As an avid reader, I've been enjoying being part of your reading journey and hearing your recommendations. It will be awesome if you bring back you book club!
As an avid reader I really enjoy your videos centered around what you’re reading/currently reading! I’d love to see more content around this in the future :)
Loved the book reviews! You will love the Kindle. You will have to get used to it. It took me several book reads to fall in love with it. I love having books in queue and I only need to take the Kindle along with me. But, I do treasure my bookshelves!
Thank you so much for the Trick Mirror recommendation, i think you mentioned it in an instagram story a while ago and I LOVED it! I took it out from the library and I want to go out and buy it so I can highlight, dog-ear, etc.
Differen is a retenoid. It does take time for it to work but I use it for cystic acne a couple of times a week. You can use it as an anti-aging reten oid as well all over the face but Avery small amount. It takes months for it to really work but it's worth it.
Loveee the video and pleaseee more books lol..... Also would love to see how you pack without using luggage and your thoughts on your kindle paper white
I’m so happy I watched this! I feel like we’re on the couch chatting. You have inspired me to start reading again in 2020. I will be picking up a few of your recommendations for books. Healthy habit ✨✨✨
Dr. Bronner liquid soap is great for cleaning brushes. I use the peppermint one. Thank you for the book recommendations. I've read a few hyped up, trendy titles recently that left me cold so it's great to get pointers.
Differin worked great for me! You definitely have to use it for the full 12 week period or however long the package says and I did purge really bad the first couple of weeks but now that I’ve finished it my face is so much better. I haven’t had any cystic acne since I finished it
Hey anna, im a Gp, yep differin is only available on prescription in the UK it is topical retinoid. So yeah really good product. However, can’t be used if pregnant. Great video
Elisabeth Kilcourse You can actually buy it from Boots for about £28 for a tube. I think you have to see the pharmacist in store or you can buy online, fill in a questionnaire, a pharmacist reviews, then posts out to you! It must say in the latest BNF that it’s no longer script only? xx
Diferin is a great product.I use it. But not a spot product. In the US it was released for acne use only. But... It work for dark spots and wrinkles as well. It is the lowest level retin a . So high level sun screen is a MUST. You need to be using a separate sunscreen, not just makeup, with at least spf 30. Diferin should be used at night. To help with dryness you can use it on top of your mositurizer. It can be used for the whole face. A pea size dot or less is all you need for the whole face. Do not use directley under eyes. Discontinue use if pregnant
@@melissabridge5687 Retin-A is tretinoin whereas Differin is adapalene. Both are retinoids, but slightly different. Differin is pretty much exclusively indicated for acne, whereas Retin-A can be used for acne as well as anti-aging
love this! very jealous of all those books you’ve managed to read - i’m a mum of two under 5 and it just doesn’t happen for me anymore 😔 going to do my very best to read 12 this year; one a month!
You can also download the Kindle app to your iPhone and it will sync up with your location on your Kindle or iPad or computer, which is nice. I often read on my kindle app on my phone, especially whenever I’m waiting or flying.
I love these videos so much!! I really want to read the other Americans now! Sounds a bit like miracle creek or the trouble with goats and sheep (which I think you’d really like!) :)
Another great video. I’ve been using the beauty cleanser liquid forever! It’s great. I’ve pickled loads up from Sephora in the UAE before immigrating to the UK with my hubby. It was on my have to purchase list before leaving 🤣. Also traveling with a backpack 🎒 is great 🤩. I’ve done it three times and it’s so amazing. No worries about lost luggage or waiting around for ages for your suitcases 🧳. Hope you enjoy your trip xxx
My goal for this year is 30 books, which is a lot for me since I spend 8 hours a day reading technical stuff for work, this video sure helped me picking up options to accomplish my goal. Thanks!
I'm glad you enjoyed "The Other Americans" by Laila Lalami. It was one of my favorites last year! For U.S. viewers, the audiobook is available on the Libby app and is quite good, with different readers for each of the narrators.
I LOVE David Sedaris. I've gone to see him many times and will see him many more and my advice is to sincerely consider if you want to take your grandfather! Although if you do, you have the coolest granddad.
I'm currently reading Ronan Farrow's 'Catch and Kill' and it is INCREDIBLE! I haven't been able to put it down (except to watch this video). I'd highly recommend. 😊
I would recommend Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan novels! There are four and she writes in such an interesting way. The first book has also been made into an HBO series - My Brilliant Friend
Anna, just be careful with the Differin. I used in it high school and it definitely does work! The only snag I ran into was it bleached my pajama tops. I guess when I would tuck my chin to look down I would rub against the top of my shirt.
Very tempted to try the beauty blender cleanser, although I’ve noticed a lot of youtubers and influencers will try soap or hand soap but never mention trying to clean beauty blenders with face cleanser?! I find this works great but want to try a bb product for a change. Anyways loved this list, so many great suggestions to look out for xx
Can you get the Laroche-posay adapaline gel? It's literally the exact same ingredients and price as the Differin. At least here in the states. I've used them both and they're fantastic and identical 😁😁😁
I'm really bad with reading books and I haven't read one in years, but I bought your book because I'm addicted tow writing lists and organising things and so far I'm obsessed! I literally feel like your book is written for me haha! xx
You look so gorg in this video Anna! I just wondered if you could maybe highlight some of your drugstore faves? I really trust your reviews and I’m trying hard to save at the minute🙈
Wonderful Books! Currently I try a bit outside my "comfort reading"- Zone like Classic and turn to Fantasy to see if i like anyone else in this Genre than Tolkien. And I wait for Joanna Vargas' "Glow from within". One of my highlights last year was "The midnight tiger" and "Where the crawdads sing" - so wonderfull to read, not as elaborate as Atwood but not just this "Entertained for one read"
I’m reading the immortalists at the moment and it is as perfect a book as I’ve ever read. I think it would appeal to those who enjoyed Educated, John Boyne etc - the writing is a similar level if not at all similar in tone.
My non fiction book for January is “an edited life” it’s my favourite,I’m loving it,I read one non fiction and 2 fiction every month, love your video Anna 😘
I have been totally unsuccessful in linking to your Goodreads account, or with any of the links here. Could be me, I am a technology zero, but I really am interested. I have read the best books because of you! So grateful!
Woah that's a lot of books! I'm also considering picking up a Kindle as am off to India this year, would be interested to hear your thoughts on it. I visited Sri Lanka last year - it's a beautiful country, still developing in many respects. Whilst I appreciate you didn't specifically ask for recommendations thought I'd put my two cents worth in and say if going to the city of Kandy, Helga's Folly is worth a visit. It's a bit off the beaten track and we didn't stay there but went for dinner and the ambience/décor/whole vibe of the place is really unique and quite an experience (in a very positive way, for us at least!). If in Colombo I'd also recommend eating at Paradise Road The Gallery Café.
I clean my brushes with what I use to clean my face, not my hands. Thank you for the insight in contemporary literature! I would be very interested to have your opinion on sth more classic!
If you started playing video games you would be the perfect cross section of everything i watch on youtube 😄 makeup, organization, declutters, what i eat in a day, and booktube
Not sure if it’s available in the U.K., but if you like Calypso, I think you will love Theft by Finding (David Sedaris’s diaries from 1977-2002). Try to find it!
You would love binging Shauna Neiquest books foodie love with delightful essays on life. A banner combo for you! Start with the one called Bread & Wine.
You should read Disappearing Earth by Julia Phillips, that's my favorite of all the books I've read this year so far. I haven't read The Other Americans but it seems like it follows the same structure, a crime through the eyes of different people. I read Trick Mirror too, and Pure Heroines is actually my favorite, because as an English major I've actually read almost all those books lol. But the essays more personal to Jia's life are the best, I think. Catch and Kill is AMAZING. I haven't read She Says yet but definitely want to pick that one up.
I do read an enormous amount both for work and pleasure but I do like a hefty political biography and obscure C18th novels. Currently I have Casanova’s autobiography and the Ian Kelly biography of him plus volume 3 of Charles Moore’s biography of Margaret Thatcher on the go at once. Nice change from the daily diet of Government Guidance , judicial pronouncements and committee reports!
loved this video, all your book reviews!!! and thank you for your recommendation of the brush cleaner - am a soap girl till now, and definitively will give it a go... oh, and let us know how you get on with the kindle :)
Have you read Catch and Kill by Ronan Farrow? Would love to get your thoughts on how She Said compares to that. Catch and Kill is also behind the scenes type book about breaking the Weinstein story and other similar me too stories.
Dawn O'Porter's "The Cows" is really good. Def recommend. If you like some like this too, I would recommend Caitlin Moran's "How to be Famous" and "How to Build a Girl".
If you're doing the minimal travel thing, I highly recommend a book called "No Baggage" by Clara Bensen. She wrote the book after travelling for 3 weeks through Europe with a man she had known for a few weeks from a dating app and with only the clothes on her back. Super interesting read!
Are your friends Matt & Sally from Victoria, Vancouver Island? I know it’s a random chance, but I knew a M&S from there back in the day (like 20 years ago...) & pretty sure when they moved back to England it was to Brighton. :-)
I had a list a books to read last year and figure if I could read them before June I'd by myself a Kindle. Best investment ever. Currently reading my fourth book of January.
My question too.. always wanted to know on what you do with the books after reading.. hope Anna sees this and replies.. thank you Anna for all ur recommendations.. always love it!! ❤️
I love to read, especially fiction but i need to be swept off my feet and just be perplexed with amazement to really like a book and I feel like I haven't felt that way in a while.
As an avid reader, I've been enjoying being part of your reading journey and hearing your recommendations. It will be awesome if you bring back you book club!
I really appreciate the matching tones between the painting, the sheets and your makeup.
As a Librarian, I LOVE that this is a bumper book special! Yay Anna! You're the best and so inspiring.
As an avid reader I really enjoy your videos centered around what you’re reading/currently reading! I’d love to see more content around this in the future :)
Love your good reads account. Please keep updating it with all your reviews and what you want to read!
My favorite book I read last year was White Oleander. Currently reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Thanks for being an inspiration to read more!!
Thank you for all the book recommendations! I truly appreciate it!
I think the color of that lipstick is really gorgeous!
Love your January faves 💗💗💗💗

You can get differin gel online in the UK from Superdrug prescription section or med express. I got it from one of those last time I ran out.
I'm on my 4th book this year also and on good reads. I love reading
When you talk about books more than makeup know that you have grown😆😆😆.
Lovely as usual.
Good morning, you've inspired me to get back into reading. Luckily there's a public library nearby. (Wish I had gotten one of the LE lipsticks). ❤
Thank you so much for the Trick Mirror recommendation, i think you mentioned it in an instagram story a while ago and I LOVED it! I took it out from the library and I want to go out and buy it so I can highlight, dog-ear, etc.

Where the crawdads sing is amazing!!
Alice Byrne awesome book loved it!
My husband and I read Sedaris’ “Santaland Diaries” every Christmas Eve. It has become our favorite tradition.
I’m so happy I watched this! I feel like we’re on the couch chatting. You have inspired me to start reading again in 2020. I will be picking up a few of your recommendations for books. Healthy habit ✨✨✨
I loved ‘The Leavers’, it’s right up your street. Reminds me of Little Fires Everywhere but a bit deeper.
Dr. Bronner liquid soap is great for cleaning brushes. I use the peppermint one. Thank you for the book recommendations. I've read a few hyped up, trendy titles recently that left me cold so it's great to get pointers.
I read Born a Crime this month. LOVED it! It's so fun hearing about books and makeup in one place--two of my favs. :)
Differin worked great for me! You definitely have to use it for the full 12 week period or however long the package says and I did purge really bad the first couple of weeks but now that I’ve finished it my face is so much better. I haven’t had any cystic acne since I finished it

you reenacting yourself laughing while your h was sick in bed was prob my favorite moment in your videos ever!
Ronan Farrow’s Catch and Kill is incredible, I’m hooked! The podcast is also addictive!

I am obsessed with that lipstick color you created! 😍😍 Also, I recommend "Where the rainbow ends" it's a quick but sweet read ;)
