    Love it! Such an amazingly cool looking truck, yet so innocent. Man, that feeling when I remember how I was staring at these cars for hours in catalogues as a child. 😇

    This was my first hobby grade R/C back in the day. Raced it at the track many times against Losi and Associated trucks. Regret getting rid of it, so purchased another one a few years back that is mostly complete. It is just a shelf queen right now, but plan to install electronics to drive it.

    Luke I'm a huge fan, I've watched all your videos! I love the job you've done on this truck. My friend had one when they came out and he jumped it off my deck and it went into the septic tank hole while we were having septic work done, the truck was covered in raw sewage and had to be fished out. Lol...Just a little constructive criticism, you had just a tad too much editing in the beginning of this video, we love hearing you talk you shouldn't have to edit at all... anyways, we need more guys like you in this hobby. Keep us entertained with new builds! maybe an Rc10T or rc10gt next? Looking forward to the next video.

      Joe Hutchinson first thanks for watching and commenting. Means a ton. Sorry to hear about the sewage tamiya must of been stinky 😆. So on the video editing-I’m a no frills kinda guy video maker that just wants to deliver the goods-I have to keep videos 15 min max otherwise it run nearly 1 hr -nobody would watch and would take a year for upload so I have to cut and sew. Also I try to do a new build every couple weeks and complete each build on the next video so that’s just two videos for each car/truck not 3,4,5,6 videos on the same. Crazy thing I do believe me-i’m usually done by each completed series-hence why nobody else does it. This gives my viewers an exciting new rc experience quickly. Sorry If videos a little choppy at times but it’s really about content for you guys. Let’s face it “we just wanna see it done already”. Wife states. 😆

    Awesome restoration! I would kept the esc with standard Tamiya connectors to keep it even more nostalgic! Thanks for all the tips!

      @LukesVintageRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, so i just wanted to squeeze out the best performance out of the esc. Truly easy for a reverse for total nostalgia as you mentioned. Thanks

    Looks great! Good idea with the rear guard, you have a great eye for details like that. The commonplace torque tuned motor suddenly because a great point of visual interest!
    I managed to get one of these quite cheap a while back that was covered in dust and dirt and I did a thorough strip and clean of the chassis and transmission (original Tamiya bearings in the gearbox still worked perfectly!) but after I did all that, I realised it it was in really decent condition. It seemed like it had been barely used. What I thought was the dreaded faulty transmission turn out to be a loose motor pinion!
    It was in such good shape that the idea of running it just felt wrong and knowing how much I love to run stuff, I decided to sell it on rather than run it and get road rash on the chassis etc.
    I have another one now that has had much more use and the transmission is faulty so I'm going to fix it up and install the transmission from an Ansmann Mad Rat buggy which is quite easy to do and is vastly stronger. The team c tc02 transmission works too I think along with the Team associated RC10 stealth.
    Funny thing is these trucks are supposedly super tough apart from the transmission.

      Very good information on some transmission choices. Absolutely awesome truck otherwise. Thanks 🙏

    Biggest problem for mine was the tub snapped by the steering in colder weather.$45 bucks a tub! Ended up going to RC10T. I've been looking for one of these for a few years now it was my first NEW honby grade rc car, 1990. I forget how I defeated the rear diff because I was running a 16 turn Trinity with no issue.

    Love this truck !
    Defo looks great with the brushed aluminium details 👍
    There are carbon washers available for the sand scorcher which is prone to similar gearbox faults,
    there maybe some available for this one to ?
    Best of luck, keep up the great work !
