- Beginner friendly crochet summer cardigan, made with 100% cotton soft yarn
US Terms
Materials I used for this XXXL size
6x 100g balls of Raeesah 100% cotton soft yarn (840yds/930m)
5mm hook used for main cardigan
4mm hook used to add edging and fringe
scissors
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
stitchmarker
Measurements for Xxxl
Length from bottom to shoulder 26"
Front panel width 14"
Back panel width 36"
Fringe length 3"
You can certainly customize this cardigan for any size, just measure from shoulder to shoulder, divide in half for each front panel, and work a chain length in multiples of 4 to the length you require for your size, measure from shoulder down to where you want your cardigan to end, and multiply by 2 to get your starting chain length. The pattern will work perfectly. For the neckline, just do 2 to 3 row repeats instead of 5 to 6, for a smaller size.

Absolutely you can use any type of yarn, you just need to work according to your measurements, have fun
Lo puedes poner en español aunque sea con letras 😢 está bello
Hi there I just would like to know how much yarn you used as I'm also a big girl and would also be crocheting the same size garment.
Hello 👋, there should be an indication as to the yarn weight and yardage I used for the making of this xxxl size, in the description box dear🤗
I’m a visual learner
if i wanted to add sleeves, how would i do that?
Before you add the sc border, join yarn in under the arms at the seam/join there, and continue with the same stitch pattern, working in rounds, turning the work after every round
In this tutorial, I show you where to join, it's not the same stitch pattern, I hope it helps, th-cam.com/video/eQagN8Y4Mg8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oK55ykJEDXC3MiEG
Do you by chance have the written version of this?
Unfortunately not yet, I hope to write my pattern at some stage in the future🤞
Do you have have measurements for a large to extra large, if so, i can't find it
Please check the description box to see how to take your measurements for your own customized version😊❤
If I wanted to do a XXL how many chains would I do?
Hello dear, in the description box are directions for how to take measurements for any size, you'll be working the garment from the bottom up and over the shoulder.
@@crochetwithbernie1025 thank you

Question you chained 180 chains for a front panel ?
Hi there, yes for my plussize, the garment is worked sideways, from front panel over the shoulder down to the back, hope it makes sense😉
@@crochetwithbernie1025 hi thank you for responding . Trying to understand your video instructions .
How many chains would I need if my shoulder to shoulder measures 30 inches . I’m using cotton yarn 🧶. I am plus size too 😊been trying all day don’t understand sorry
@@lovelylife4233 not shoulder to shoulder , measure from shoulder down to where you want the garment to end (lentgh) multiply by 2, and chain accordingly in multiples of 4
As a beginner, I sure don’t understand what you’re doing. I just have to keep watching till I get to understand it, I guess…
I'm so sorry that you're struggling, in the description box I explain how to take your measurements to start your chain length, we are working the cardigan from bottom up and over the shoulder to the back, if that makes sense, maybe first watch the video to see what I mean? Basic double crochet stitches and chains are what you must know to make this garment, I hope this helps ❤
