  • Toyota to Recall Over 100,000 US Vehicles Over!!
Japanese car maker Toyota has recalled more than 6 million vehicles in one of the largest recalls in the global motor industry. With 27 models affected, its the latest round of recalls for the car giant after safety issues prompted recalls in 2009. Toyota says it's part of long standing policy to act swiftly when defects are found. Al Jazeera's Shihab Rattansi reports from Washington.
Toyota is recalling nearly 100,000 Tundra pickups and about 3,500 Lexus LX 600 luxury SUVs to fix a problem that could cause their engines to lose power while driving.
Nearly 700,000 Toyota and Lexus models are being recalled in the U.S. over a fuel-pump issue that could cause vehicles to stall and increase the risk of a crash. Toyota is working on a remedy that will be made available to customers at no cost to them. Anne-Marie Green has more.
Toyota is recalling nearly 100,000 Tundra pickups and about 3,500 Lexus LX 600 luxury SUVs to fix a problem that could cause their engines to lose power while driving. In some of these vehicles, debris from the manufacturing process may have been left inside the engine where it can lead to knocking, rough running and, in some cases, the engine stalling altogether while driving.
The vehicles involved are 2022 and 2023 model year Tundras and LX 600s. Only regular gasoline-powered versions, not hybrids, are involved in this recall, according to Toyota. (The Tundra is available in both gas-only and “iForce Max” hybrid versions.) Toyota has not yet determined a fix. Owners of the potentially affected vehicles will be sent a letter by the end of July telling them that Toyota is working to figure out a solution. Once a repair has been determined, owners will be instructed to take the vehicle to a Toyota dealer for free repairs.

I understand some dealers have stopped taking Tundras for trade-ins.

I've been a Toyota customer for decades. I had planned on purchasing a Lexus LC500. Quality control, fit and Finish issues, and management issues now plague Toyota. Instead, at the same price point, I will purchase a Porsche.

They can’t meet emission standards in the US. You can thank your government for that one.
