Michael Keaton best captured the essence of Batman. He just didn't look the part that many people wanted. But his acting is second to none. None. I think Christian Bale looked the part but there needed to be some tweaks to the story to make him moodier and more torn. Maybe in the 3rd movie, it was his best performance of Batman with his injuries and loss. I love watching Michael Keaton. One of the most underrated actors. And yes.... Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman..... When we saw the trailers back in the day, there were a few people waiting to see her in that outfit... 🥰 Wishing you a happy new year lady! Joy and success!
Not only did this masterpiece release in 1992 but another Batman masterpiece released in 1992 and it's Batman: The Animated Series the greatest adaptation of Batman ever. I highly recommend it it's definitely worth the watch it's the best superhero show in my opinion Marvel should take notes.
my fave animated series!!!!! And then X’men. Not sure if u saw my lil insert of Harley and Joker in this video from the animated series (my fav joker voice Mark Hamill!)
1992 was a good year. Another case in point. Michele Pfeiffer got me, as a kid, playing the " damsel in distress," of course, no husband in sight before her metamorphosis to becoming catwoman.
This was my first Batman movie that I saw. Imagine going from the Adam West TV show to this? :) While I liked it I think I was too young at the time to completely appreciate the sheer Tim Burton-ness of this movie. But I have grown to appreciate it more as I have gotten older. Great reaction! :)
Thanks for watching!!! Ya I feel like I rarely saw Adam Wests Batman. But I just loved everything about this movie as a kid!! Thanks for watching! Fun to read visit a fave I haven’t seen in a while!
@@holddowna Ames! You gotta watch the original 1966 Batman movie starring Adam West. It was filmed between seasons of the campy TV show and it is so much fun!! For more Michael Keaton check out his first film appearance in Night Shift. He steals the movie from the leads Henry Winkler and Shelly Long! Happy New Year!!
This movie is truly Tim Burton unleashed, everything he wanted to do he got to do it. And if you love this movie you gotta watch Tim Burton's film "Ed Wood" if you haven't already seen it.
@@holddowna Have you seen Big Fish? It is Tim Burtons ”Forrest Gump”, it is wonderful and although it is a funny movie you will ugly cry at the end, trust me, I do every time :)
This movie brings me back to a really happy time in my life. I was a young boy, at my Father’s house for the weekend. My step brother and I watched this movie on a snowy Saturday, went sledding after, made hot chocolate and watched it all over again. It became a classic “fall asleep to” movie of ours on weekends at Dad’s! My Dad, Alan, passed away in 2010 at 47, I was 25. I miss him all the time, but have very fond memories as well. Memories of even little things like this movie and how it involved being at my Dad’s ❤️🥰 Super excited to see this reaction!
I’m happy they brought back Michael Keaton’s Batman in the new Flash, just to see him in the role again in that suit. Also, the first Batman is great. The Joker throwing money while blasting Prince is 👌
Yeah no matter the faults of that movie I think that was Keaton’s best turn at the role and any fan of his movies should def watch it if they skipped it
Fun fact: Tim burton couldn't cast Michelle Pfeifer as Vicki Vale in Batman 1989 because Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfiefer dated then. Michael felt uncomfortable sharing the scene with Michelle as Catwoman, despite they broke up. Their screen chemistry were on point! Loving your reaction, actually!
You have good taste in favorite movies. Saw this in the theater so many times. The opening credits (whole soundtrack actually) music and visuals gave me chills in the theater. The only safe place in Gotham being Wayne Manor. That Siouxsie and the Banshees, Face To Face song...oof. Great film.
Now I am curious of your thoughts of The Flash movie. I always loved Burton's universe. I love the old timey aspects of it, the fedoras, the old cars. It made Batman's gadgets more impressive, they're not so impressive as modern age tech. This is one thing that carried over into the Animated Series which is what truly got me to fall in love with the character.
also i want to specifically support that you are doing a commentary and not just a "first time reaction." i hope it will succeed in the algorithm and that we get share your other favorite movies.
This is the first Batman movie I've seen. I was too young, but my dad was a huge Bat fan. It also introduced me to Christopher Walken, who was a big crush in this movie. Again, I was TOO young to see this. 😅
just saying, as my grandparent just died and she had her fathers army issue horse whips from the first world war, so we were cleaaring the house and tried out the horse whips in the garden, cracking a whip is the easiest thing in the world to learn if its a proper whip and not a movie prop, i proper whip you cant fold and loop up, its 10foot long and 6foot is stiff like a fishing rod and its the piece of 3inch string on the end that makes crack.
Burgess Meredith who played Penguin in the 66 tv series was supposed to play Penguin’s dad for this movie but couldn’t due to health issues so Paul got the role.
Great reaction, Ames!!! You're the best!!! ❤🥰🌹 I heard Danny DeVito tell a funny story about when they made this film. His wife, Rhea Perlman, brought his son and daughter to the set to visit him one day. They were pretty young, and they were terrified of the Penguin, not realizing it was Daddy in a costume and makeup. Danny DeVito had to switch to his normal voice so the kids knew it was really Daddy. Then they loved the whole thing!!! 😊
Live in the burbs and work in the city (Chicago), and have spent the better part of 2 decades living, working and wandering this city. Every time I’m over by Tribune Tower I go behind the 401 N. Michigan building, between there and NBC Tower, and look at the building view. It’s one of the spots in the city where when you stare up it instantly hits you … wow, this IS Gotham. Then head down the stairs to lower Michigan and you see the seedy underbelly of Gotham, I totally expect to see the Batmobile screaming down lower Wacker, across the bridge while chasing some baddie. There’s 4 or 5 spots like that where you’re just instantly hit by this creepy GOTHAM!!! feeling.
This movie grew on me throughout the years...I love that it's one of your favorites, tells me a lot about you 😍 You are one of my favorite video reactors as I appreciate your honesty (plus you're easy on the eyes, hee-hee!) I wish you the best and please have a safe and happy New Year 🥰🥰🥰
I've always thought that when penguin says "i was their number one son and they treated me like number 2" that it was a play on words. Number two son and number two as in bowel movement. Always loved this movie so much. Have a Happy New Year.
This was one of my favorite films growing up (still is)...and it was great to know that someone else would watch this film but fast forward through the opening credits too lol
Fun facts: Max Shrek was supposed to become Two-Face if Tim Burton got to carry on with the franchise, but he knew he wasn’t going to keep making Batman movies, so he just killed him off. Also, Michelle Pfeiffer had to be sewn into her Catwoman costume, so you really don’t want to try that as your halloween costume. Makes bathroom visits difficult. I think she also got close to dehydration/heat stroke in it because it didn’t breathe. But she did get proficient enough with the whip to have decapitated all those mannequins in one take.
@@holddowna I feel dumb when I comment early in the videos only for it to be addressed later. Also, I think that news boy in the beginning was the guy that played Roach in The People Under The Stairs. He’s also a McPoyle on Always Sunny. At first I thought it was Liebgott from Band of Brothers. But the guy who plays Christopher Walkin’s son also played Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw. If you’ve never watched Hudson Hawk with Bruce Willis (which is a slapstick comedy) that guy also plays a big dope code named Butterfinger.
Glad you & others loved it, & is all that matters, but being born in '71, raised on the comics, the original tv show reruns, & cartoons, i was hugely disappointed in all the sequels to Batman '89, which i liked. I dont remember a thing about them. Id like to one day revisit them as im open-minded as can be, but mainly boiled down to all that A-List fire-power that ended up boring me to tears! I'm a visuals guy (art director) and Batman Returns has some of the best production design I've seen in modern movies. The whole gothic/art deco inspired look of the film. Batman's new sleek suit (inspired by 1930s/40s automotive designs) and Penguin's makeup... all stellar. It's such a visually stunning and polished movie.
You’ve got the right look, hair, and eyes for an old school Batman (TV show) Catwoman. I believe there were two different actresses that played Catwoman back then, and I remember they were both, prrretty much purrrrfect in that role. Movies to watch if you haven’t seen them... 3 more from 1989... The Burbs Dead Calm Uncle Buck 3 more Michael Keaton... Johnny Dangerously Night Shift Pacific Heights 3 more Danny DeVito... L.A. Confidential Throw Mama From The Train Twins 3 more Walken Antz The Dead Zone Puss In Boots (1988) (it’s live action, not animated, and it’s also the most enjoyably fun movie that I recommend, that no one seems to know about. Maybe I’m the only one that likes it.) 3 more Michelle Pfeiffer... Dangerous Liaisons Scarface The Witches Of Eastwick Thanks for making videos eh. P. S. I think the reason Penguin was so irresistibly drawn to Catwoman was... she ate a lot of tuna fish. Mmmm... tuna breath.
I was OBSESSED with this movie as a kid! I had the trading cards, posters, shirts.. Everything from the opening scene, to the theme etc etc just makes me smile. ❤
It may be the case that Selena seems unhinged because she's still shocked and reeling from her new sense of freedom and confidence, not to mention the fact that she died but not just died, murdered by her boss. If you see her facial expression, it's like she's in on a cosmic joke or has an understanding she didn't have before.
I like Tim Burton's style, but I wonder where Johnny Depp is in this one. Probably before their business relationship 😛. What Tim did here was merge Christmas with a gothic Halloween feeling but the Halloween elements aren't obvious. It also works for me because in victorian England Christmas was a time to tell scary stories, like Halloween.
One of the darkest, violent and most controversial Batman movies ever made. The reason why it was controversial is because that some McDonald's restaurants refused to sell any of their toys to a movie with a PG-13 rating.
My favourite Batman movie hands down. Christopher Walken has been my favourite actor for many years. And yes, Michelle Pfieffer did actually put a live bird in her mouth!
Walken is so good at playing diabolical that his corrupt businessesman is more sinister than the iconic Batman villain. Also, he's named after the actor who played Dracula/Orlock in Nosferatu. Shreck means fear (I think) in German.
Saw it as a 12-Year in the Cinema and it was life-changing Experience. Obsessed with Batman since and Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman is maybe the greatest Performance in any Comic-Book-Movie. Tim Burton's Masterpiece for sure. Yeah it's different to the Comics, but the Worldbuilding and Characters are fitting perfect to the Burton-Style.
Cant say i owe everything, but definitely shaped my 12 year old self. My parents were super Christians, and for some unknown reason, they let me put up a poster of catwoman (it even had the "hell here" in the background). So my friends from church thought i was the shit. My parents basically let me put a dominatrix michelle Pfeifer on my wall.
I approve. I used to have the cardboard display from the cinema for this in my apartment. And yes, I got a bullwhip and learned to use it because of watching Pfeiffer swing it at the security guards. And it is hard, yep. If anything it is an example of going the distance. And all the gripes from fandom's now neglect how beloved this was in it's day and how inspirational it was long after. A lot of cues from this became codified in the franchise forever more. I did bother picking up DeVito's comic book "Gotham City Villains". In it he returns to the character and wrote sort of an alternate future for the character and Selina, one that showed a lot of love for the character he original crafted. And speaking of people who put their all into their work. Keaton is an actor I can always watch for his performance but Multiplicity I? Meh. Story I mean. A friend found the meaning of life in that movie and insisted I had to see it. He was fun but I could take or leave the rest of it.
"This is my favorite movie of all time... I've only seen the first Batman like maybe twice." Are we the same person? The gigantic Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman poster I have says we are.
When they came out with this catwoman was transitioning from being more villain to being something between anti-hero and villain. There was a plan for a carwoman movie where she steals but also stops a violent crime. I don't remember what happened to it but I remember someone talking about it years ago.
The movie was put on hold at the time of the changes of the Batman franchise when they dropped Tim Burton for Joel Schumacher. By the time it got the greenlight again Michelle Pfeiffer had dropped out.
There are an insane amount of versions of batman that's why there's so many different actors play him he's part of Bruce waynes imagination, he can't loose, he's everything he wants to be, and every verson always starts with a double murder
They just did it right with this one. The casting was perfect. The writing was inspired and seemed tailor-made for the people performing. The visuals, from costumes and props to sets and lighting, seemed to be pulled directly from Tim Burton's brain, which says a lot for the communication and respect that each group responsible had for each other. It's dark, but with just the right mix of humor to keep from feeling too heavy. e: Not only was the "bird in the mouth" shot real, it was done in a single take.
Danny DeVito likes sushi so all the raw fish he ate was real. The black gunk oozing out of his mouth was a form of bile made by the makeup artist Ve Neil, she used mouthwash with red and green food coloring. The film had a lot of animals 20 cats, 42 real penguins (30 African penguins, and 12 king penguins), the Gouldian finch Michelle Pfeiffer put in her mouth, the Red Triangle Gang snake lady’s ball python, the poodle lady’s little poodle, and the organ grinder’s spider monkey.
Selina Kyle becoming Catwoman is one of my absolute favorite scenes. Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance is so powerful and backed with the music which is so tragic and unsettling but also thrilling - absolute brilliance! She’s my favorite live action Catwoman. I also really appreciated Camren Bicondova’s portrayal in the tv show Gotham.
Too bad her costume was vacuumed sealed. Creates a lot of issues but made the film even more worthy after so many decades. Lots of temptations to delve into . . .
5:42 "I know, it was _really_ hard to get used to all the _other_ Batmobiles, in _Batman Forever_ and _Batman & Robin._ I've only seen that, like, a couple times." 😳 You've watched the '97 movie more than _once?_ That puzzles me. I mean, I understand watching _Batman Forever,_ more than once. That's actually a pretty good movie, and a demonstration, if you ask me, of the kind of kick-ass work Schumacher can do when he doesn't have the production company breathing down his neck about making the Dark Knight family _friendly._ But Batman is _not_ a family friendly character. In 1939, he came to the comics world as someone _dark_ and _gritty,_ and he resonated _instantly._ But then, in 1966, there was an attempt to make him family friendly in a live-action TV show, and it ended up making him _silly._ And, indeed, this was the image _I_ grew up with up until the '89 movie reintroduced him to the world in the dark, gritty circumstances in which he has always thrived _best._ The '92 movie and the '95 movie both did _justice_ to that, but the '97 movie was _another_ attempt to make him family friendly that, again, ended up making him _silly._
I working at a movie theater when this was out: We got to pre-screen it (as what was typical back when films stlll arrived on 35mm prints), there was a cardboard standee, and a few posters..but the sucky part, like ALL movies, we never got to keep the posters because they were sent on to the next theater, along with the film....4 years, not a single poster! omg. The cardboard standee for Terminator 2 took us like all day to build..
This movie tanked Sean Young's carreer. She wanted the Catwoman role badly, and went a little nuts. She appeared on talk shows dressed in home made costumes, sent several videos to Tim Burton, .It bordered on harassment.
Oh man! I didn’t know who that was! Ppl just need to say “finkle is einhorn” cause I haven’t seen seen dune or Blade runner lol sad… but I still think they got catwoman right
She was originally cast as Vicki in the first Batman but got injured rehearsing for a scene that ended up being cut from the movie. After she got replaced and the first film became a HUGE success, she felt slighted she wasn't even given a chance to audition for the sequel so she went on her talk tour as the OP said haha.
I have that iconic Catwoman poster framed on my wall as well 👌 She is a total queen, pretty sure Catwoman was one of my first crushes. Also, you’re right, Michelle Pfeiffer had to be stitched into the costume every time she had to wear it.
3:50 - Selina Kyle is a great example of female empowerment, Ames. The look on Max Shrek's face when she turns up at the office after he thought he killed her says it all!!! 👏👏👏👏
Great reaction! I remember seeing this AND the first film in theaters! “Batman Forever” is a lot more campy compared to the first 2 films, but still fun. “Batman & Robin” though? Ehhhh…you wouldn’t miss anything by skipping that one…unless you wanna just watch it for the lulz, lol
Yes! The cinematic art of the city was incredible. It was gothic and slow, had an introspective and sad sort of feel to it. Now, that Vicky Vale line is in the movie because after the first one came out, comedians and critics ripped the first batman a part for allowing her into the bat cave.
This and T2 were the first two movies I remember being so hyped for before long before they were actually released. I had the first movie of each franchise on VHS (when I was way too young to own them) so when I heard there were sequels coming I was ready. Everything about Batman Returns just looked so cool, the set design is amazing, the cast is great and it has the perfect balance between camp and the dark realism of the later Nolan movies. It's still my favourite Batman movie because it's just fun.
Yes! What I realized watching it again (it’s been a long time) is that the penguin is actually soo hilarious and has just as many great one liners as catwoman! I used to ffw to all of her scenes because I was obsessed! There is something special about it. I haven’t seen T2 since I was little I cannot wait to rewatch it as an adult!
@@holddowna T2 is one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time so you'll no doubt love it. The weird thing is I also had it on VHS which I watched over and over again. It wasn't until nearly 20 years later that I realised there was an extended cut, which I think has now become the standard version. I actually think it adds so much more to the movie, I'm pissed I never got to see it until so much later.
If you intend to rewatch Batman Forever and B&R, I highly suggest first seeking out Batman '66 - the movie from the Adam West Batman show. It's colorful and campy and very much the vibe Schumacher was going for in his Batmans.
I remember as a kid, I loved this movie so much, that after I saw it in theaters, I wanted a VHS copy sooooo bad. When it came time for Christmas, I put it on my list and gave it to every family member who asked. I ended up getting around 5 or 6 copies of the VHS tape, and my dad got mad at me LMAO. It wasn't my fault, I just told everyone the truth when they asked me what I wanted for Christmas. XD
So, there were actually plans for a Catwoman spin-off movie starring Pfeiffer, but after Tim Burton got fired the project was sidelined to see how well Batman Forever would do at the box office. When it got picked back up a lot of the script had aged like milk (it's actually been leaked and can be found online; it's *_very_* 1993 and could never be filmed now; even back then it would've _needed_ just the right director in order for it to come across the way it was clearly intended, because in the wrong hands the delicate balance of tongue-in-cheek and sincerity could've easily gotten twisted into something a lot less playful and a lot more vicious) and the film got stuck in development hell for a decade before finally turning into the Halle Berry Catwoman movie.
This was always my favorite movie even when I first saw it as a kid. I’m glad it’s getting the appreciation it finally deserves, yes it was made more for mature audiences because of the deeper tones, Dark Gothic and structural classism that it represented in some ways, But this was truly some of Tim Burton’s best especially when it comes to the representation of Gotham city, The villains were multidimensional, Batman actually took a backseat which was kind of cool. I think of this movie were made today it would be very celebrated, Again glad to see it’s getting the applause that it deserved back 30 years ago.
34:11 I just noticed a mistake in the subtitles: when Catwoman goes in for the final kill, the subtitle reads, "How about a kiss, Santy Clause?", but she actually said "Anti-Clause" which makes more sense, in context.
I feel like this movie is getting more and more appreciated over time for how good it is. I've always preferred it to even the 1989 Batman.

Wishing you a happy new year lady! Joy and success!
I'm not sure if this is my number one favorite but it is really one of my very favorites. I'm so glad you see how great this movie is.
I fell in love with Michelle Phieffer in Grease 2 first. Long before this came out.
I haven’t seen Ed wood!
@@holddowna It's wonderful.

@holddowna You must see it! It's a masterpiece! As well as Tim Burton's best film.
Aww thanks for sharing matt! Very special. Sorry about ur dad, gone too soon!

I’m happy they brought back Michael Keaton’s Batman in the new Flash, just to see him in the role again in that suit.
Also, the first Batman is great. The Joker throwing money while blasting Prince is 👌
Yeah no matter the faults of that movie I think that was Keaton’s best turn at the role and any fan of his movies should def watch it if they skipped it
They brought him back to kill him over and over again lol
Fun fact: Tim burton couldn't cast Michelle Pfeifer as Vicki Vale in Batman 1989 because Michael Keaton and Michelle Pfiefer dated then. Michael felt uncomfortable sharing the scene with Michelle as Catwoman, despite they broke up. Their screen chemistry were on point! Loving your reaction, actually!
love the commentary throughout your favorite batman movie, Happy New Year and your whip training.
Can’t wait to get that whip 💫
You have good taste in favorite movies. Saw this in the theater so many times. The opening credits (whole soundtrack actually) music and visuals gave me chills in the theater. The only safe place in Gotham being Wayne Manor. That Siouxsie and the Banshees, Face To Face song...oof. Great film.
FYI Max Shrek was the name of the actor who played the Dracula like Count Orlock in Nosferantu.
I've always loved that the Penguin's parents were played by Paul Reubens and Diane Salinger, Pee-Wee and Simone from Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
Love this fun fact I just learnt!
There’s 4 or 5 spots like that where you’re just instantly hit by this creepy GOTHAM!!! feeling.
Thanks for your great reaction. Your unapologetic delight in this movie was really fun to watch--made my day.
Thanks for watching. I am LOVING all the comments on this video! Y’all have made my day as well!

@@holddowna Thanks! ...oh, my condolences on your cat Angel btw...ok, I'll leave you be now 😁
I've always thought that when penguin says "i was their number one son and they treated me like number 2" that it was a play on words. Number two son and number two as in bowel movement. Always loved this movie so much. Have a Happy New Year.
This was one of my favorite films growing up (still is)...and it was great to know that someone else would watch this film but fast forward through the opening credits too lol
If you haven’t seen the Witches of Eastwick, run don’t walk. Michelle Pheiffer, Jack Nicholson and other great cast!
You cracking a whip on cam:a priceless moment in the making😊
Fun facts: Max Shrek was supposed to become Two-Face if Tim Burton got to carry on with the franchise, but he knew he wasn’t going to keep making Batman movies, so he just killed him off.
Also, Michelle Pfeiffer had to be sewn into her Catwoman costume, so you really don’t want to try that as your halloween costume. Makes bathroom visits difficult. I think she also got close to dehydration/heat stroke in it because it didn’t breathe.
But she did get proficient enough with the whip to have decapitated all those mannequins in one take.
Yes! I read fun facts about the movie at then end! They vacuumed her in! It’s nuts!
Christopher Walker's character is Max Schreck, which is the name of the actor who played Nosferatu in the original silent film.
I'm sure i would've enjoyed it more if they used unknown actors & wasn't expecting so much!
Sucks for me!😅

Penguin has a lot of really nice things for someone living in the sewers for the past 33 years with out of work circus folk
I've always wanted to cosplay batman but still haven't gotten to do it. I got to cosplay zorro though which was cool
So cool! U must do Batman! Maybe I’ll see you at comic con one day! 🤣😭
@holddowna I will. I plan on it. And yes I do plan on going to San Diego con one day. I'm mostly been going to the one around Chicago for years
You’ve got the right look, hair, and eyes for an old school Batman (TV show) Catwoman. I believe there were two different actresses that played Catwoman back then, and I remember they were both, prrretty much purrrrfect in that role.
Movies to watch if you haven’t seen them...
3 more from 1989...
The Burbs
Dead Calm
Uncle Buck
3 more Michael Keaton...
Johnny Dangerously
Night Shift
Pacific Heights
3 more Danny DeVito...
L.A. Confidential
Throw Mama From The Train
Twins
3 more Walken
Antz
The Dead Zone
Puss In Boots (1988) (it’s live action, not animated, and it’s also the most enjoyably fun movie that I recommend, that no one seems to know about. Maybe I’m the only one that likes it.)
3 more Michelle Pfeiffer...
Dangerous Liaisons
Scarface
The Witches Of Eastwick
Thanks for making videos eh.
Wow!! So jelly! I did not have those things!! I cut apart and sewed an undershirt for a mask and used my bros karate belt as my whip !
@@holddowna I still have the cards. Omg I can see you doing that too. 🤣🤣🤣
my favorite movie is a little different but also a Christopher Walken movie, King of New York (1990) by Abel Ferarra
There’s something so goofy and charming about these older super hero movies that I just love 😂❤
Totally!!
That scream in the beginning would make Draiman from 'Disturbed' proud.
It may be the case that Selena seems unhinged because she's still shocked and reeling from her new sense of freedom and confidence, not to mention the fact that she died but not just died, murdered by her boss. If you see her facial expression, it's like she's in on a cosmic joke or has an understanding she didn't have before.
Love this comment
I like Tim Burton's style, but I wonder where Johnny Depp is in this one. Probably before their business relationship 😛. What Tim did here was merge Christmas with a gothic Halloween feeling but the Halloween elements aren't obvious. It also works for me because in victorian England Christmas was a time to tell scary stories, like Halloween.
Yayayayaay! This is one of my favorites:)
I grew up watching this
One of the darkest, violent and most controversial Batman movies ever made.
Love her! He’s soo good in this!
The bird Michelle put in her mouth is called a Gouldian finch (aka rainbow finch) they’re native to Australia
U said it purrfectly!!!
To this day I still do the hand bat the way Penguin does, and say "yawn" randomly when friends are being boring lol
When John Williams passes away, they’re gonna have to make a national holiday of that day. He is,I have no words.🎼💫🚀🎯
Seriously he’s amazing!
Danny Elfman?
Penguin's Father was Paul Reuben... "PEE WEE HERMAN"!
The Franchise really went down when Joel Shoemaker took over for Tim Burton.
"This is my favorite movie of all time... I've only seen the first Batman like maybe twice."
Are we the same person?
The gigantic Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman poster I have says we are.
💫💫💫💫❤️❤️❤️thanks for hanging out with me as I revisit Amy fave movie :) been a while and I felt like a kid on Xmas morning
they were gonna do Two-Face i thought with Billy D Williams being the Harvey Dent they were gonna build up
When they came out with this catwoman was transitioning from being more villain to being something between anti-hero and villain. There was a plan for a carwoman movie where she steals but also stops a violent crime. I don't remember what happened to it but I remember someone talking about it years ago.
She is the goat
The movie was put on hold at the time of the changes of the Batman franchise when they dropped Tim Burton for Joel Schumacher. By the time it got the greenlight again Michelle Pfeiffer had dropped out.
Favorite Batman Movie Of All Time.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love this movie, perfect casting with everyone. Keaton will always be my Batman!
💥❤️
To be fair, it's my dream in life to see you dressed up as Catwoman too.
Lol!!
I’m actually EMBARRASSED I forgot to mention VE NEIL she was the reason I went to make up school so thank u
@@holddowna no problem, she’s a very nice lady, I met her twice at the Motor City Nightmares Convention here in Michigan last year and this year.

Lots of temptations to delve into . . .
I saw this first when I was a kid, to say Penguin was scary and horror like is an understatement..

Yes! Thanks for watching Mike!
5:42 "I know, it was _really_ hard to get used to all the _other_ Batmobiles, in _Batman Forever_ and _Batman & Robin._ I've only seen that, like, a couple times."
😳 You've watched the '97 movie more than _once?_ That puzzles me. I mean, I understand watching _Batman Forever,_ more than once. That's actually a pretty good movie, and a demonstration, if you ask me, of the kind of kick-ass work Schumacher can do when he doesn't have the production company breathing down his neck about making the Dark Knight family _friendly._
But Batman is _not_ a family friendly character. In 1939, he came to the comics world as someone _dark_ and _gritty,_ and he resonated _instantly._ But then, in 1966, there was an attempt to make him family friendly in a live-action TV show, and it ended up making him _silly._
And, indeed, this was the image _I_ grew up with up until the '89 movie reintroduced him to the world in the dark, gritty circumstances in which he has always thrived _best._ The '92 movie and the '95 movie both did _justice_ to that, but the '97 movie was _another_ attempt to make him family friendly that, again, ended up making him _silly._

Yes! The cinematic art of the city was incredible. It was gothic and slow, had an introspective and sad sort of feel to it. Now, that Vicky Vale line is in the movie because after the first one came out, comedians and critics ripped the first batman a part for allowing her into the bat cave.
You should add Ladyhawk to your movie mix if you want to see some Michelle Pfeiffer.
Never heard of it!!
@@holddowna Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer, a medieval love story. I think you’d really like it.
I’ve never seen it!!!
You're so beautiful and cute in this, Hold Down A! As always 😍
I was 14 in 1992 when this was released, freshman year of high school 🙂
This was always my favorite movie even when I first saw it as a kid. I’m glad it’s getting the appreciation it finally deserves, yes it was made more for mature audiences because of the deeper tones, Dark Gothic and structural classism that it represented in some ways, But this was truly some of Tim Burton’s best especially when it comes to the representation of Gotham city, The villains were multidimensional, Batman actually took a backseat which was kind of cool. I think of this movie were made today it would be very celebrated, Again glad to see it’s getting the applause that it deserved back 30 years ago.
It’s important to remember that the Penguin does NOT diddle kids. In fact he sang a song about how he doesn’t diddle kids.
Lol
34:11 I just noticed a mistake in the subtitles: when Catwoman goes in for the final kill, the subtitle reads, "How about a kiss, Santy Clause?", but she actually said "Anti-Clause" which makes more sense, in context.
Always confused on that line!
Best sequels dedicated this one , and The Fly 2.
The Fly 2 as a sequel is the perfect movie.
