Same I’m starting to prepare for college now and I don’t know what I’m doing. What a trip this has been, this thing we call life. (Not that you care anyways🤷🏻)
Apart from Scrubby, I actually really love the beat, the vocals, the lyrics and pretty much everything in this vid. I listen to this song everyday. GG's.
I love how you can always tell what atlas is going through by his style of music, its what makes him so good! great upload quin, one of my personal favourites, keep up the good work
I imagine I can't be the only person who hears this but.. the chorus for this song reminds me so much of Marceline from Adventure Time.. It's not just me.. is it?
Yeah, we've been using AE for a while now, just makes everything look a whole lot cleaner / professional, I like your creative layouts too, especially the one on "you'll say sorry through your smile" it looks great, thanks for supporting =)
I listened to Defeated, and I instantly fell in love, I found this and I was hooked, some of the best and true music I will ever listen to. This perfectly mirrors how the internet can change people, and allows people to show themselves, what they do, and how others can either support you, or beat you into the ground. "While I was trying to talk him through depression." I've done that to a couple people and this song really connects with me. I love you and keep doing what you do, because this music is like my life-blood. (No burden though)
me too, my friend introduced me to defeated as a song for me to listen to while i was going through some daek times, and i was immediately hooked on atlas.
@@onlyflyguy Same- My friend just played this song on rhythm on my discord, and I liked it! So, I'm gonna listen to it alot more, and most likely listen to the artist more!
Lyrics: We all got internet personas Internet personas we hide behind We hide behind We all got demons deep inside us Demons deep inside us we try to hide We try to hide And I forgot who it is I truly am long ago But, I'll keep searching for it while I can I knew a boy who could outline a shape in a second Thats display was eclectic in a way that was second to none He had a hand that swam like fish in the seas And a pen stroke that could bring any critic to his knees It was beautiful Flowing like the blood inside my arteries He painted hearts as targets and was practicing his archery Mastering the artistry he carried in his chest Until at best it was a godsend and worst was a part of me Until suddenly Things began to seem different Moods dissipated into blue and grey pigments But surface-wise, his screen names were never inefficient as a method to communicate that happiness was with him So a couple thousand people saw a perfectly innocuous complexion While I was tryna talk him through depression But lesson to be learned is that your heroes aren't invincible Just normal folks who often need expression so pause and leave a message If you want; they'd probably appreciate it Internet personas Internet personas we hide behind We hide behind We all got demons deep inside us Demons deep inside us we try to hide We try to hide And I forgot who it is I truly am long ago But, I'll keep searching for it while I can I knew a person who could cultivate the words that they aligned In away that could coerce a train to fly A perfect state of mind in which to learn creative rhymes Until their person was a burden by the verses they designed and they began to lose their touch The little quirks in all their writing became terse and uninviting And ingesting any lettering they surgeoned into life instead of being entertainment was inert and just absurd and all the work was fucking tiring And suddenly They were writing less and less Despite of their success they saw no light and second guessed the creativity they harbored in their heart There's only so much fucking artwork you can make until you forget the way to start So a couple million people saw some dipping in the frequency Of music while they fought idiosyncrasy But slept his mental illness and woke is some peculiar train of thought That masqueraded as a symptom of a hindering delinquency I hope that all these words have made you think of me Internet personas Internet personas We all got internet personas Internet personas We all got internet personas Internet personas We all got internet personas Internet personas We all got internet personas Internet personas We all got internet personas Internet personas We all got internet personas (Internet personas) Internet personas We all got internet personas Internet personas
I mean this is true. My whole life I’ve been a little shit who hides behind my screen in hopes to do something with life. This is my world and I can cope reality with this, I can do anything on the internet. I’ve always hid behind my internet persona as some big strong guy but without it I’m just a small nerdy kid. I hope to do things and I have aspirations in life, such as maybe getting a girlfriend or really pursuing my dreams. And yes we all have internet personas and that’s what makes us... us, we all hide behind our screen as the person we dream to be, and if you work hard you may be able to. I know we all may or may not be able to relate to this but I’m not sure... we are able to be ourselves on the internet with our internet friends who you can vent to because they won’t go telling anyone, please cherish this people while you can... if anyone could tell you this it’s me because I would know. Thank you for reading this and I hope you take it to heart and really think about it
That is the most inspirational thing anyone has ever said, but if you want a hobby or something to keep you busy than you should try skateboarding, not necessarily tricks unless you want to but even just a non-trick skateboard like I have will do just fine you can ride it almost anywhere and it’s not super hard to learn, just give it a try and see how it goes, even without tricks (I don’t have a trick style board) it’s still fun to be able to ride around with friends on, I would recommend 10/10 BTW I love this song to

Damn, this really speaks to me. Anyone else here who's more open online, who considers your internet friends true friends, that kind of thing? It's unavoidable, but hopefully it'll make you more open-minded and accepting so have a good one ^-^
Cloudflame I agree. Irl, you have people that assume you should act a certain way. Everday is a masquarade. Once we get online, we can take off our mask and make a new one, this time, tailored to who we are under the surface. Our true colors fly under the guise of a mask.
Base Tempest Indeed. On the other hand, the masks we create online rest squarely on your shoulders - the internet doesn't have nearly as many social rules as society. If someone's horrible online, it's not too far a jump to assume they're not nice in real life. If someone's incredibly nice, that doesn't mean they're great people in real life. This inbuilt cynicism is what, ironically, makes the internet generation simultaneously wonderfully open-minded and terrifyingly xenophobic.
Cloudflame I agree since my real friends aren’t really good people only I few of them I would trust but I have met way more people on the internet that seem nicer than my real friends
i listened to this song in the 7th grade, i’m a freshman in college now so hearing this same song i was listening to when i was like 12 gives so much nostalgia, thank you for this song.
Love you Atlas, on my bad days I always listen to your stuff, on good days, Im listening to your music. Thanks bro, keep being you, don't change. you got empathy behind every lyric you write and line you sing!!! Lots of love from Texas
It was beautiful Flowing like the blood inside my arteries He painted hearts as targets and was practicing his archery Mastering the artistry he carried in his chest Until at best it was a godsend and worst was a part of me Until suddenly Things began to seem different Moods dissipated into blue and grey pigments :)
You know? it makes me happy to hear atlas after so long. I remember hearing all the time in the lowest point in my life and just doing so now remind me of those times. It was kind of crazy, changing school twice back in high school. I never told anybody the second time i changed school (i only stayed for like 3 months) and i never felt like i matter. Despite that i remember this one girl from that school... she greeted me on a mall a Sunday the day before i changed schools, she was introverted and very shy but despite barely knowing me she was kind enough to come by and say hi. To this day i still remember how happy she was to greet me and ashamed at the same time. The conversation didn't last a lot but she sounded like she genuinely enjoyed it and at the end of it she just told me "hope to see you tomorrow" and i didn't bother much to explaining to her what was going to happen. My mother asked me why i didn't told her anything? to which i just answered that they wouldn't mind that much as it probably doesn't matter but looking back it wasn't on me to decide the impact i have on people. The saddest part is that i never got a way to contact her unlike the other people. Some of them i see them sometimes at college and to other i follow them on IG. I know how much it means to someone as introverted and shy as her to just be happy to see someone else and go ahead and talk to them. I hope she is doing fine and would love to tell her how much i've improved from that point to now. I still owe her an ice cream from that day.

Okay, I’m gonna go on a huge ol rant about how much I love atlas and find him an incredible rapper. 1. His down-to-earth aesthetic. I love his aesthetic to death. His lyrics are incredibly down to earth and ‘real’ without coming off as pretentious or overly artsy. Despite being fairy popular, he has always managed to maintain the image of a bored kid making music in his room, a viewpoint me and many others find strangely refreshing. 2. His subject matter. He is not afraid to be depressing, but he’s also at times very cheerful. I love how he’s not afraid to talk about internet culture or traditionally millennial things and his experiences with them when so many mainstream artists simply refuse to, just to maintain this insecure image of being mature or serious. Hell, this guy’s got an interlude up literally called 15 Reading Homestuck On The Internet.
@Ghosts Can't Eat Cake Not gonna shut up. Yes i'm hateful, but i at least have a right and reason to. Also you refer to the fact that i "Sit behind a computer screen to feel so big and bad." First, i don't think i'm big and bad. Second, you also say that "Nobody wants to hear me at all ever." You dumb bitch! what you just said can be referred right back to you buddy! Fuck off :D *P.S. Actually do some research buddy* .
@Ghosts Can't Eat Cake *Awful films made by an idiot, burger lover, and bad artist. Occasionally my weird and honestly much cooler than me friend pops up and does some things* By the way. ;D
@Ghosts Can't Eat Cake I'm showing you that you're immature as fuck. Your videos are hot garbahe and befor you talk about my shit, just have you know i made those videos at the age of 8 and above.
man, i was listening to this when i was 11-12. 6 years later, this song brings out the most intense nostalgia from me. the chorus hits so hard for someone who can relate, who grew up on the internet

Quin, first off, thanks for uploading despite the low sub count. It must take crazy dedication to do this regularly, also, do you know if there's a way to contact atlas? I'm wondering if there's a way he could get his songs on spotify, I'm sure he'll get more listeners that way. Been a fan of him for a while, but I'm sad I have to come here to listen to him when I regularly use spotify.

im an atlas fan but thats only because of scrubby that played this song and once i heard this song i started listening to other songs that atlas made and thats how i became a fan
I hadn't realized the archer poet boy he talked about in the first verse was probably himself, talking himself through depression as he went through it without worrying others, until I was older today. It now makes me think of how I dream of holding my younger self safe while he goes through something similar sounding to this song... Back then, it made me think of being the lifeline to someone I thought I loved. I want to just be my own lifeline now, and I'll try forever to make up for not being there for myself in the past. Atlas, you paint my world every day for years now and I still love your music in new ways.
I'm here after a long time not listening and this legitimately still bangs. I'm so happy to hear that even after all this time, Atlas still feels fresh and warm
*Peep👀 3:48 you can hear a majestic Atlas singing his ass off, harmonizing "Internet Personas." You have been blessed, you're welcome. Have a nice day.
Meliah Rose Dawson You don’t get it. You say so much as one he/him/his and this boy is commenting on your stuff with the same thing. His only goal in this entire comment section was to correct people. It’s quite irritating. Also, you’re welcome.
Throwing back to when I was so young and used to listen to atlas and samsa, god damn the nostalgia 😭Makes me realize how long it's been and how fast time went
Is no one gonna notice the 2 verse at which he describes the hardship of being a musician and the criticality of the audience. It seems like a low key call for help.
damn, this reminds me of 2017 -2018. What a time, I had discovered scrubby and was at the absolute peak in my life. Found new friends since I had recently moved and we all started playing fortnite. This reminds me of that time and just having a blast online. They helped me get through a rough year and I have a vivid memory of me and my friends sweating on fortnite at 2 am as the dumb 9 year olds that we were and jamming out.
Yoo we’re pretty much the same age and have similar stories. I went to my homies house a couple times a week and listened to this song and watched scrubby while grinding Minecraft on his xbox 1 that he saved up all of his money for. Sorry I was about to start ranting. I hate nostalgia
What I love about this song is 1. It’s honest and it widely related to 2. You don’t edit your voice or use autotune and 3. You aren’t making this to make money or to become famous, you’re making it so people won’t feel alone and I love that (or that’s what I feel from it) There’s a song called tidal waves by bandanabean and it has that same feel for me. So, thank you for making this masterpiece. ❤️
man i remember finding this song at the ripe age of ten and now i'm turning 18 and worrying about college its really crazy how time flies man for anyone whos reading this don't worry life gets better it always will
I've probably heard this song well over 50 times but the line "I hope that all these words have made you think of me" always, always gives me chills, especially since the first time I really listened to the lyrics I began to wonder if he was talking about himself
God man, I love the 2nd verse it’s so personal, sentimental, quickly explaining and almost ranting about his burnout he experienced. That little“I hope this words have made you think of me” is talking straight to his fans after (i’m assuming anyway) being gone for awhile.

This reminds me of Etika so much..... rest in peace thanks for everything u brought to this platform...no, to everyone out there. U will always live in our hearts...#JOYCONBOYZFOREVER
at around 1:20 , my friend was the same way. amazing artist and funniest guy anyone knew, then he told me he feels empty and pretty much described that he had depression. took a while and a lot of talking, but he eventually got somewhat better. sometimes all someone needs is someone else.
I didn’t expect to hear this song again. I forgot all about it.. Now it’s just. Come up again. And I’m tearing up. All day I have felt a sense of comforting yet frightening nostalgia, and a song lingering with last year’s struggles has crossed my path again. ...This is an amazing song. I have so many emotions right now.
Literally tho right? It’s like Atlas’s music is so strangely comforting but be I listened to it during a really shit time it brings up crappy memories and nostalgia

Atlas has such a wonderful and simple voice.... Love it
Madison Russell yes his voice is just like him
I listened to Defeated, and I instantly fell in love, I found this and I was hooked, some of the best and true music I will ever listen to. (No burden though)
dried ink i watched one of spocters videos witch introduced me to alarm and thats how i got hooked into listening to atlas
me too, my friend introduced me to defeated as a song for me to listen to while i was going through some daek times, and i was immediately hooked on atlas.

Lyrics:
We all got internet personas
Internet personas we hide behind
We hide behind
We all got demons deep inside us
Demons deep inside us we try to hide
We try to hide
And I forgot who it is I truly am long ago
But, I'll keep searching for it while I can
I knew a boy who could outline a shape in a second
Thats display was eclectic in a way that was second to none
He had a hand that swam like fish in the seas
And a pen stroke that could bring any critic to his knees
It was beautiful
Flowing like the blood inside my arteries
He painted hearts as targets and was practicing his archery
Mastering the artistry he carried in his chest
Until at best it was a godsend and worst was a part of me
Until suddenly
Things began to seem different
Moods dissipated into blue and grey pigments
But surface-wise, his screen names were never inefficient as a method to communicate that happiness was with him
So a couple thousand people saw a perfectly innocuous complexion
While I was tryna talk him through depression
But lesson to be learned is that your heroes aren't invincible
Just normal folks who often need expression so pause and leave a message
If you want; they'd probably appreciate it

Internet personas we hide behind
We hide behind
We all got demons deep inside us

But, I'll keep searching for it while I can
I knew a person who could cultivate the words that they aligned
In away that could coerce a train to fly
A perfect state of mind in which to learn creative rhymes
Until their person was a burden by the verses they designed and they began to lose their touch
The little quirks in all their writing became terse and uninviting
And ingesting any lettering they surgeoned into life instead of being entertainment was inert and just absurd and all the work was fucking tiring
And suddenly
They were writing less and less
Despite of their success they saw no light and second guessed the creativity they harbored in their heart
There's only so much fucking artwork you can make until you forget the way to start
So a couple million people saw some dipping in the frequency
Of music while they fought idiosyncrasy
But slept his mental illness and woke is some peculiar train of thought
That masqueraded as a symptom of a hindering delinquency

Thank you for reading this and I hope you take it to heart and really think about it
That is the most inspirational thing anyone has ever said, but if you want a hobby or something to keep you busy than you should try skateboarding, not necessarily tricks unless you want to but even just a non-trick skateboard like I have will do just fine you can ride it almost anywhere and it’s not super hard to learn, just give it a try and see how it goes, even without tricks (I don’t have a trick style board) it’s still fun to be able to ride around with friends on, I would recommend 10/10

Yeah
Cloudflame I agree since my real friends aren’t really good people only I few of them I would trust but I have met way more people on the internet that seem nicer than my real friends

I love how poetic atlas is they're so talented

You know? it makes me happy to hear atlas after so long.

LuckyK atlas uses they/them pronouns!
No, shut up. You're a furry. Nobody wants to hear your ranting.
His music is so chilled. It actually makes you think clearly rather than other loud obnoxious and irritating genres, that just give you a headache
Harry O' Callaghan atlas uses they/them pronouns!
theglassgowsailor that’s not grammatically correct
He uses a lot of wonderful metaphors that make his songs complex and so breathtaking to hear
Besides greenday ofc

I hadn't realized the archer poet boy he talked about in the first verse was probably himself, talking himself through depression as he went through it without worrying others, until I was older today. It now makes me think of how I dream of holding my younger self safe while he goes through something similar sounding to this song... Back then, it made me think of being the lifeline to someone I thought I loved. I want to just be my own lifeline now, and I'll try forever to make up for not being there for myself in the past. Atlas, you paint my world every day for years now and I still love your music in new ways.

Thats a lie right there lol
Is no one gonna notice the 2 verse at which he describes the hardship of being a musician and the criticality of the audience. It seems like a low key call for help.
He also says I hope these words make you think of me
thx for posting this quin i saw atlas posted this on sound cloud but my phone died before i added it to a playlist and now i cn do it on here
Riddler No problem, thanks for the support!
damn, this reminds me of 2017 -2018.
Lol stfu 13 year old. You played fortnite.
@@ronin8088 chill out man lol imagine hating on people for the games they played, lowkey kind of immature ngl
@@ronin8088 🧐🧐 did 😶😶 we 🥰🥰 ask?? 🤯🤯
Yoo we’re pretty much the same age and have similar stories. I went to my homies house a couple times a week and listened to this song and watched scrubby while grinding Minecraft on his xbox 1 that he saved up all of his money for. Sorry I was about to start ranting.
I hate nostalgia
I love how are Community in these Comments are so Chill
We all appreciate each other
One of my favourites from atlas even though it's new
Nice!
Lewis Paisley mine is remember me
TBH I love handheld
Spoctor brought me. This is straight fire.
What I love about this song is
1. It’s honest and it widely related to
2. You don’t edit your voice or use autotune
and 3. You aren’t making this to make money or to become famous, you’re making it so people won’t feel alone and I love that (or that’s what I feel from it)
There’s a song called tidal waves by bandanabean and it has that same feel for me. So, thank you for making this masterpiece. ❤️
man i remember finding this song at the ripe age of ten and now i'm turning 18 and worrying about college its really crazy how time flies man
for anyone whos reading this don't worry life gets better it always will
Same here, time went way too fast.
Other people:this song is so relatable
Some others:SCRUBBY!!
Me:this sounds nice
I used to listen to this is in middle school,I’m a graduating senior now
Good times
I've probably heard this song well over 50 times but the line "I hope that all these words have made you think of me" always, always gives me chills, especially since the first time I really listened to the lyrics I began to wonder if he was talking about himself
this deserves WAY MORE views
I’ve been jamming to this since 2017 when I was a seventh grader. I still think this has an amazing message in 2021
I just realized this song has lots of rhymes. Not only do the words make sense and have meaning, they RHYME. Christ almighty Atlas, you're scaring me.

Diamond Pastel Hi diamond pastel!

God man, I love the 2nd verse it’s so personal, sentimental, quickly explaining and almost ranting about his burnout he experienced. That little“I hope this words have made you think of me” is talking straight to his fans after (i’m assuming anyway) being gone for awhile.
Lyrics
We all got internet personas
Internet personas we hide behind
We hide behind
We all got demons deep inside us
Demons deep inside us we try to hide
We try to hide
And I forgot who it is I truly am long ago
But, I'll keep searching for it while I can
I knew a boy who could outline a shape in a second
That's display was eclectic in a way that was second to none
(If you want they'd probably appreciate it)

I hope that all these words have made you think of me

at around 1:20 , my friend was the same way. amazing artist and funniest guy anyone knew, then he told me he feels empty and pretty much described that he had depression. took a while and a lot of talking, but he eventually got somewhat better. sometimes all someone needs is someone else.
The is one place I can truly be myself honestly, I don’t keep secrets from my internet friends

It’s like Atlas’s music is so strangely comforting but be I listened to it during a really shit time it brings up crappy memories and nostalgia
was rewatching old scrubby videos and found this gem in the intro. thank you past scrubby
