Thanks Beatle Dave for sending me the link to your Concert for Bangladesh video. Your collection of the concert is amazing. A very informative piece. Thanks so much!
Hi Dave, Thanks for this video overview (and thanks for the shout out at the start!). This is one of my favourite releases too. Regarding the vinyl, I have an unusual South African pressing. It is the three LP set and book but comes in a slipcase sort of cover made of thin cardboard with flaps either end that open to get the discs and book in and out. Same colouring externally as the US and UK editions you show though. The LPs (with the same label style) are in sleeves that are light yellow in colour, with cut-outs to show the labels. The book is the standard book (printed in the USA). The label sides are not numbered 1-6, 2-5 and 3-4. They are each Side 1 and Side 2 for all 3 records. I also have the Australian release. Exact same solid box, colour and content as the US/UK, but no coloured paper inner sleeves, just plastic sleeves. The label side numbers are the standard Side 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the expected order, not the "record stacker" layout. Also, regarding the 2005 Deluxe DVD you showed (which is a fantastic package) there was also a "standard" version released at the same time. This was still very nicely done in a cardboard outer slipcase style sleeve containing a tri-fold cardboard inner holding the two DVD discs, plus a slot to hold a trimmed-down version of the booklet and the "George Harrison fund for UNICEF" leaflet you showed from the deluxe. Cheers, and have a happy Christmas.
Hi Tony, That South African pressing sounds great but incredibly delicate to handle, difficult to store safely I should imagine! Some Australian releases are really good I’m some cases but similar or slightly inferior sometimes. The All things Tri fold sleeve from Australian is fabulous! Ahh yes , because I brought the the Deluxe box I never bothered with the normal release , there definitely was a time when I would have brought every variation, Lol ! Really glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for your continued support for the channel, really appreciate it! Have a great Christmas and Peaceful New Year!
As usual Dave your videos are always a treat. Back in 2005 when concert for Bangladesh was reissued I decided to buy 2 super deluxe DVD boxsets, one to enjoy and one to keep sealed. I also picked up the standard edition DVD, a 1991 cd edition and have an early 70’s vinyl US pressing. I The cover isn’t too bad but the vinyl is excellent. Merry Christmas Dave and best wishes for 2022 to you and your family. Keep well🎄
Thanks for that and your continued support! So many great items out there to collect, I’m still trying to locate certain items but not easy! But that’s the fun of collecting, sometimes when your not looking something happens! You too my friend, happy Christmas and stay safe out there !
Hi Dave Great collection of the Bangladesh concert. I've never seen records labelled like they were with sides 1 & 6 on the same disc. Those posters looked nice from the cinemas. Take care and have a good Christmas 🎅
Hi Sarah, Yes bit strange but there is some sort of logic for radio purposes. The cinema posters are very special items! Have a super Christmas and see you next time !
Multi-album sets were pressed this way for play on record changers, dropping each LP after sides were played (intended originally for 45rpm singles). 1/6, 2/5, 3/4 so you heard 3 sides without getting up to change sides
Another excellent and informative video - thanks Dave. I remember going to the cinema for a one-night-only showing of the film in December 1977. I didn't have the record set at that time so it was all new to me - I'm pretty sure I bought the set very soon after.

How do you find this box set in such perfect condition? They box themselves are usually all beat up. George tried to invite John and Paul to join him but they each wouldn't have it. Sad.
This is the second copy I found, the first not quite as nice , but definitely this copy is much better!
I just get lucky sometimes with relentless searching.
I think Paul’s reaction was they’d only just split up!
John thought the invitation included YOKO!
But it was for a good cause!
Stay safe!
Great video Dave. particularly liked the lobby cards. You wanna get those in some frames mate. 🙂
Cheers Tone!
Would you believe there’s a set of 7 lobby cards on ebay for £750 + shipping!
Would look nice framed definitely!
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel Doesnt surprise me at all. Some of the prices for Beatles collectables is getting ridiculous.
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel you ain’t kidding!
