Meet the STRYKER: US Army’s Badass Armored Fighting Vehicles

- The Stryker, first fielded shortly after the turn of the millennium, is an eight-wheeled, all-wheel drive, armored combat vehicle produced by General Dynamics Land Systems and based on the Canadian Light Armored Vehicle III. The Stryker chassis' modular design supports a wide range of variants. The main chassis is the Infantry Carrier Vehicle.
Yes, the Stryker's modular design allows for a wide range of variants to be developed based on a common chassis. This design approach allows for a high degree of flexibility, as the same basic chassis can be configured in different ways to meet specific mission requirements. The Stryker's chassis can be outfitted with different weapons, sensors, and other equipment, as well as different types of armor, depending on the variant. The modular design also allows for easy maintenance and upgrade, as components can be easily swapped out or replaced as needed.

105mm Stryker that Everyone Hates
th-cam.com/video/WcdH0KcICYQ/w-d-xo.html
So many M11xx variants.
That 105mm gun really knocks the dust off.
Does anyone know if the Stryker's 105mm can penetrate t72 or t90?
Too bad they retired the 105 mm. I think it has great usage in combat. Is there a plan for the replacement
PLANE. WHO
I’m a Vietnam veteran so all this is new to me. I like the fact that thought was put into soldiers surviving combat. For us there was no body armor or protection in a firefight. Just never stand up or you die.
I bet you loved the 113, sir. I’ve heard so many horror stories about them.
thank you for your service sir. my dad would tell you "welcome home". he served in 68.
Spent 4 years in a Stryker unit. Badass is not a word I would use to describe the Kevlar Coffin.
bitter
What are talking about? It has A/C 😂😂😂 It breaks down every week and no one in the Army knows how to fix it and God forbid the General Dynamic Tech is on vacation.
4 years and fingers still to type is not bad no?
@@knowsmebyname oddly enough I almost lost the fingers on my right hand when we drive into a wadi and the airgaurd hatch broke free from its lock and slammed shut on my hand.
@@pinatuwadnajejemonhabayots5564 I'm guessing you proudly served in the 2nd Call of Duty brigade. Or airsoft?
Strykers are fun to use but a pain to do maintenance on. Was part of a NBCRV crew. Great times 🥺
what’s it like washing one?😂
U.S. Military News is a very enlightening and comprehensive study on these systems, this channel is #1 for content IMO, Thanks Sam and the crew at U.S. Military News. 👊 🇺🇲
yes, the Stryker with the new Leonardo DRS turret!
Drove one in Iraq. They were very impressive. I trusted my life to the Stryker ICV and my crew trusted me piloting it. There's nothing I've experienced quite like 68mph in a 48,000 pound up-armored 8 wheeled vehicle, flying down a single lane trail using only periscopes or DVE display. I made our captain shit his pants and then laugh when i came tearing into a spot between two vehicles, it was so perfect i took a pic standing with one foot on top of ours and one on top the vehicle to the right and left. The gap was less than 12" on either side. They knew my silent and reserved temperment and their trust was earned with that park job. No mirrors or indication on where the edge of the slat armor is since it sticks out 2 feet surrounding the vehicle so you either use a ground guide, or you just know.
You should be a trucker with those qualifications if you don't have a better job.
Couldn't agree more. Did the same in Iraq.
Thank you for your service.
Hahahah 😂😂 what happed in Afghanistan
@@AbrarAhmad-ku6lw well if you want my political views, war is bad. And the government lies to Americans in order to gain support for them, because they know we wouldnt support war based on what really happens. But lots of things happened in Afghanistan, to the British Empire, The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, The United States of America lost wars there.
An extremely impressive light vehicle. If they could have a modified version that fires loiter munitions that ground troops could use to guide to a target it could become very powerful on the battlefield to the point that it could be a game changer.
That is for certain. Allthough, a light utility truck like a JLTV may be better for the job. Stryker companies have one as well as an lmtv (its no secret, our TO&E s publically available). A second jltV or lmtv with launch, retrieval, and support systems for heavy loitering munitions would be king.
Give it time, it probably happen.
They have a variant for launching and controlling drones but I don’t recall the designation.
Impressive? Yes
Game changer? No
They went up in flames in Russia. Along with the MRAP and Bradley. 🤣🤣
I’ve been a loader and gunner on ATGM and a gunner and TC on an ICVV. Strykers are quite a beast if you give them the love and care they want. If you have a well maintained vehicle and a competent crew, you can trust your life to them.
They eat IEDs and ask for seconds. Best vehicle in the Army’s inventory
It came from Canada that's a good sign.
Seeing these parked on the tarmac at JBLM is cool even better is seeing them on the freeway in a convoy.
Honestly this thing has the potential to be one of the best tools available. If they can work out more modularity and various configurations a small force of these would likely be able to overwhelm forces several times their size.
the Centauro 2 is better in my opinion, but of course everyone has his own experience.
Best vehicle in the Army’s inventory
Super Creative and Unique Designed War Machines....!
This STRYKER is an absolute destroyer! It's more dangerous than it looks.
This is my favorite US military vehicle, I hope I can drive or at least sit in one someday.
As soon as the military release these for the personal use I'll get one ASAP.
I love that we can now fly weapons straight to the airport in Kherson. Gets them nice and close to Crimea.
Only to be sum canon fodders

I’m proud to working with design team to build this beast ❤
1:11 I thought it was a fishing rod :D Just kidding. Good movie and a great vehicle.
Are their any plans to place missiles in a vertical orientation like the U.S. Navy. Also if they have remote mounts for weapons why don't they have remote mounts for surveillance gear?
These are complimentary instead of usual missions.
The speed of power .. military Grade that’s awesome . Like these units .
Awesome, thx u info, good job, good luck yeah, good vlog
The best ever beautiful and modern arm vehicle
after the centauro 2!
@@Ezekiel903wrong, there is nothing better than the stryker. They didn’t deploy those to Baghdad, they handpicked a Stryker brigade.
@@deacongowan909 wrong, I think the Centauro better! they performed extremely well in Irak, Afghanistan, the Lince was even bought by Russia!
Thanks!
I remember coming into area in Tikrit to setup our howitzers and coming under fire. Marine LAR came in behind us and wiped out the resistance.
You should thank god talibans didn't have lancet otherwise your squad would be decomposing lol
@@august4215 you should thank God that you were not in the line of fire, lol
@@august4215Strykers EASILY defeats anything the Taliban throws at them. Marines are weak, it was Strykers that stopped a civil war in 06 in Baghdad, not the Navy’s infantry in the marines.
These are so cool
Awesome video! ;) :)
PS. What I didn't know is that it is based on a Canadian model!
Awesome👍
I only hope the Army thought of the forward logistical personnel who brings the beans and bullets to keep this great fighting force ready to fight.
The mgs can shoot on the move, yeah. If its shooting forward
Looks impressive
One thing I don't like about it is how tall it is, I feel like it should have been a lower profile. With practically no armor it just seems a bit too big and out in the open. However an upside to that is a comfy interior.
These are the Great Grandchildren of the original M113 Track that I used to drive in the Vietnam Era. Their profile is very high and I hope they do not have that aluminum armor the old M113 had! I hope these have better heaters than the old one too!
US love from Philippines❤❤❤
Respect from your humble NATO ally - Bulgaria. It seems we'll be ordering and getting a decent number of the M1296 Dragoons, as well as other variants backing it up. Love the 30mm Bushmaster and its turret. Looks like a solid machine.
The 30mm is a beast. That was a very good choice by your government.
Love from USA 🇺🇸❤️🇧🇬
The Stryker is a great vehicle .
Once it's on a road
It's not raining
And it's not under fire😂
Under fire? Obviously you’ve never deployed in one that eats IEDs and small arms and asks for seconds.
Name a single better vehicle.
Good videos
thank you
The beast,of vehichele 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍
⭐️ US ARMY COMMANDER BADASS ARMORED FIGHTING VEHICLES MILITAR ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖🪖😃😃😃😃😃😃👍👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Awesome
How wood the new 50mm. Gun in development for the Bradley work on this platform. I think the ammo standard would be great for all.
A Stryker would be great for home defense.
Impressive machines. Why didn't they make them amphibious? I know they operate well in urban, desert, snow and jungle theaters so an upgrade to make it amphibious will give it a much longer reach.
Maybe Strykers can also be airlifted or transported by c130 or globemaster for overseas operations
Does it have 360 degree/Nightvision camera like vehicles nowadays?
There are reports that several of these are burning on the steppe around Rabotine (Ukraine).
Since the Stryker is derived from the Canadian LAV III which already has a M242 Bushmaster 25-mm chain gun in a two-man turret, why did the US Army opted for the M2 .50-cal machine gun as the Stryker's main armament instead of the LAV III's existing autocannon?
They are used more for anti-infantry. Higher rate of fire, cheaper ammo, lighter, etc. They have a 30mm version as well
Because that cuts into your passenger compartment. And that makes it an IFV. And IFVs are meant to carry infantry in a unit that has tanks. The Us already has IFVs. It’s called a Bradley. AT THE TIME The US didn’t need a wheeled IFV meant to rapidly tear through existing roads for units who would otherwise just have thin skinned vehicles to do that job. They needed a truck with more armor. So they got a wheeled armored personnel carrier.
Because of troop space as well as strategic mobility.
@@kolinmartz they still don't need a wheeled IFV. The .50 cal is just fine.
The marines have the two man turret. There’s a another turret they were fielding that was remote. Doesn’t take any space from the interior and as all the ammo is up there it’s marginally more survivable.
แข็งแกร่งและดุดัน❤
he can go on the battlefield, but he can't hide. an easy target for an intelligent hypersonic missile
Incorrect
You won’t hear it to shoot at it and then it’s too late because you’re dead because the Stryker easily takes you out.
Cool !!
WOW very nice
The drone killer one is the coolest version. Bet russia wishes they had something similar!
That was impressive, they need to add that tech to war ships
@@AmazingJayB51 it will. Navy is already looking at point sefense lasers.
Which variant was used in that Call of duty mission?
I found my Zombie apocalypse vehicle. Does it have fridge for beers ?
Could you list more numbers in sequence please...😂
Now who would have thought that the 105mm auto loader was going to be a PROBLEM? Someone who was a BAT in the 2nd ACR and worked in nuclear power plants as a Steamfitter welder that worked on every automated valves throughout the industry. 4 men crews should be a standard for many factors on a MBT's this video just proved it.
Biggest issue with the 105mm was chassis cracking when they fired high velocity rounds. The medium speed squish head bunker buster ammo didn’t have that issue.
A lot of tanks from across the pond have autoloaders nowadays including the Russian ones, yeah sure if you hit them in the hull they'll cook the ammo off but then again, the entire point is to shoot first
haha he can windstand only wind. they are very good like fireworks!
Are these made in London, ON?
OMG that's nice. Show us the inside!
Brutal!!!
The 50mm auto cannon seem to put lots of stress on the rear suspensions.
That’s why they’re not used.
It's a 30mm on the dragoon.
The 105mm mobile gun system variant is on its way out in favor of the new 30mm variant which seems like the better choice for this kind of vehicle.
The 30mm isn’t new.
@@chrissmith7669 I could say the same for the 105mm
@@JoeGamer500 they had a habit of cracking Styker chassis during the 105mm firing I’ve read. I Love the idea of them as breaching tool with squash head rounds.
i would equip theh Stryker M1134 ATGM with the Canadian ADATS system, who can shoot air and ground targets, i think the UK also developed some of such missiles ...
Amen meaning so be it Amen 🙏💞🙏🙏
This is not a "Fighting VEH". It is a lightly Armored Troop Transport.
I am in love 😍
Lancet said Hiii
Everything is best when used against inferior enemies
We need to up grade our tanks & missile defense..
How many mortar rds does the Stryker carry for the 120mm and 81mm mortars ?
All of them
Plenty.
The MCV variant doesn’t carry any 81mm mortar rounds. It only shoots 120mm, it carries about 62 rounds in the rack. Mostly HE rounds

@Patrick Perez thank you brother, I appreciate the answer. When years were you in ? I was in 02-08
@@bleekskaduwee6762 I’ve been in since 2020 😂 still going
Meet the breadbox. Tankers hate it. It stands up in defilade begging to be shot.
From what ive always heard the Stryker wasn't always the most reliable vehicle when it came to maintenance and bring driven in the field, but one thing for certain it's the most versatile.
Everything is truth be told.
That 105 would certainly shake a few bolts loose.
That's what I hear about literally every combat vehicle, aircraft, Navy ship, etc etc. Is there ANY vehicle that can take a constant massive beating day after day after day in a literal warzone and NOT need constant maintenance?
It's being driven hard and fast over harsh and varied terrain every single day, taking fire and returning fire, with multiple fully-equipped soldiers hopping in and out of it all day... It's gonna need a lot of maintenance.
Even a rifle, which is a very basic combat machine compared to these, needs to be cleaned, oiled, etc. constantly if you're actually using it.
I think it's just a natural state for mechanics everywhere to bitch about everything and then every vehicle gets a reputation when in reality it's just the environment they're operating in.
My favourite vehicle in call to arms game and act of war game
You could purchase rheinmetal air defense system and mount it on stryker! That would be an awesome mobil air defense Stryker. Just a thought!
There is a test version which mounts the avenger AA system to the truck.
Josh Gates talkin bout some military muscle over here 😅
Intense
Really Great Army USA
Would build a drone launcher to add to this tool kit.
Cmon, when anyone away anything for free. Trust me, there strong stipulations to those aid packages.
How huge it is, an ideal target for RPGs and Cornet !!!)))
And which vehicles with similar capabilities are smaller?
The slat armor stop RPGs. Educate yourself before sounding stupid.
does it comes with tamiya version ?
That freaking "Galaxy" can carry SEVEN of these things??? ...and I thought the C130 was "big"!...
These need to be the next soccer mom family vehicles
Cevlar hemp boat covers. Crows nest. Turrets. Like a hunting blind. Blind.
Some people say its awful, some people say its the best thing ever.
I’m in a Stryker battalion it’s amazing weapon so easy to maintain and badass
They were relied on pretty heavily during “The Surge” on 2007.
Whats the difference with Pirahna V??
wow
Had a LAV, (MECHANICS)..Roll off (brakes, E8 VALVE )29 Palms, CA...OOPS, SQUISHED a poor fellas car, while he was in the field. We repaired the fence, & got him another car a bunch of us fellas, pitched in,called in favors & from the Salvage Yard where we on our "off time" practiced shooting through car doors & stuff made his squished one erased. Got him another (better one) with A/C! Not new, but "way better", totally registered on base, smogged,. Base stickers .etc...before he came outta the field. Nobody said "shit" about the incident. He shouldn't had that P.O.S. on base to begin with, but MARINES, we take care of ours.
Metal fodder 🤩🤩🤩
If used wrong. In its oropper roll. The stryker is pretty good.
nice
How's this compair to the Patria?
The Rooikat kills this thing dead.
