We were together 8 years then apart for 3! We kept in touch during the breakup and stayed civil, but never spoke about our personal lives. Then finally she messaged about seeing me and we started up again. Everything seemed different in a good way. She was more open and relaxed, it felt like we moved on from so many of our past problems. Then about a year in, the old "her" started creeping back in. About another 6 months go by, and she dumped me again thru a Facebook message.
My ex is now in a rebound with someone who has been up front with her that he is not monogamous. I truly believe she thinks she is going to be the one to change him. SO sad to see what she has become

When I’m thinking logically I can definitely see that she is not the person for me. She has also lied many times during our relationship. My dumper ex told me he fell out of love with me and not just with me but everything in his life and that he needs to be alone because if he stays he will ruin me. He told me that I didn't make it to the end of his story but my 'page' will remain one of his favorites. And that's nice but it still hurt. Literally month before his decision he was talking alone with my dad about marrying me. We were dating for 3 years and he proposed to me literally 1 and a half year before leaving me. I know everyone has the right to leave and I respect that, I just feel so stupid because we both treated each other well and etc and he just dipped out of nowhere. Oh also found out he shares a playlist on spotify with his ex (they broke up 6 years ago and had no contact since then so I feel even more embarresed) one month after the breakup. Subconsciously most of the time both dumpers and dumpees hop into rebound specially after a serious long term relationship and then boom!!! one day you wake up and realize you was just trying to find yourself all along. This is real and it happens Subconsciously because I been on both Dumper and Dumpees side plenty of times.

I been on the dumper and dumpee side plenty of times and understand both psyches. We are humans and you can't expect for someone to not try to move on at some point. Been there done tht. Once you hit a certain maturity, it's about what the heart wants and ignoring is the reason why majority are growing old and miserable living with regrets because they lacked emotional maturity and intellect.
I would argue rebounding in any context is the very apex of the lack of emotional maturity.

What are your thoughts on monkeybranching/rebounding to a long-distance thing. My ex-wife is 37 and mokeybranched to a 19-year old back in june. This person live in Michigan and we live in idaho. He has visited multiple times but I am almost positive they are both on their best behavior during this time and I suspect things would deteriorate rather quickly if by some chance in hell he were to ever move here. I think it's highly unlikely. I don't know if it's still going on or not as I haven't talked to her since the divorce was finalized in Dec. I ma just focusing on myself and being alone...reading...gym...and raising our son on my own. He no longer talks to her.

My ex walked out in the middle of the night after we have been together and lived together for 21 years. She said she needed to go stay with her brother to work on herself... we did have what seemed like a great relationship we still went on dates a few nights a week. We were intimate still 2 times a day or more, even the night she left. I found out on Facebook that she was seeing a girls dad that she works with one week after she left... its been two months now and im trying my hardest to keep myself together. She still keeps calling and acting like everything is fine and asking me for help with money and working on her jeep. I cant believe someone could betray me like this lying to my face that she loved me every single day and it makes me wonder how long this has been going on. I know he just got out of jail and is a felon, i have no criminal record and have my life in order. Messed up and it hurts the worst that i cant alow myself to ever take her back after this. She text me around 29 days for the car payment because my car in her name and she came over to pick up the money then ask if she can come up to talk to my daughter then came into my room after talking to my daughter then we talk about how we working on ourselves then she left. Next day text me about are AAA renew next month she’ll let me know how much. What you think about that?
I think shes keeping it business buddy. Unless she engages you in reconciliation talks, try not to entertain the possibility of reconciling. It has to come from her, assuming she is the dumper.

She broke up with me but i did cause the break up. Waited some months for some contact and found out she has been dating someone for some short time before i reached out. Long story short, have been able to talk to her for more than an hour yesterday, after she blocked me an entire month, and just let her know to Think about getting back , telling her i know the mistakes i made. She says she has to process this new information and the she Will Think about it.

So my ex broke up with me the past September, I was in no contact until she broke no contact a couple days before my bday. We talk for a couple days and we talk about getting back together however she kept saying she needs to work on herself and yada yada yada. Sounded like some b.s to me tbh. Then she went radio silent on me for 10 days. I didn’t hear a peep from her. Then my sister tells me she’s out on IG showing off she’s at the club with some dude smh 🤦🏻♂️ the next day she texts me “hey I’m going to jump from a plane I’m going to put u down as an emergency contact in case something happens “ I couldn’t believe what she wrote me smh I didn’t reply and I haven’t spoke to her since. I heard through the grapevine she’s seeing someone else. So no matter what if she decided to come back I couldn’t take her back. Ultimate betrayal. 6 years down the drain smh good thing I never texted back though. I’m pretty sure she was trying to breadcrumb me to see if I would reply

@The Love Fix the situation. My partner always mentioned the time difference and distance were issues. As a generally anxious individual, over the course of our relationship, she talked about how her mental health was deteriorating. She started dating a coworker now after 2 weeks. After we broke up, she told me that she loved me (since we never expressed those words directly to each other during our relationship) but the current situation was what made her end things. After finding out she had a partner (that she was speaking to someone) I told her my goodbyes and went NC.
@The Love Fix broke up on Dec 27th and been in NC for around 3 weeks now. Been working on myself and removed her from discord. She recently removed me from Steam (a gaming client). There is no way to contact each other anymore.

Today we have 30 days NC, she started to watch my instagram stories for a week, started posting story selfies with herself almost daily like she wants to attract my attention, but i dont watch her stories from my personal account to not breach the NC rule somehow. And i dont know what the hell is going on😅😂. I kinda want to know if she is in a rebound just to move on and if she will reach out to reject her without remorse but i cand get any information about her relationship status at all. Almost 2 yrs for me
Is it a rebound when they started talking 1.5 - 2 months after we broke up and aren't 'serious' but are talking a lot every day, hanging out, and sleeping with each other. 3 months after the fact she tells me 'maybe' it's going to become serious but isn't right now?
3.5 years together. The breakup because of long distance and because of that, the feeling of 'being in love' faded. Small fights felt so much bigger and even though when we were together in person things were great, that love feeling faded. Even after the breakup she has told me she loves me, has love for me, still has part of me in her heart. She tells me she misses me, that she still has all my gifts and pictures, and thinks about me every day. I was an important part of her life, and she won't forget me. I taught her so much about love and she never felt the love I gave her.
Yet she did not want to try again, she gave me chance after chance to fix what was going on during the relationship and we had those conversations, yet I still didn't. She is very anxiously attached, and I wasn't giving her the attention she needed. I was dealing with some depression and definitely could have done better; I've reflected so much and am so mad at who I was in the last couple months of our relationship. She told me that it was both our faults and we both could have done things differently but can't change them now.
While she still says she has feelings for me and is attracted, she is trying to move on and be happy.
Rebounds are about where someone is emotionally. It has very little to do with tilt.
