    Good job discussing the different parts in the box. It would be great if there can be some application videos in the future.

    I would really like to see how this compares to the pittsburgh 4 ton. On the website they look identical other than the paint job. Thoughts? is it worth the extra $90?

      yeah trying to figure that out too.... I guess rapid pump could pay for itself with the time if one uses it a lot. You do get the short body ram extra, and corossion protection? Both are really good deals this month on ITC

      I have yet to do one! It's in a box waiting, but I recently renovated the workshop and have been waiting on good weather to finish. :)

      My first one came from Harbor Freight about 20+ years ago and I still have it. It's a 10 ton model. When HF sends us tools to review, we can keep them. If they are tools that I already have or I don't need, I donate them to the local career center after making the video.

    Does anybody else think it's crazy that enerpac wants $4,000 for their version of this tool. This thing sells for 280 bucks!!!
    I don't doubt that enerpac is perhaps better quality but the price differential leads me to believe the customer is getting ripped off!

    I don't know why they're calling it a body repair kit. You don't use these to repair auto bodies. In the auto body world these are called porta-powers. Andvthey are mainly used for frame or inner structure repair where there's a lot of high strength steel.
    Just seems like some false labeling. May lead someone to believe they could use this to fix their hood or fender.

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      "Porto-Power" is a brand. I get crap all the time when I call them porta powers too. ;)

      @@1D10CRACY I've been a body tech for 20 years. Everyone calls them Porta powers. And I've never seen a Porta power brand. But I have seen them labeled Porta power under several different brands. I own a big red Porta power. My co-worker has a Jegs Porta power. Both of them say Porta power on them.

      I had to do some digging, it appears Blackhawk in the mid 1930s created the Porto-Power. Porto-Power was their brand for for it's hydraulic pump and tool sets marketed for collision repair. I think it's like "Partner" saw. Partner made saws in the 50s and had a hard following for their concrete saws. Today everyone calls their concrete saws "Partner" Saws.

      I'll by using one to hold my door frame to the correct width while welding back in the components (after rebuilding the rusted out sections) to complete the body in the lower corner of a passenger door. It's not possible to do without removing each component as they are sandwiched together, and must all match at an alignment hole where a body bold goes through it. So... body repair!
