Classical Pugilism is my main focus but I do love Savate and went out my way to learn a bit love this stuff

I just happened to practice savate early on, so when I jumped into HEMA, I started collecting old savate books. As a hint, The boxing the most influenced Savate is roughly Owen Swift's era (not swift himself, necessarily, but that particular couple of decades). But yeah, I love the English stuff too. At this point, I could nearly entirely recreate wing chun with English and French boxing and wrestling.

@@BlackSunBoxing That's extremely fascinating I grew up never really in the boxing gym but learning from multiple friend and family who have so I started with Queensbury but being a history nerd I found out about classical Pugilism and started studying it mostly on my own and with my little brothers help who I've been teaching boxing anyway.
My birth dad's mexican but was adopted by my french grandfather and that's what got me into Savate tend to struggle with kicks from the back foot but picked up lead leg striking pretty fast 😂
But yeah historical Pugilism is my main focus also played with backhold wrestling for a short time but kinda dropped it I heard a rumor about a catch wrestling guy around me and I've been looking into finding him because I'm interested in learning that . Also actually respect Wing Chun my personal rival started as a Wing Chun guy

That’s cool, I use a similar sweep that I kind of made up. I change leads go southpaw, I use it when someone uses more of a side stance.

Easier for me to sweep that jab step when we are southpaws to orthodox
