Milly, you have a really good voice for country! I hope you're playing gigs. Thank you for the Fred Rose bio. I've never known much about him, just that he helped a lot of artists write their hits without asking for any credit.

I hear a lot of my fellow boomers whine about how young musicians have no appreciation for music history or tradition and that's a lot of bunk. Thanks for proving it so. Beautiful voice and I love how you honor the song by singing all the verses. That's more than Willie did. He left out the "When my hair has turned to silver" verse. Keep singin' and playin',

love your singing and playing Milly! Finally found your youtube channel. I've been watching you play and sing in the Rische's live shows and in fact was watching the show this evening and heard your name mentioned. So here I am and darn glad to be here!

Very interesting. And really neat that you could sing so many of the melodies of the Fred Rose tunes.

Most people don't know that Roy Acuff's version of Fred Rose's great song, 'Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain' in 1945 was the 1st recorded version of the song but it was not released until 1947 and was not particularly a big hit. Although he is known to have played the song only once on the Grand Old Opry during a broadcast over WSM, he said that he was not really all that impressed with the song. The 1st big hit of the song was recorded and released in 1946 by cowboy country & western music star Elton Britt whose version has almost the same guitar licks and a guitar solo very similar as Willie Nelson's version. In comparison it is a cinch that Willie was far more influenced by the Elton Britt version than he was Roy Acuff's version or the Hank Williams 'Mothers Best' radio show version from 1951.

Nice cover Milly. Greetings from central Texas. Hank Williams Sr. did a good with this song. Check it out.

Thumbs up. If I may suggest, you should practice a lot more before you post. You want folks to hear your best singing and picking.
