I love how you have ultra fans saying it's "the doctor" not "doctor who", when actually throughout all of Classic Who "the doctor" was listed as "doctor who" in the credits, it was Tennant who requested a change. Peter is a precious creature and an ultra fan, his use of "doctor who" is merely him referencing what he has know throughout all those many years of classic who. Peter is a sweetie, leave him alone.
there are quite a few episodes aswell going "im the doctor" - "doctor who?" - "exactly!" or some similar conversation ^^

I absolutely love it when an actor is a fan of the stuff that they act in. It shows that they understand what the fans truly want to see because they want to see it too
I've got a vivid image of a small Czech boy watching that 12th Doctor reveal show from back in 2013, and then digging out the photo he had with that guy who was in Doctor Who a few years ago.
And then bursting into tears of joy.
I keep imagining how the little czech boy finds this clip and goes like "OH F*CK, why did I go and delete that picture???!!!!""

fun fact: there is a huuuuge community of people both in the Czech Republic and Slovakia who love Doctor Who so the boy wasn't the only person to know and like the show in the country

Peter capaldi is a national treasure from the UK. The man is so well spoken and talented very wonderful personality.
Graham is the BEST! No one notices here, I guarantee it,..... but, HE is TEARING-UP at the end of the story! He MUST get a lifetime achievement award in "entertainment"!: He 's a National Treasure!!

What a sweet story. I had the same reaction as Graham.
I remember looking through some old theatre programmes and was looking at an RSC Romeo and Juliet one and realised that David Tenant played Romeo the day I went and he had only just started as The Doctor at the time. I was so shocked.

Such a splendid interview! But I do gotta say, he hasn't got the best of luck if the only person he met in the Czech Republic who knows Doctor Who was a random boy. Especially since a few scenes with the Cardinal were 100% filmed in Prague. The show isn't as popular as some of the other sci-fi stuff like Star Trek or Star Wars, but it's still pretty damn popular!

Now in 2020 and the finale of the the 13th doctor has just aired. Chibs/BBC has destroyed 57 years of cannon (and even did that poorly). Now I'm watching anything I can from before the 13th doctor just so I dont cry.

+hazardmix the biggest problem with flying the Tardis is that everything changes... but if you watch closely, you see that it's always the same routine... a lever there, a button on the other side and so on... if you're keen on learning how to fly the TARDIS, just watch the doctors do it and memorrize their movements ;)

I once said that I was going to dress as 'V for Vendetta' for Halloween, and someone pointed out to me that the _character_ was just called 'V' and 'V For Vendetta' was the name of the film and the graphic novel it was based on. He was also nice enough to point out that I had lost my hair, and question my sexual preferences, my parentage, my mental health and my ethnic background.

Okay it's The Doctor let's get that one straight and I stopped liking Doctor Who after David Tennant left plus on a really really old episode ot was said there would only ever be 11 Doctors and I don't like Peter as The Doctor he hasn't got the essence of the character same as Matt they wernt able to grasp what a fenominon the Doctor was.
hazardmix I haven't watched it since mainly cus exams took over and well I couldn't get my own TV to watch it. I did really love it and I do like Matt as a person but as The doctor, to me something wasn't right. It didn't fit. Same for Peter. I don't know what but to me something changed and I didn't really fancy watching it. Cus i was bored and needed something to do and watching the Graham Norton show is pretty funny. Plus Peter.is and decent guy. Sorry did my dyslexia ruin my comment. Sorry man. I do watch old re runs that my boyfriends dad had has. I feel they were better. I just gave my view. Not expecting to get hate on it. There is already to much of that already.

+Emma x You really, really are missing out if you don't watch Matt Smith's episodes as The Doctor. Far better than David Tennant, at least in my eyes. I thought David Tennant was just a little bit safe and dull. Matt Smith encapsulates The Doctor's madness and I just love the way that he can flip to actually quite scary in a heartbeat.
