Now THAT's the pricing I'm looking for. Find us some more like this PLEASE! $75k-$150k, STEEL FRAMED, MODERN beauties with this kind of square footage. Too bad this one is on the other side of the ocean.
Nice looking home, only 2 things I would need. 10 cubic foot fridge and a washer/dryer (a vented combo would be fine). Thanks for traveling to bring us the tour, as I enjoy seeing the factory where they are built as well!
'I would need. 10 cubic foot fridge and a washer/dryer ...'. Pod is building for their market and such things are not typical. I can see this unit in an urban setting with a launderette is nearby.
@@eattherich9215 I get it, but if they ever ship to the US, for me to buy I would need a larger refrigerator and w/d hookup if I were to live in it full time. It would be great for temporary living like AirBnB or short term rental.
Nice sized home. Back in the 40's and 50's that was a common sized home and called a "bungalow". Love the clean lines inside and out. Skylights always welcome. Thanks for showing!
Pretty well done. They should really increase the size by another 100 square feet so they could get a more full sized kitchen in there, possibly could even have a kitchen island which could also double as a dining room table. I'm not the biggest fan of skylights as they'll eventually leak. Plus they get dirty and they're a pain to clean. I don't think I've ever seen a builder on your channel use solar tubes, those would be a good substitution. Built-in storage in the main bedroom is really nice. Those "windows" in the bedrooms should really be doors, IMO as they're the size of doors (I thought they were doors). Wrap around deck is the obvious on-site addition for a home like that.
I have to disagree with you about skylights. We built a 2-story house in 1996 with a skylight in each bedroom and they haven't leaked yet. We bought good quality ones and I guess our contractor installed them properly.
Very attractive, but not enough windows for me. I guess because our climate is hotter than Ireland's, I'm always looking for windows on adjoining or opposite walls, so you can get cross ventilation. I think most Americans would nix the tiny fridge, too. But it's a good-looking house and I'm glad you're out there jetting around the world for us, Kerry. 😉
Believe me, you don't want to be looking out at grey dreary skies all the time. No windows & a good imagination (keep tellin' yourself "yes, the SUN is shining / yes, the sun IS shining / YES, the sun is shining") is what you really need.

Very nice, Kerry! Love seeing what other countries are up to! The Builder could definitely gain more storage by swapping the full-length windows for horizontal windows. Love anything with a skylight for grayish Winter climates. Following the Pod Factory going forward!

They did a great job with the layout. One wouldn’t think comfort could be attained with such a small footprint, but they did a great job maximizing the space. Also, RIP pumpkin snowman. You were taken from us too soon. Mariah Carey hadn’t even fully defrosted from her annual slumber yet.
Interesting option. No laundry area. The heating units were on the walls. Not sure AC is needed in Ireland. This may appeal to some individuals, I, however, could not see me living in a house like this. Thanks for a great tour!
I really like this one, with a few changes. As a home, it definitely needs a full sized Refrigerator, and usually a younger person or child, would be in the smaller BR, and they don't need an exterior door. I wish the U.S. had a similar unit, with the lower pricing.
I would have put a dishwasher where that mini fridge is and i would just make sure the elec can handle a full fridge for me. Also a built in micro would have been nice but ok... Ireland has never been too big on windows. I'd like to see more windows and skylights. The kitchen was too Spartan for my liking, and not having a full sized fridge is a real thing...clearly this Pod Factory creation was imagined by an old Irishman with little humor. Or maybe a lot of humor, as the small size of the extant fridge would only hold a couple of cases of Budweiser and little to no food, and he might find this devilishly funny. Or not. LOL. Wish you'd mentioned a ballpark figure for this thing. I'm too lazy to go to their website and look. Hope you had fun in Ireland. I sure did.
Cool exterior look, little boring inside but nice. What I like is the price, very reasonable. Good deal for others in Europe. Kerry do you have a list of pre-fab builders in the U,S, and where in the country they are located?
Excellent job. Very nice for $111K USD. NOTE: The only thing they need to change "For The USA Market" is the Refrigerator Space! Because we Need Huge Icebox/ Refrigerators for prep storage of food for many years, so this must be an option in a house like this.
I wonder why they opted for electric heating rather than gas central heating. The trend for new builds on my side of the Atlantic (the UK) over the past 40 years has been all electric as gas is expensive to run.

Man, after gaining some perspective as to comparatives and critical considerations this “dwelling” doesn’t offer much unless you live out of a suitcase: ceilings are a foot too low while some of the glass could be horizontal and higher? The kitchen is essentially nonfunctional: dorm fridge, sink in the corner, stove centric but at least nice overhead cabinet space although counter top is crowded for a microwave and coffee maker. For anyone with average possessions, many won’t fit in the relatively little storage there is aside from the main bedroom’s full length spread. A banquette dining table may work better given under bench storage and one seat back could provide a bit of “counter-top” space with a shallow shelf-type unit below. Not sure where you’d store cleaning supplies like brooms or mops, waste basket and drop-zone stuff like coats, keys and shoes. The bathroom is nice looking and functional but little space for personal grooming, towels, hair dryers, shampoo, lotions, etc. The reality is that many actual tiny homes do as well and better in considerably less space but better utilization planning. All that said, it does have a nice design aesthetic and they are finding buyers, so it seems. Two bedrooms is too ambitious for the footprint as it would work well as a 1BR with extra room for LR, kitchen, bath & maybe a w/d utility closet.
