They weren't trying to make Maleficent the villain of the story she was more like the anti-hero and King Stephan was really the villain that started all the mess in the movie (of 2014).. *The 2014 movie wasn't a sleeping beauty* movie it *was a Maleficent movie with Maleficent's POV,* which is why is one of the few live action Disney movies that I can enjoy, it's not a copy paste of the original, the only scene that is like the original is the cursing of Princess Aurora, but that scene had to be in there, the movie adds on the character of Maleficent and I can appreciate that bc when the Disney's live action versions of the og's movies do an almost identical movie scene by scene (copy and paste) they mostly *NEVER* are better not even close to the original animated classic, this movie is not trying to compete with the original Disney animated movie, is it's own thing, it's a Maleficent pov movie not sleeping beauty movie... And there are story books about Maleficent that supports the 2014 movie, in those stories Maleficent is more like the Maleficent of the 2014 Movie, so that's cool too... In this case you can enjoy both versions for what they are, the animated and the live action. *Sorry for my bad english, its not my native language.*

The story is different, in the live action maleficent is a Broken villain, that later becomes a hero
But the OG one is pure evil
That's why I love the animated Maleficent better. She's one of my favorite Villains, I didn't like her as the anti hero

The animated one, I never like Maleficent! I was REALLY disturb by it, in terms of the storyline.
The Disney remake was horrible. They should've let me write it. I would've written them a true classic.
