Any C grade is too high. D at most. They literally just ensured this guy will never report future abuse and made sure he understands he's a B for allowing it to happen. Effectively perpetuating abuse.
Doesn't matter if an officer does things correctly 9/10 times if that 1 time is as bad as that imo. Only getting a C- after having just tried shaming and threatening a victim of a crime is too much to allow them to continue doing that job imo. If there had been no marks on his body, and she had lied about the interaction, he could have been the one getting arrested with their attitude about the situation.
Imagine if they did that to a woman? Woman’s groups would make a huge public outcry (and rightly so) but us men still would never do that. As it’s seen as shameful and is treated like this cop treated it. It has nothing to do with power and strength. He could kill her if he wished. But for whatever reason he won’t defend himself. Many reasons for that.
"We think you are a victim, so we will insult you, shame you, and victimize you more." The absolute ignorance the cops display when they say "you got beat up by a girl" with that tone... just gross.
Imagine showing restraint, walking away from a bad situation where you were being assaulted, remaining calm and it being distilled to “getting beat up by a chick”
"Hey we hear you got beat up by a girl" "ow she kicked me in my face" Between his shaming the victim and then underestimating the woman, we really get to see how the cop's preconceptions shaped this encounter. It's nothing short of amazing they managed to stumble their way to arrest the right person. Hopefully, the dude's life gets better after this.
100% karma. Cops make fun of biy for getting beat up by a girl and then immediately after that get beat up by the same girl. And they say there are no gods...
What I found glorious was after he tried shaming him by saying he got beat up by a girl, said cop gets kicked in the face by the same girl, while Sid cop had her on the ground in handcuffs. If that’s not karma, nothing is.😂
@@svbarryduckworth628 actually, it’s more embarrassing than that, he mentioned Tim by saying he got beat up by a girl, but then that said cop gets kicked in the face by the same girl, while said, cop has her on the ground in handcuffs. Said cop probably shouldn’t be a cop, but karma is especially delightful when it’s served immediately.😊
I absolutely hate the way this officer talks to this guy. He insists on saying, "a guy who was beat up by a girl" when he knows damn well that's a demeaning way to put it. You can't convince me he was actually "help" his community in that moment, especially when he threatend to take him to JAIL when HE was ATTACKED. Absolutely ridiculous
This is the 3rd time I've watched this body cam footage on various channels, and every time i see it, that part really irritates me. Its extremely demeaning to a male to word it that way.
I got punched in the face by my (now) ex-wife. I called the police, despite being terrified that I would be accused of being the aggressor because of my gender. I cannot speak of the Portland PD in general, but I was amazed that they not only showed up swiftly, but also did NOT attempt to criminalize me, but, in fact, asked me if I wanted to press charges. I'm usually pretty anti-establishment, but I think I must call out the two unnamed officers that took my call seriously, gave me the opportunity to get my things in order, and, in fact, asked me if I wanted to press charges (I did not; we have children). Sometimes, good people become cops for the right reason. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, good bye.
Same thing happened to me, with my ex. She had hit me in the face. I made things worse by asking her if that was the best she could do? Boy, the next one hurt a bit more! Then she called the police. While we waited for them to arrive she had calmed down and realized who was at fault. She asked me if I thought she should call them back and cancel the call out? I told her, don't bother. They'll come anyway at this point. So they did come and separated us to hear our individual stories. Thankfully they matched. Then the cops turned to me and asked, 'Do you want to press charges?'. The guy cop did have a tiniest grin on his face when he asked me, seeing as she was almost half my size. I said no and they left. And that was the end of that relationship
I've had good interactions with Portland PD. For example, one officer helped me find my way when I was desperately lost without GPS and another had a heartfelt phone call with me when my mother was homeless and trying to help her. Things were sketchier around protests when they were tear-gassing neighborhoods with me and my friends living in them, but I'm not even sure if those were Portland PD or state/federal people brought in. I'm sure there's a lot of officers in Portland and the quality of them varies, but from my experience they have decent/good polices and culture.
This is level of intelligence that is used to recruit these morons. After no investigation, cop demands ID and threatens jail. You’re a cop that means, interview all parties, gather information and make LAWFUL decisions based on that and give citizens confidence the law will be applied. Not hunches and speculation.
Had he fought back and not let "a girl beat him up" the police would have called him a piece of trash for hitting a woman. I don't see how this guy wins. Moral of the story, careful who you hook up with.
You mean the victim turning themselves into a suspect based on their own actions? Sure buddy. You’re just thirsty and think this chick is hot. You’re thinking with the other head….
@@mitchlol5710 it’s like he was teasing him and being antagonistic. As a cop, you don’t do that. Even if it is true, you don’t talk to a victim that way.
Is it surprising that citizens are reluctant to engage with the police for any reason now? It's always the same, the cops show up, immediately escalate the situation and say a bunch of crap that isn't true, treat everyone involved like a criminal regardless of what actually happened, then when their ego eventually gets bruised they look for any reason to make an arrest no matter how ridiculous or petty. They never actually do anything to de-escalate or protect their community, it's always about protecting their ego.
I myself was threatened with losing my son after his "father" a**sed me. I had gone to the ER because my hand was so swollen I thought it was broken. My sister had called the law on him, and a cop just barged into the ER where I was receiving care to question me. I wasn't even in a private room. I was in the hall where every patient there could hear and see me while I recounted the hours of hell I went through that night. He threatened to take my son for child endangerment if I didn't tell him what happened. I quote him now, "You will tell me what happened, or I will make sure you never see your child again", and with these words I was forced to retell everything while I could hear the whole hall go silent with everyone cranning their ears to hear every bit of my ordeal as if it was theirs to relish in. I felt so exposed, and battered again. It took me a long time to process this on top of what I had been through. The sad part is, I had no intentions on being with this man again, and every intention on getting me and my son out. This was actually the first and last time his "father" did this to me, and I was determined for it to be this way because my son has always been my priority. This cop treated me like it was my fault this happened, but I didn't ask for this. If he would've just dealt with me with respect and compassion I'm sure I would've actually pressed charges myself after I had time to process what was going on because it all happened so fast. It disgusts me when victims are treated this way. We don't deserve to be a**ed by the very people we should trust to stop it.
I have to disagree. This shows why male victims of DV dont go to the police. It absolutely shows that if a woman claims DV the police WANT to arrest the male.
I was a victim of domestic abuse from my ex girlfriend, she got mad because I was kicking her out of my house when I found out she cheated on me, and I lived in Vidor, TX and she hit me multiple times and knocked the glasses off my face so hard it made my nose bleed. My neighbors called the cops when they heard the argument, and when the cops showed up they threatened to take me to jail for me telling them to leave when I seen that they were not interested in me filing potential battery charges on her. They didn't even stay to make sure she left my house, she didn't have any bills and wasn't on any lease agreement, and I explained multiple times that I just wanted her gone. I couldn't even get them to put a no trespassing order on her. After she vandalized another girls car 3 months after our break up, that was parked outside my house, I finally got a restraining order against her but it felt like pulling teeth. Vidor, TX PD is crooked and deserves an F in my book. Made me feel like being a male and a victim of domestic abuse was a joke.. still hurts to think about 3 years later.
I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. I am incredibly proud of you for pushing through and getting a stay away order on her. But I absolutely hate that your pain, fear, and rights were not taken seriously. Because I guarantee that if it had been you hurting her, she would have been able to have you arrested and have a temporary no contact order THAT DAY. I hope we can make that change in the legal system asap. Your gender should never determine whether your pain is taken seriously in any situation. I hope you are doing better now and have put her far in your rearview mirror, and that life will never do this to you again. 💜
Sorry buddy, but that just is not how the law works, when evicting an ex girlfriend. You don't get to just have people removed on the spot. You have to file papers, and give them notice. I'm sure she was awful, but these laws must apply to everyone, even people who are great. Think of the reverse situation and it is you who is being asked to leave, on the spot, with no notice. I'm sure you would find that difficult as well, depending on your financial situation that day.
@@Tijuanabill He said she didn't have any bills and wasn't on the lease. And they absolutely can make someone committing domestic battery leave on the spot, either by arrest or making them separate by getting them to go somewhere else for the night. And if domestic abuse is being committed, he could get an emergency no contact order and she wouldn't be able to set foot there (if the law worked the way it's supposed to). I have known of a few men that were kicked out of their home in one of those three ways and half of them weren't even actually beating their partner, the woman just claimed that they were and the police arrested them. Also I know it is a smaller thing but he is venting about being an abuse victim, so starting your comment with "Sorry buddy" has the same energy as the cop in this video.
@Tijuanabill she didn't even live with me all the time. She technically lived at her grandfathers house on the other side of town. She wasn't on any lease. She only stayed at my house about 3 days out the week if that cause we both worked so much. 🤷 I'm not sure why they didn't wanna help me get her the hell out of my house tbh, cause like the other guy said, if the roles were reversed they would've kicked my ass out, and taken me to jail for hitting her.
@@jamescarrell7412 lol I'm a woman but I don't mind being one of the guys. Either way I've got your back and you have every right to be hurt and angry about the way the cops handled your situation.
She’s an abusive piece of crap, but credit where credit is due: That was a sick kick. After prison time, a lot of apologies, and a lot of therapy, she should join the UFC.
His girlfriend may be coocoo for Cocoa Puffs, but that being said, the way the cops handled the “victim” dude was out of line. Mocking him and then threatening to jail him. They deserve an F for that.
My first black eye was from an ex. Just because you don’t hit women doesn’t mean they won’t hit you. The way those officers talked to the victim is absolutely disgusting, immature, unprofessional, and just plain unempathetic
Yet over and over I see cops & medical staff trying to convince women in the ER to have their husbands arrested. Even though the woman is giving a perfectly reasonable explanation of how she got injured that didn’t involve her husband hitting her. A lot of them involve toddlers
I've been abused by an ex. How do you tell people in the moment that a 5'0" 100 pound woman hits you at 5'10" and 200 pounds? These cops were disgusting, but it's also disgusting that she thinks she can act like that and get away with it. Wish my ex had some consequences
@@Solo-RoadI suggest you watch the video again. His unprofessional manner was more than enough to insult the victim. To tell him if he don't identify and basically grass on his gf he will go to jail. It's domestic terrorists like this that don't deserve to make it home.
it amazes me that the public still calls the cops when things happen unless they want someone or everyone to go to jail, they always turn every situation into a crime, its like they filling a quota
Their job is literally to investigate whether or not a crime has been committed. Seems like you’d only want the law enforced when it’s convenient for you
@@WavvyBoyzMMK their job is to investigate but they dont investigate.. they break laws and commit in intentional crimes because their ego is out the roof when they wear those cop cloths.. cops are thugs.. a literal gang of thieves and liars.. most of them anyways not all..
@@Solo-Roadif they said it multiple times in a condescending way, probably. If they then demanded ID from the victim under threat of arrest, they're at the very least terrorizing a victim of abuse. Are you an incel? You really gonna defend the cops here?
@@SpencerfromEarth They didn't say it in a condescending way; they're were stating facts. You just assume that it is condescending to say a guy got beat up by a girl because you think he should feel embarrassed for some reason. Attitudes like yours were discussed in the video as the reason why many men are hesitant to report domestic violence at the hands of women. It's irrational for you to assume the officers share are making fun of the victim just because that's what you would have likely done.
I lived with a woman that was both physically and verbally abusive. I ended up calling the police and had to get a restraining order taken out on her. I had been secretly videoing all her abuse and showed the attending cops the footage of her beating me so the restraining order was placed that very night. The police never called me to see if everything was okay, but they called her multiple times over the following week to check on her to make sure she was okay. The videos showed her being the abusive one, and me trying to get away from her or begging her to stop. To say the cops took the side of the abuser and completely dismissed the victim in my case is beyond a joke. They couldn't have been any more unprofessional.
Yeah, been there buddy. Been there hard. I tried breaking up with her and she bit me all over. Cops still took her side though, big manly officer named Michelle. Should give you an idea of what happened. I had three witnesses, didn't fight back, didn't matter here in Maine. I went to jail and even after it was dismissed the feds still keep denying me gun sales because they have it on their records somehow.
That's extremely sad. I hate how many people have this skewed idea that women = pathetic victims and men = dangerous aggressors full stop. Everyone is capable of violence and everyone is capable of being violated. The fact that they didn't care despite evidence in front of their own eyes is appalling.
Can’t stand cops who just make up these “you need to identify or you’re going to jail” laws. Knowing how things work, the cops will get him to press charges on his gf anyway.
The officer keeps on saying “you got beat up by a chick.” That’s how you make a victim feel isolated. He did the right thing by not fighting back but the officer still tries to belittle the guy
Another one of those “we got a call” where they try to make the victim become a criminal by not knowing the basic laws. I commend the bf for not only putting up with his psychotic gf, but also putting up with these lowlife cops. And had the dude defended himself against his gf, he’d be imprisoned too. Can’t win either way.
You commend him for putting up with a psycho girlfriend?? How about I would have more respect for him and commend him if he left a girl who was always putting hands on him and acting like a psycho....like he is not so smart to keep staying with her ...people talk shit about women all the time for staying with an abusive man...
Officer kept saying. "Beat up by a chick" " beat up by a girl" that's gonna make this guy 10x less likely to say anything. He should've just addressed it as "an assault" or "being assaulted". Cops need to learn better psychology
This is why people, especially men, don't report domestic abuse. Cops are not there to scold, they are there to enforce the law. I've seen it with a friend who was abused by their spouse. The cops gave them a lecture about waiting to call police about the issue...which happened because they lost consciousness after being thrown down a flight of stairs.
Basically no one, regardless of gender, reports domestic abuse. The statistics of reporting are even lower for victims of a female perpetrator, whether they be in a lesbian or straight relationship.
The sooner someone starts getting someone's abuse on record the easier it is to protect the victim and prosecute the offender. Should they just not highlight this or what?
They laugh at him for "getting beat up by a chick" what is he supposed to do swing back and go to jail this is why men don't report the abuse it isn't treated seriously and and the guy just gets made fun of if they are even believed
I had a gf who would loose her shit in a fight and throw shit and hit me. Once the cops were called by a nabour and the police immediately hand cuffed me and put me in a car. The talked to her then told me she admitted to hitting me and that was why they weren't going to arrest me but gave me a warning that the mark on her arm from me grabbing her wrist in self defense was enough for them to take me to jail and that next time I would be going to jail. They made it clear to me that defending your self against a woman was NOT OK and that the only thing you can do if attacked by a woman is take it. Then when she has tired out from hitting you, be a real man and leave. Don't call the cops that's bitch behavior, just leave even if it's your house leave.
@@Dabby724 in most places if you are attacked by anyone hitting them back makes you just as guilty. When i was a kid i had a bully and he was hitting me and i defended myself and we both got expelled even though he was the aggressor and they knew that but it didnt matter because both participated. Unless your life is in danger you cant really defemd yourself with put risking jail time
not only did he just immediately threaten someone he suspects is a victim, with jail, but he also immediately and repeatedly said "got beat up by a girl"
Can beat the charge but can't beat the ride. These officers don't care what has/will happen to any of the involved individuals, they just want leverage to make their jobs easier. This is why they throw around obstruction charges like candy when they know it won't stick and have been told it will not numerously. 'Don't want to identify? Ok, I will arrest you and now you have to identify.'
Cop is a douche for trying to make the victim upset by saying he was “beat up by a girl”, diminishing the psychological damage abuse takes on every victim.
Imagine telling a victim of a crime that if they don't help you with your investigation you will make their life worse, directly after their assault. I suppose he's a Man, so he's not allowed to have any negative emotions regarding his recent assault and should react totally rationally and be ready to give a detailed report to law enforcement.
@@tiptop1263 yes they are a pivotal witness and can be compelled to testify in dv in nm and are required by law to Id for such purposes. Seen the conviction of one of my close friends on this. She was convicted of concealing identity and compelled to testify in the states case against her husband.

i guess technically he was also a witness to a crime. and i think ATA has had a few episodes were a person who had done nothing illegal, was detained until they got their info because they were a witness to a crime and were required to provide it.
They got a call for domestic violence. If they had let him walk off, and later found out he was beating on the girlfriend, you would crucify the cops for letting him walk away. In a domestic violence situation; it's best to keep both or all parties involved on the scene until the situation is sorted out. You learned something today.

Am I the only one who sees how the system forgets about the victim? The courts made her a plea deal where they would dismiss the battery of her boyfriend if she'd plea no contest to the assault of a peace officer and destroying property. This is so sad that they are just wheeling to forget about the victims but make damn sure they pay the price for touching an officer. Man or woman, abuse is abuse and some people never make it out of these situations before they end up dead.
As an ER nurse I saw way too many male assault victims that failed to report their abuse by their partners (females) or fear of just this situation. I hope this guy learned his lesson and ran but likely is still with this insane individual because being codependent is likely part of the problem in most of relationships 🤷♀️
Did your coworkers insult said victims? Because you know you should report said assaults as a medical professional if you suspect domestic violence and unsafe homes. You know you would if it were children.
I feel it would be a hard relationship to get out of. I would imagine he feels sorry for her. And wants to help her. And probably has mostly good moments. But it looked like it was ending. She said she was moving.
@@gregorybower2759 I mean, she'd probably just use that against him later on if they hadn't taken her to jail. She seems like the type to act sweet and nice and then drag you for it later.
Sad to see for decent folks... but not for the "legal system" they love "abusing victims" more than anyone else. Seen so many of these video's... it's crazy how much "the legal system" fake cares about victims in just about everything. What they do care about is getting money out of it. Reminds me of that one case where a woman was raped and they put the rape victim in jail... to make sure she testifies.... how crazy is that madness?
And if he had freaked out thinking he was getting illegally arrested, they'd have charged him with resisting or some bs, too. Unnecessary cuffing really should be treated like battery, not an administrative procedure. No one else gets to cuff people for being mildly annoyed around them, police really are cowards.
More people need to say to cops “is my ID going to magically tell you what happened?” Seriously, cops, maybe try doing some actual investigations. Any lazy moron can say “give me your ID!”
No they should not say that. They should say "I have nothing to say until the public defender is present" If they threaten to arrest them, say "I am not resisting" and go with them, assuming they actually arrest you when you call their bluff. I get what you're saying, but saying something antagonistic that is likely to escalate the situation is playing into the hands of abusive cops.
If I didn't mishear the "suspected victim", he didn't want to press any charges, and he didn't want to talk to them about it. How is that not his right, even if it might be stupid or endanger his life because of the abusive partner? How is it not his right to refuse to identify himself when he is not observed being engaged in a crime, doesn't fit the description of a perp, and is simply walking casually? This makes no sense to me. Then again, SCOTUS is so corrupt that several Justices should be removed permanently.
Well the crazy ones are generally the best, so it’s cost benefit. Hit it for a while then bounce with a scratch and a bad afternoon. Might be worth it.
There is one thing that I have learned from watching these videos. When interacting with the police your best option is to say and do as little as possible
"I exercise my right to not answer questions without my attorney being present" Yurp. She talked herself into what could have been a pretty decent stretch if she didn't cut a deal.
@@JosephKano It's adorable that you both would have preferred she get away with beating on her boyfriend. I can only you assume you think domestic violence against men "isn't a big deal". As stated in the video, this is why men are unlikely to report domestic violence.

The fact they laughed at him shows they would’ve NEVER allowed themselves to be in that situation insinuating they would hurt her instead .. probably why they have the highest rate of DV
To hopefully clarify why a officer needs a date of birth. I used to live in a city where there was another man with the same name first middle and last his birthday was one day off from mine his birth year was 10 years younger however I kept getting served from collection agencies and the state for child support for him and had police at my door several times looking for him. Had the state and collection agencies done their jobs they would have figured out that I wasn't the one they were looking for.
He didn't think it was serious, she didn't think it was serious, and in the end, she was arrested for it. How is this an example of abuse of men not being taken serious by the judicial system?
I’ve seen this interaction on another channel and it was refreshing to see these officers really did nothing wrong other than the items mentioned in the video.
it's honestly so insane how police immediately take any phone callers word for it?? I could literally call and lie about seeing a couple being abusive and if they HAPPEN to have any marks on their skin they're guaranteed a charge? that's not okay
Is it actually insane? The idea is a random person isn’t very likely to make a call to the police about people they have no relationship to with the intention of creating charges for them to be arrested on.
In this case, the info turned out to be true, and while at the scene, the officers ascertained themselves repeatedly, by asking factual questions and referring to the phonecalls, what happened. I'd say that they found out pretty quickly what was going on, unfortunately, they messed up in their treatment of the victim. But they didn't mess up with regards to checking if the sources (the phonecalls) were true or not.
@@jhallo1851 for a person who has no relation to the people they called on, yes it’s extremely rare. It changes when there is a connection between the two people because then there is likely some motive. You listen to any court case with an eye witness who is not a convicted felon has no relationship to the defendant, their word means a lot in the eyes of the court system and juries because it’s pretty well agreed upon that this person has no reason to lie.
It’s sadly common for victims to be arrested for not providing their identity. Like he said, he doesn’t want to press charges, the problem in most jurisdictions is this: they can’t choose whether charges are pressed, that’s up to the county/city/district attorneys from what I gather.
Which is why compulsory DV charges aren't as good as they sound on paper. If a butt hurt cop or bad prosecutor gets involved, the a sue if the court can be worse than the abuse of the partner. And often that abuse is levied on the victim.
@AuditTheAudit I have a question, after watching hours and hours of your content that I learn and really enjoy I was wondering if you had any law or lawyer background or if you picked up your knowledge over time?
I have personally witnessed a female beating the living shit out of her then boyfriend while he was trying to walk away from her and get away from her. He never laid a hand on her whatsoever. When the cops showed up they arrested him even after I told them everything that I witnessed. HE WAS CHARGED for HER beating the shit out of him.

I live in Roswell New Mexico, RPD showed up after my son's mom got done physically abusing me, they took pictures. Knuckles for being a vet and then left and never did anything...
Cant speak for the United States, but over here in the UK the police CAN legally compel a witness to give their details; failure to do so is an offence; however they cannot force you to give a statement or to 'participate in an investigation' as you put it. Id imagine that each of the states has a similar requirement, he can give his details then plead the 5th as long as he wants to and he would be completely legally above board, especially given the Dom-Violence element of this incident.
the entire government staff needs to be put in one area and told one very important statement... "I got a call" does not automatically give you the go ahead to just arrest the entire nation. A PHONE CALL IS NOT THE LAW
As a man that has been a victim of domestic abuse, these officers infuriate me. I could go into detail, but I'm not. I'll just say there was more than enough physical evidance to prove I was attacked. Sadly enough, the judge felt sorry for her and she got hit with like 150 hours of community service and no jail time. She was truly never held accountable for her actions.
I mean...we really can't fault the cops for responding to a call about a woman attacking someone in public. That part was perfectly reasonable and understandable. When the guy they first approached said he didn't care and wasn't going to do anything about it, though, the swine should have said, "Sure thing, sir. Have a nice day," and then gone up the street to see if the alleged abuser was still around. Also, arresting her after she admitted to attacking her boyfriend was well within their purview and authority (and didn't violate anyone's rights), though I'm not sure what kind of case they could possibly build if the alleged victim refused to admit he was attacked. Then, when she started flailing and kicking during the arrest _THAT SHE ASKED FOR,_ they were definitely not violating any of her rights for restraining her and filing the relevant charges.
If he is suspected of being a witness to a crime and refuses to ID it is criminal. The cops were a-holes in how they talked to him but not technically wrong in this case as there was reasonable suspicion that he was a witness or victim to a crime.

On the other hand, I mostly don't understand the general refusal to id when asked. Is it stupid to have to id when you haven't committed a crime (that you know of) ? Yes. But pick and choose your battles. They can and will arrest you afterwards and then one way or the other get your id anyway. So you bring unnecessary trouble on yourself for refusing and you give them low hanging fruit justification to protect and serve you raw and hard and as rough as possible. While twisting your arms like pretzels and tazing you as they curb stomp your face while screaming to stop resisting. You may well get a lawyer later and eventually get a settlement, but is it worth it to go through all of that? I mean, if you're going to refuse, then do it the smart way and affirm your 4th and then take the 5th and keep your mouth shut. Don't give them anything that could give them the benefit of the doubt later on that they could use to muddy up the waters.
People need to stop answering questions. You need to tell them you prefer to exercise your right to remain silent until you can talk to a lawyer. It is their job to investigate a crime. You are not required to give them that information for their investigation. Officers who threaten to arrest you if you don't talk should be charged with violating peoples rights.
I realize that there are situations where the state needs to step in on a domestic dispute in order to protect someone; but it has been my experience that more often than not, it's used as a way cops to entangle themselves in a situation that neither party wants them in. It's just ridiculous that they seem to be more concerned about making pointless arrests instead of actually going after violent criminals.
The cop literally admitted that he doesnt want to arrest him because hes "done nothing wrong" then in the same breath threatened to arrest him for not surrendering his ID. The cop literally said hes done nothing wrong, at that point the detention became unlawful and he was free to leave
So instead of making sure that a (possible) victim is secure in their believably and encouraging/helping them to come forward with the abuse. These cops decide to antagonize the victim and make sure that they never get help for any abuse. Great work

I’m really happy for you. I hope you and your kids are doing better.

As this idiot female citizen will now testify, nothing good will ever come from talking to a cop.

Agreed. I hate to think of anyone feeling trapped in a terrible situation because they think no one will take their part.

They got a call for domestic violence. If they had let him walk off, and later found out he was beating on the girlfriend, you would crucify the cops for letting him walk away. In a domestic violence situation; it's best to keep both or all parties involved on the scene until the situation is sorted out. You learned something today.
@@Solo-Road except they did just get a call for "domestic violence" They got a call for a girl in a pink shirt beating on a guy in black clothes.

But I do give the lady respect for admitting she was the aggressor and standing up for him.

Funny, the cop got beat up by the same girl, “WHOS GONNA BUY ME NEW SUNGLASSES” 😭
Always sad to see the victim in handcuffs.
Police put him from cuffs to keep him from interfering with the arrest of his scofflaw girlfriend. He was released and went home.
@@Solo-Roadthe fact he was released and went home doesn't mean much. They treated him like a criminal the entire time, and not the victim he was.

Wow. I hope this is more of a life lesson for the guy:

2. Don't talk to cops. Ever.

To hopefully clarify why a officer needs a date of birth. I used to live in a city where there was another man with the same name first middle and last his birthday was one day off from mine his birth year was 10 years younger however I kept getting served from collection agencies and the state for child support for him and had police at my door several times looking for him. All they care about is making an arrest anymore. Not doing the right thing or investigating
@@RKLS90yeah it is lmao. With more than 330 million people in the US it’s definitely not a minuscule possibility of someone making a false report.

Legal compliance is alot easier to ask for when properly explained, or even when just not being an antagonistic dick about it.
