i think it's hilarious that before LP Chester never really screamed in a song and now look at him screaming all over the place and for him to do all sorts of screams for all sorts of long periods of time is INSANE like imagine if he never realized he had that talent omg

This is the stuff beginners in the industry need to listen to and feel empowered by if they should ever face this amount of adversity from record executives who don't know this the first thing about music.

Mike just streamed a few days ago and popped out HT quality song in just over an hour, then in the end he explained thats not what they wanted to continue doing. They could do shit out another five HTs but they wanted to do something else.

As much as I love their music and all, it's the way Chester just leans into a topic with that intense energy that makes me relate the most to him. That alongside Mike's genuine kindheartedness is just incredibly inspiring and uplifting.

The band took the whole situation very well into their own hands and carried it to the listeners. They showed well the emotions that evoked compassion, the desire to listen and hear, then eventually relaxation and peace.

This is something I feel alot of musicians are missing in the industry today. This fighting for what they know sounds right and the kind of music they know they want to make. This is why alot of these rappers become memes, then just fall off the face of the earth lol. Because they go along with these gimmicks labels push on them.
RIP Chester and much luv to Linkin Park. Their music kept me on the straight&narrow, and saved my life. I remember listening to their albums and it made all the bullying at school/insanity at home seem not so bad and got me through the days.
Chester is such a smart man and hearing his voice opens my mind. He’s very wise and smart.

The band called another singer for audition after Chester with them for 3 days. I guess that's trigger him. Chester sang first, and he killed the song!! The another singer never performed, just walk away..

Saw them at Download and it has to be 1 of the best moments of my life singing along to the whole Hybrid theory album surrounded by like minded fans doing the same! I guess Mike compromised with the red hat thing and had red hair instead! I loved when he wore the wig that night! If Chester hadn't ever done screaming that would've been a sinful waste of talent! His screaming is beautiful.

I think that HT is their best record in inspiration,technically is not...MTM and even a thousand suns are better in that point...
The lyrics are pretty thin. They were singing about emotions they probably hadn't felt for 5-10 years prior to even recording it. Runaway is a really dumb song to any thinking rational adult but it is very relate-able and awesome to a rebellious teen. Come on dude...

Marchisio Otero: MTM and ATS are far from better then HT. MTM is simply a watered down coldplay/U2 derivative of an album. ATS is simply a derivative NIN/Depeche Mode album. How anyone can think there newer music is groundbreaking, innovative, or amazing just really blows my mind and just tells me that people haven't really listened to enough bands out there that have done actual innovative experimentation while evolving their original sound.

The members' characters are one of the reasons why everyone including me love them so much. Linkin Park will always be one of my fave bands. Queen is supreme for me but Linkin Park will always have a special place in my heart.

Heres the thing, in terms of vocals Chester is super interesting. He learned to sing by emulating many different singers such as depeche mode n others and by the time he was like 16 in Grey Daze he got good at false chord distortion (the stereotypical grunge singing style) so what I think happened basically is up to when he left Grey Daze he already had the great singing technique, breath support and some of that vocal coordination and the confidence to experiment with making some of the sounds needed to scream, I think all this came together in LP when he learned how to fry scream and hybrid scream

I will never understand why people like him commit suicide. Of course I could never understand the demons that he faced, but when you look at him from the outside everything looks perfect. He has a successful band, a wife, six kids, fans, money. How can you leave that? How can you end your life like that? Was that how much your life was worth? Was that how much you loved yourself? For every problem there is a solution. Suicide is not the answer. Like I said before, I don't want to sound like a hater. I love this man so fucking much. It's just sad that he did it. Fuck the reason why he decided to do it. Life is beautiful. Without sadness we wouldn't know what happiness would feel like. Don't give sadness the chance to take control of your life.
Believe me I know why you feel the way you do. I despise when people choose to take their own life. I've been just as angry as I've been sad about this. But mental illness doesn't care about what makes sense and what doesn't. Depression comes along without care or compromise and if you allow it, it would beat you down and keep you there permanently. For many it's a daily battle, Chester could've been as happy and as grateful for everything he had just the prior day, but then it got the best of him the following day. Out of respect for his memory, I would not try to speculate about what might have been going through his head when he made that choice, what I'm saying is the issues he had were way more complicated than "I have a beautiful family and I'm talented and successful, so my life is awesome".
