and beyond. Good film, while everyone's waxing over the beauty of Scotland I'm reminded of just how bloody bleak it can be. You've both proved your stamina but I'm not sure what else it did for you. If you rode south the same distance you could get some decent weather & beautiful scenery. That would be my choice. But you did tough it out so well done anyway!
I went up the Barrach na Baa (Applecross Pass) on my 35 year old 2-stroke YB100 last year - piece of pi*s!! I jest slightly but it was a clear day and I’m still here to carp about it 😅. Seriously the Hardnott Pass is the biggy - much more tricky and steeper from Applecross - I still need to try that on the YB before it “retires”.
Well done guys. One HELL of a ride. I couldn't do it nor would I want to do it...I'm just too old and too slow and like to take in the scenery along the way....but hey, you young guys go for it! 😎👍
A82 is a fantastic road ...one of my favourites with myself being from Scotland its definitely my usual go to run for the day ...im glad you got to experience it and happy yous appreciated it.... love your vids Freddie . Thanks man
A82 Glencoe is the spectacular bit of road lol. Amazed you both had no idea about this road before your trip. Glad you enjoyed it and Glad you stayed in Helensburgh. More great roads up here...please ask about those for your next Scottish trip.
Glad you liked Glencoe (A82), thats my favourite too. Again though, no time to stop and explore the beauty spots you passed without even knowing they were there. A week is too little, two weeks and do the NC500 entire too
Really nice to follow this Freddie, not my type of trip these days but I've done very similar in the past when I had last time. Also there are so many who poo poo the 'get up and go' approach you took but most of them never go further than the local bike meet 😉
Great video Freddie, get yourself a better tent something like the Decathlon 2P 2 second tent, it makes taking down and putting up the tent much quicker. Looking forward to seeing your next journey.
This has been a great video to watch, I’ve loved it. Scotland is a wonderful country and the harshness of it you outlined, with the midges and weather only adds to its wonder. Look forward to the next. Thank you 🙏
One of your best videos ever Freddie. I’m lucky that I II live on the SE side of Edinburgh and I plan to do some amazing trips around scotland. I’m so lucky to have this all on my doorstep. Again, great video.
This was epic, Scotland has some stunning roads and scenery, I live on the Scottish islands and love it. You really need to spend more time up here but it was an outstanding effort from you both and still smiling at the end of it. So good to see the Bonneville getting used and enjoyed. Ps. I love the Jeep, who cares about what potential issues it could have, all vehicles have their problems, what's amazing is you guys love it and use it for what it was designed for.....adventure. Monika's wee laugh at the end when you talked about a European camp trip made me smile...she knows you. Great video as always.
Great video. I see you stayed in Helensburgh along from the naval base. It’s actually a very affluent area, there is thought to be more millionaires in HB than any other part of Scotland. Loved the video❤ The road of the day is GlenCoe A82 where the Skyfall was filmed.
A good tip for tent camping mostly in wet air like that is put down a throw sheet of plastic for painting under your tent so you do get the ground moisture pulled up into your tent bottom and it gives you somewhere clean to kneel on when you setting up and tear down. Your buddy got his pants pretty dirty from that. Great video, thanks for taking us along
Epic. The idea of a legs-out cruiser as mountain and general tourer is mighty appealing. Having ridden and owned predominantly sports bikes for over 40 years just the body position is a different relaxed mindset. That screen tho' must be glorious.
Freddie, I just came back from a tour of the highlands with Biker BnB. This video brought back some good memories. Although we had blue skies for most of it!
Some of the most beautiful riding roads I've ever seen. Scotland seems to be a very spiritual historic place. I miss dressing for colder weather while riding sometimes.
Done the NC500 couple years ago and spent 5 days which would have liked 7 really to do and see properly without burnout. Difficulties are accommodation on these routes as not many b&Bs or lodges, so tent and camping is a favourite but that comes with its problems, midges, bad nigh sleep, uncomfortable etc. Also key to try to pick good weather as it can be awful even in summer especially this year. Rather than try to do too many miles im all about slower pace, see the sites and pace myself these days max 6 hours a day but prefer 4hrs being 2 in morning and 2 in afternoon. Enjoyed the videos guys, awesome. 👍
Great vlog Freddie Great friends on a fantastic trip. You don't need lots of days to appreciate Scotland. I did the same although the weather was kinder for me. Glencoe is the road from Fort William to Loch lomand. It makes you feel so small with the huge mountains all around. Im going around Skye in spring in a 3 day round trip from Hinckley. You still can appreciate and take it all in on long rides. Look forward to your next camping trips 🤙👍
The joys of riding and camping in Britain, you've just got to take the wet with the dry 😅 Great video and scenery, theres nothing like the feeling of unpacking after a proper run and know you're there safe and sound. I definitely need to get back to Scotland sometime but think given the prices I'm hearing, I'll be camping everywhere.
Well done lads this is what biking is all about.Your videos are superb Freddie please keep them coming I think if you travel in the highlands earlier in the year there are no MIDGIES 😅😅but again Freddie well done and thank you.
My wife and I honeymooned in Scotland last year around this time and I think I i know the exact area you were talking about when you were discussing your favorite road. We took the train from Glasgow to For William and the scenery was just amazing with the rolling hills.
7:18 Danny you can get waterproof trousers with zips up the sides -- far easier to put on and they don't even have to be motorcycle branded to keep the water out.
You as a pair, are naturals! Love Dan’s commentary on the day’s plans. Sleeping whilst camping is always tough especially as we all get older. Makes me think of those soldiers in WW1 and 2. Must have been miserable.

Oh and you might’ve been knackered when you arrived , but you were in a better state than the render on number 46….
This is a very good point. We were surprised by our low average moving speed😳
And this is true, re the render😆
That's pretty deep. Taking it all in.
Freddie, that was one of your best videos, Danny is such a good friend and riding mate, plus the fun of wild camping, freedom ! Get yourself a jet boil, a new tent and explore with Monica, much love from Mark in France 👍
Oh , i thought your camping days were over after the T.E. Lawrence trip. A true creator , suffering for your art. 🙏
haha Fred E Lawrence.
Simply the best Freddie, with all the usual great views. Absolutely awesome!
"Epic Camping Trip"....Cue Monica's laughter......
Thank you Danny, Freddie and Monika for taking us, and cutting out Danny's swearing so successfully, it's certainly made me think about heading north, although I might wait till next year for longer, warmer days. Yes… Classic Rides Matt is a real source of knowledge for camping g trips… a great channel
Thank you Freddie ! Super relaxing and entertaining. Made me feel very willing to ride in Scotland ! What a nice bloke, this Danny! Cheers!
Absolutely love that road glide. This reminds me of my last Scotland trip with a mate! We are long overdue another and this is inspiration to arrange one. Thanks
Danny comes across a lovely bloke, great video and what a friend….well done the both of you…🦦🦦🦦
"Semi-epic camping trip". Oh, that''ll be comedy gold. One trip and Freddie is off to Everest Base Camp. Love the video has always, Monika you have the patience of a saint.
That was Ironman Freddie ! The A82 at Glencoe always delivers ! And nice to hear the Wellerman song ! 🇬🇧
Joe from The Wurks certainly is one world class mechanic
That Bonneville is now bulletproof
i think i heard someone giggling at the epic camping trip😁🤣😂🤣
I don't comment too often but some of the footage here is excellent. Long term viewer of your channel Freddie. Fantastic video, well done 👍🏻

Thank you for sharing the story and experiences.
I love the scene at 8:05 where your in the rain and then cut to a spectacular valley where the sun came out. Great video
Well done you two, you had an awesome road trip 👍
Great videos, interesting and entertaining. Nice one Freddie 👍
Another great video, thanks and a challenging ride time-wise. No disasters!! Danny was obviously a good influence 😀😀
Awesome short trip Freddie. Big distances and long days make for the best most memorable stories.
Life is about adventures Freddie boy and this sure was a great adventure!

Thankyou both for sharing,Scotland’s mountains were as high as the Himalayas many many years ago.
"Like the mountain wishing to become a stone, all you need is patience."
12:24 spectacular landscape! 😍
The journey continues through the beautiful landscapes looking forward to this one ❤
Thanks Kaizen, have a great day!
Lovely scenery and accompanying music - thanks guys
That was Brilliant Freddie, have been on all those roads this year which was a promise I made myself at New Year , those distances are huge on these roads, we did take a little longer and so far have done 3 trips. Loved this thank you.

Freddie craming in all the adventure before summer says it's final goodbye for 2024....nice one you guys (literally) smashed it!!..👍👍👍

Really enjoyed this one, great editing as well. You can see Freddie smiling in his crash helmet in every head shot. Living the dream.
Extremely dangerous mileage in such a small amount of time😮 l was so relieved you guys got back safely.
Safety is paramount.
8:31 The sun has started to shine and the X4 does not brush away its own shadow 😉😂👍

Freddie does love those wet deserts!
I went up the Barrach na Baa (Applecross Pass) on my 35 year old 2-stroke YB100 last year - piece of pi*s!! I jest slightly but it was a clear day and I’m still here to carp about it 😅. Seriously the Hardnott Pass is the biggy - much more tricky and steeper from
Applecross - I still need to try that on the YB before it “retires”.
The applecross pass is amazing,I did it on my 28 years old bmw GS 1100 this year , I’m amazed a YB 100 could manage it .👍🏻
The Hardnott is my favourite road in England!🖤
Agree hardknott and wrynos pass better
Think that's your best yet Sir!
I can never tire of that wonderful Scottish scenery, it’s worth all of your efforts and layers of clothing! . Beautifully filmed as ever Freddie 👍
Great trip , thank you for taking us with you
Well done guys. One HELL of a ride. I couldn't do it nor would I want to do it...I'm just too old and too slow and like to take in the scenery along the way....but hey, you young guys go for it! 😎👍

Fabulous mini series Freddie, thoroughly enjoyed it. You need to get back over to Ireland on the bike ! 😀😀
Thank you 🙏
Awesome, and the music is perfect. Thank you and greetings from germany.
One of your best videos ever Freddie.
I’m lucky that I II live on the SE side of Edinburgh and I plan to do some amazing trips around scotland. I’m so lucky to have this all on my doorstep.
Again, great video.

While I'm watching your video, Freddie, I find myself waving back at everyone who's waving to you by instinct 😅
I couldn’t enjoy a trip like that. More of a slog than anything. More days needed.😊
Love that you had the wellermen in there for music.
Great video. I see you stayed in Helensburgh along from the naval base. It’s actually a very affluent area, there is thought to be more millionaires in HB than any other part of Scotland. Loved the video❤ The road of the day is GlenCoe A82 where the Skyfall was filmed.
Beautiful scenery
Wonderful … the filming of that Harley as the Sun came down made me ache for a road trip with a good mate… well done Guys … 👍🏻
Great stuff. Really enjoyed that. 👍🏻
Freddie, I just came back from a tour of the highlands with Biker BnB. This video brought back some good memories. Although we had blue skies for most of it!
Really enjoyed this, Freddie Scotland looks incredible on those bikes
It was unforgettable🏴❤️
Love this!
Awesome!! 👍🏍🏍👍
Some of the most beautiful riding roads I've ever seen. Scotland seems to be a very spiritual historic place. I miss dressing for colder weather while riding sometimes.

Loving the bikes.. Scotland is great...we been a couple of times the scenery is never-ending...👍👍👍
Amazing, really loved this well done
Another awesome video

Three days from Hinckley will be great going! I’m tempted to do a Spring Scottish trip, so our paths may cross:)
@@FreddieDobbs you can't miss my lucifer red Triumph Tiger 955i oll boy 👍😄
15:00 wow such a beautiful road and country
Nice to see you doing road videos with mates 😊
The joys of riding and camping in Britain, you've just got to take the wet with the dry 😅 Great video and scenery, theres nothing like the feeling of unpacking after a proper run and know you're there safe and sound. Awesome great watch 🙏🙏
Thank you. Really enjoyed watching that - but also hilarious - how could you not know you were riding through Glen Coe?
Well done lads this is what biking is all about.Your videos are superb Freddie please keep them coming I think if you travel in the highlands earlier in the year there are no MIDGIES 😅😅but again Freddie well done and thank you.
That’s very kind if you to say so, thank you!
Enjoyable, thanks. Loving that you are really using that Bonnie as was intended, not garage queening it like so many others 👍
amazing, thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing your epic adventure. Get a decent tent it makes all the difference!
My wife and I honeymooned in Scotland last year around this time and I think I i know the exact area you were talking about when you were discussing your favorite road. We took the train from Glasgow to For William and the scenery was just amazing with the rolling hills.
Epically jealous Fred.
Well done. 🇦🇺
7:18 Danny you can get waterproof trousers with zips up the sides -- far easier to put on and they don't even have to be motorcycle branded to keep the water out.
Even with the high mileage, looks like a brilliant trip, although I’d get a bigger tent mate!
You bit off more than you can chew .
You did it though .
Well done guys . 👏
