    I am a licensed mental health therapist, and I just wanted to say how brave it is that you openly talk about these things and you encourage others to not be ashamed as well. And you encourage us (and me) to work out which is so important for our mental health. I hope you feel better soon ❤️ I’d like to think that sometimes when we go through a depressive period, a piece of trauma is coming up/resurfacing and being released. So you are releasing something. So after this is over, you may feel a little lighter.

    Everytime I binge her videos I am the most productive throughout the day. My house is clean laundry is done and put away. Worked out. Ate healthy. Etc. I just love her energy

    I just listened to the podcast and I am so glad that you’re still here. I was in tears listening to your struggles and you are so brave to be able to talk about these things to an audience. I have been following you on TH-cam since the beginning and you have given me so much motivation to be my best self and I started going to the gym because of you. Whenever you feel that you need a break for any reason take it - you don’t owe anyone anything and your mental health is the most important.     yes, I suffer with severe anxiety, depression & ocd and i always have that “somethings coming” feeling and while yes sometimes something DOES come, we can’t let that re affirm our warped thoughts. happiness is unfortunately fleeting so I’ve been trying my best to soak it all in and take life ONE DAY AT A TIME. it sounds very simple but it’s hard…

    I just watched your podcast episode and usually I never comment or anything bc I feel like it doesn’t make a difference. But after that episode I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your positivity and content. I use Alive everyday for my workouts. You’re the reason I started working out and your gymshark line is my DAILY fit because it makes me feel so good about myself. I struggle with SEVERE eczema all over my body and I always think about how strong you are when I feel like I can’t do anything to make my flare ups better. I had to drop dairy, gluten, soy and eggs and felt so defeated when my skin wouldn’t clear up. But then I watch your videos and I see you conquering so many things all while struggling with mental health. You are such a phenomenal woman and I hope your journey with mental health is nothing but up from here. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

    I missed seeing you on here and I’m glad you were able to open up and get the weight off of your chest ❤️ Do what brings you joy !! I know my own struggles with post partum depression have definitely shaken me but I didn’t allow it to take me down and it brings me happiness to see you getting the help you need :) It’s not easy but you’re not alone even though depression lies to you and says you are.

    Affirmations and CBT have helped me tremendously dealing with negative thought patterns and processing emotions. For anyone reading this who struggles with depression, anxiety, or mental health: You are not your thoughts, you are the observer of your thoughts. All my love 💖

      YES CBT FOR DAYS! I do an app one for chronic pain but I know there's other apps for CBT for anxiety and depression and its way more accessible than a CBT therapist - especially since health care professionals are slammed right now.

    Thank you for being so open. Depression is the hardest thing to deal with. This past year for me has been really hard. The weight gain and learning of my PCOS diagnosis that I can barely get out of bed.. I can barely brush my teeth. But just known im not alone helps.

When I was going through depression and couldn’t get out of bed your favorites videos made me laugh out loud laugh and you probably know, when you feel that low how much it means to smile and laugh! So thank you for being you and bringing some laughter and joy to peoples lives. Also I deleted my ENTIRE Instagram and I can’t tell you how much it changed my daily life. I know that’s how y’all make money but maybe just something to consider in the grand scheme of things ❤️

    I completely understand when you talk about the anxiety of waiting for something to happen. I felt like that too when I was dealing with mental health stuff. It's hard, but eventually you learn how to 'drown out' that feeling. I think it comes down to living in the moment instead of projecting into the future.
    Honestly if you feel like it's going to negatively impact your mental health, PLEASE don't do Whitmas. We would love it if you did, but I would hate for you to feel crappy doing it and possibly cause a setback or 'relapse' into being that low again. We love you Whit, keep being you my love💜🌈

    that’s so real- even when you feel okay, when you’ve been struggling with depression and anxiety you can never fully enjoy the moment because you’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop and for something bad to happen that will put you back in a spiral. i wish you so much healing girl and it’s so powerful that you’re speaking about your experience ❤️❤️

    I listened to your podcast episode and you blew me away with your honesty and reality. I can't understand anyone in this world that can't find you to be the most positive, kind, beautiful (inside & out) and inspirational person ever. I love your honesty about your mental health, I also struggle with anxiety and depression and have struggled with suicidal thoughts at time. It does get better! And now that I’m finally getting a little better I feel more comfortable talking about it but for the longest time I felt so much shame because i wanted to be dead.     Girl, I don't even care about makeup but I always watch your GRWM. I've been watching you since day one! I'm sorry you have to divulge every part of your life for people to understand. You're allowed to have privacy. I'm happy you're able to address what you're going through with a therapist. I know that feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop. My therapist told me instead of viewing my emotions as a flood, think of it as gentle leaves falling. Let it fall on you gently, acknowledge them, and wait for it to pass. Idk if that helps but I thought I'd share.
    Also, I'm SOOOO happy to finally get my hands on your Gymshark collection! I got the pink tank top and the yellow sports bra! Who knew I'd be a yellow wearing person? They're so soft and comfortable and they make me feel amazing!

    I think something that’s so great about the TH-cam platform is that there’s plenty of people to fill every space. So when it comes to Whitmas, girl when you said it’s hard to enjoy the holidays when you do it… breaks my heart because the holidays are my favorite time of year!     Also, girl! I feel you. I was diagnosed with social and generalized anxiety with agoraphobia about a year ago now and have been medicated ever since. There is no cure for mental illness and it’s not linear. You’ll still have bad days/weeks/months even on medication. I find that sharing my journey and building a community has helped me so much. I definitely feel less alone, and it feels amazing being able to help people too. Proud of your for getting the help you need; that’s a really hard thing to do!

      hey, I wanted to add, that mental illnesses are not incurable. There might not be a thing you take that makes it fine but there are ways to feel good again (chronic illnesses by definition excluded - though there are things to make it more bearable); so, to anyone reading this, don't think there is nothing you can do, because there is. Therapy and a good doctor/therapist etc. will help you figure out the best way for you.

    That feeling of impending doom is common for people with anxiety and depression (I was diagnosed in 2013). Be gentle with yourself, it takes a while to start having more good days than bad and that's when you know you're on the right track. And setbacks are common too. I am sorry you're having such a rough time with everything, I hope you only continue upwards on your journey of recovery! Xoxo ❤

    I’m 34 years old and have recently been diagnosed with ADHD… AT 34!!!!! All the issues I’ve had my entire life stem from that and once I figured it out it was literally like you said. A 50 lb weight was lifted off of me. I’m still struggling with how to deal with things and going through therapy and taking medication, but I’m learning. I was also diagnosed with anxiety disorder and it all just made so much sense. So I feel you, sis! Love you! Praying for you! We will make it through this!

      I was diagnosed with ADHD a month before my 34th birthday. My whole life up to this point is suddenly illuminated. Meds have helped heaps. And also not to be cliché, but yoga and meditation helps me heaps. Getting enough sleep and eating good food have helped my meds work best. Google assistant and calendar, keeping a bullet journal, setting up reminders have been awesome. Also, telling people around me has helped with them and helping them to make allowances for me. Good luck, hope this helps 😊

    your worries about coming off of your "happy high" is normal and relatable, you'll be okay! try to be in tune to any small triggers that may come up and write them down so you begin to recognize a pattern. in college by senior year the therapist pulled my visitation record and found a pattern in my visits over four years and there were common triggers to my anxiety and panic attacks. it's a small thing that may help

Also #1 don't do 12 Whitmas Videos - trust your intuition that it's too much. What about the idea of 2 videos a week during December as Whitmas?     I just listened to you on the Fleurish podcast and I just want to say, you are a bright light on social media. you are the only fitness/lifestyle influencer that makes me FEEL GOOD about myself, my body, my mood etc . DO NOT CHANGE for people who are jealous of your happiness- they are trying to steal your shine so that you are as dull as them . We love you xx
    Also, your supposed 'vocal fry' - a crack in the tone/register/speech when speaking can also be a symptom of anxiety. (think Gigi Hadid who has said her voice is shaky because of anxiety) but also I have it and soooo many people have it. The french OWN it , they make it hot af. Again, never change xx

    Totally feel you on the depression anticipation thing, I feel like sometimes I bring an episode on myself because I'm worried about it happening😂🙄BUT when you're flying high and feeling good, 100% enjoy it for sure, but when you start to worry, remember things will always return to the mean. Life is not always those wonderful high feelings, it's more often a mixture, or it's good, but not FANTASTIC, but that is OKAY. Like, life is up and down, and when you're feeling great you don't have to worry yourself, because not all "happiness decreases" mean that you're going to be depressed again, it just means you're leaving the euphoria state, which is good, because you cannot function and be healthy in that state all the time, that's mania lol. I feel like when I was hella depressed for so long, my goal was to just be happy, but I've realized the actual goal is to be content. Being able to feel all emotions, good or bad, and just float along in my little life canoe is the goal. Being able to live and actually experience my life is my goal, and I feel like that's an important distinction from "happy". Hopefully that made some semblance of sense❤️

    It almost sounds like SAD (seasonal affective disorder) because I get like this too when summer ends. I absolutely feel like I want to be away from everyone and just wanna curl up in a ball of comfort. Depression is a scary thing, I feel like I’ve been more depressed this year than any other year.
    Whitney, my dear YOU have every right as a human being to take time off and heal yourself. I have been with you from the start, from eating egg whites to making kodiak waffles, (Which because of you I have journeyed through a plethora different kodiak cake mixes) to trying on fabletics, adidas (I finally got some NMD’s) to hauling gymshark, to becoming a rep for GS, and then a rep for Alanui. Girlllll, you have been through so much! You need time to heal yourself♥️ We all need time to heal ourselves! That saying, “Depression kills” is honestly true if you don’t seek help.
