He’s so good when I’m with him but the second he’s alone he destroys anything he can get. The wall, the carpet, my little brothers toys, chairs, literally anything
My boy is the same way! I left him alone in my room to go make dinner since my baby brother had fallen asleep on the couch and I didn’t want him to wake him and jump on him. Came back to my carpet, phone charger, laptop charger, and much more destroyed!
@@MautiseBoswell102 same. I have 3, and only the golden has this issue. It doesn't matter how many or what kinds of toys and such I get him. He just doesn't care and waits for me to start working before destroying something
Mine has plenty of thing to chew on, still decided to chew up a pillow during the night... Excuse me for sleeping and not entertaining my dog. I"m so mad...
My mom puts my dog in my bed in the morning when im asleep, last night i had my airpods in and forgot to put them in the case, my dog ate 1 of my airpods
I read that lemon zest (lemon peels) and water in a spray bottle works as far as a spray to use. It also leaves a nice smell in the house and repels fly's, roaches and ants.
My 8 month old Shephard mix puppy does this, recently she tried to chew the water pipe (plastic) Ive learned wear them out to where they are relaxing when you have to leave them, or train them to be alone and don't need attention 24/7 for example. put your dog in the area that they destroy the most and start there (Luna's problem is outside), leave the house/room with door closed and wait 5 seconds if they stay calm and don't get into it praise them, if they do Scald them redirect them to what they can chew and do it again.... Luna's record is 8 minutes..... then she ate the pipe..... I can leave her in the house and nothing gets destroyed but the smells, sounds, sights and what ever might be outside gets her wired up. I hope this helps you if not Im sorry.
I wish.. my dog will eat me if I won't move for 5 minutes. She is super cute but awfully obsessed with food. She will totally ignore everyone once she sees food (except the one holding the food)
I grew up the same way as a dog cause my parents abandoned me but not the dogs. So chewing like a dog is very typical for me, that’s why I am watching this video for myself.
My dog doesn't chew just anything out of boredom, she chews things or get up on the furniture whenever I'm not looking. She knows what's mine and purposely goes to chewing them. Like a person who knows what you like and to spite you they break the things you like.
@@gabym255 by giving her timeouts if she keeps getting up on the couch or chewing the wrong items even when I give her the toys instead. And then rewarding her with treats or pets when she would lay on the ground or in her bed, and would chew her toys. It took months to get her to stop, though. She started acting up at 3 months and got a lot worse around 5 months old. And didn't fully stop until close to a year. She is now about to be a year and a half. it definitely helped with her getting older as well.
I don’t even have time to watch this video because my dog is chewing my wires, the shoes on my feet, and my carpet while I’m trying to watch this video
I walk my dog 40 min in the morning, 30 minutes at night, given him a long with food, naturally she'd antlers and raw bones and have tried hot sauce. If I leave for even five minutes he's chewing on something. He loved hot sauce now
Maybe your dog needs a good 70 minute run, the walks might not be enough. With my last dog I used to get a tennis ball and wack it off into the distance as far as I could until she got tired and was panting or had enough this was plus a morning run. She was a Kelpie though. Walking wouldn't have done a thing for her, unless it was a nature walk, beach walk or a hike that took a few hours and was something new to explore.
My dog already chewed my... 1. 4 smartphone chargers 2. Our Led Tv Cable outlet 3. 2 pair of converse shoes 4. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge 5. My college thesis Ughh 😔😭
Denver Savariz OMG! I literally have no couch in my living room because my dogs ate 2 - YES TWO sets! It’s almost Thanksgiving and I’m getting desperate because I have to buy another couch set but looking up everything to get them to stop eating them but I do think I have found my remedy though, I noticed everything I spray white vinegar on my stair banister, the bottoms of my dining room table, and chairs and the wood entertainment center, they no longer chew on! I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed!
This looks a lot more helpful than any other video I've found My pup has been so wonderful but I think she's getting bored and has started chewing the couch
I know this is the best one yet ....I have been watched quite a few.....I really wanted to know the "why" it helps me understand my dog instead of just being mad at her...
@@jinisteffani8035 What I ended up doing was I got one of those giant cow leg bones and used wood screws to attach it to a fence board. I set the couch on top of the other end of the fence board and it gave my dog a large fixed object to chew on.
I have an Aussie.... super active dog.. I give her hour walks, play fetch for a good amount of time & puzzle treats while I'm not home! We even got her another companion dog to tire her out! this doesn't stop her from destroying things. She certainly has to be doing something 24/7 or she chews things up.____ .
We have left her with many toys, including puzzle toys, chew bones etc She chews books etc We adopted her from the Humane Society- she was a three strikes dogs, adopted 3 other times and returned for chewing dry wall, door handles, window trimming. We thought that getting her with a calmer dog, routine, more exercise would help. It hasn’t consistently helped. There is nothing consistent about what she chews. We put things up and then she finds something new.
Well, this isn't a " dog site", Monica..This is TH-cam. This insanity came up in my sidebar when I was watching videos of dog owners who refuse to clean up after their dogs, which is a huge problem in the rural area where I live..I saw this craziness and felt compelled to comment, as I cannot get over how dog worshippers put up with dogs who bite people or destroy vast amounts of personal property, There is simply no reason for this..There are many dogs out there who behave perfectly and they should be the type of dogs people are seeking out, not these mentally challenged head cases, like a 3 strikes dog, which should have been put down after the first issue..I also think it is cruel to keep dogs in cages all day long, they are better off being euthanized than living that way, it's sickening..They never should have been domesticated and removed from the wild in the first place. They are filthy, destructive animals who only do anything for anyone who is their food source. This is in their nature. I mean, come on, they eat their own feces and lick their own junk all day and if you died in your house, the dog would start to eat you( this has happened many times) proving they are incapable of love, as most misguided dog owners insist they are..I don't understand the attraction, other than it is an easy relationship for people who want to completely control something else, rather than forming a healthy give and take relationship, as they would with another human being.
Good tips. My recent rescue that I have had 9 weeks now is a 4-year-old puppy. He was a stray prior to me getting him, and he has no manners or household awareness. He only started chewing on one particular door jamb this week. And he must be doing it while I am sleeping, since I have been working from home for the past 3 weeks, and I have never caught him in the act. So I went with some hot sauce and a little cayenne pepper on said door jamb, which he sampled and was not quite sure what to make of it. But I think he dislikes it enough to leave the door jamb alone now.
My English cockerspaniel puppy for the past 3 weeks destroys anything cardboard or paper. We have training matts for both dogs to do their business on but she prefers to destroy them and then ends up doing her business on the floor! Very frustrating but I shall try some of these methods.
Thank you so much! This is already working with our Great Pyrenees/Boxer guy. He gets SO bored when he's "minding the flock of sheep" which is actually just our cat who is mostly sleeping. Thanks.
So I'm dogsitting for a friend. I took her for a 2 mile walk this morning. Then this afternoon I put her in her crate so I could do a couple of errands. I filled a big hollow bone with peanutbutter and put it in her crate with her. Instead, while I was gone, she shredded and destroyed her dogbed. Then when I got back, descided to lick / eat her peanutbutter bone.
My dog destroyed: Jacuzzi cover, 4 expensive outdoor chairs, paint set, croquet set, multiple tools, 13 year old rose bush, dug 14 holes bigger that a basketball, destroyed watering system for entire house, destroyed sod, my life. Don't get a dog.
I think the best remedy is enough exercise. I just don't have time for more than 1 hour of exercise. Most people don't, I just hope that as they grow older my puppies aren't as energetic. Right now they're bouncing off the walls sometimes. Crazy puppy energy
my dog has 10+ toys and YET SHE CHOOSES TO CHEW THE COUCH , my mom got really mad and wants to give her away because she destroys everything she sees , i want to get her train but they are costy
My sons dog has never been chewer I always had toys for her . He moved took her with him . He brought her back 3 months later he couldn’t have her where he was living . I basically raised her the first year of her life . She is now back with me . She has picked up bad unwanted habits ! 1 chewing when she’s alone . Is this a bored dog ? Or separation anxiety? How do I break her of this ? She has shredded two dog beds . Started on furniture . I sprayed bitter spray seems to have worked but has went through several rugs . Any suggestions ? I have never had a dog that destroys things ! I’m at the point I don’t know what to do or how to deal with this behavior! By the way she is a pit bull mix . She is digging up my yard . And thinks my bed is where she sleeps ! She is a good girl when I’m home . Very sweet and loving . I don’t want to re home her in fear she will be used for the wrong things . And don’t want to hand her over to the local shelter . She wouldn’t understand why plus they do euthanize her I need help. Any suggestions?
My grandparents puppy has ripped up the entire couch and all the tables and chairs, obviously they’re old fashion and go to hit the dog as discipline so it’s in my hands to try and fix the problem, what should I do for a dog that chews up a couch specifically?
If youre having problems with destructive chewing, before you leave the house give him a bone or a food puzzle (destructive chewing usually happens when youre not home). After a while he/she wont do it anymore. Remind yourself that youre dog does this because he is bored which does not mean its youre fault he/she just needs stimulation.
I'm super late on this my dog has destroyed almost 4 beds and its really frustrating her bed before her new one was sprayed with a spray to keep her from bitting it but it eventually was destroyed along with her $70 recent bed only lasted for 3 days its hard not to get frustrated with these kinds of things
I hear you, I just gave up on dog beds. What's the point if they are just going to destroy them? I even tried the "chew resistant" expensive one. Lasted 2 days..
@@Humboldtcounty707i have 2 d9gs the same age, brothers actually. One of them is good and doesnt destroy anything. The other has been a nightmare. Hes always fighting with the other dog. Chewing up everything. I hate the idea of having to take away the bed from the good dog cuz of the other dog that is destructive. I ended up seperating them. One gets a comfy bed. The other one sleeps on the floor now. No beds for him.
@ISILENTNINJAI my dog got 2 beds and a crate matt destroyed and pissed on the matt the 1st night no more after that idc if your comfortable at this point
We have a blue heeler pup that we play with and give attention to (for hours) before bed, when we go to sleep, she'll selective destroy mostly my clothing, papers, and Tupperware. She knows this is wrong, but it's like she has too, even though we leave out toys, bones and chewing sticks for her (and our other older dog).

I trained my bostonterrier sense he was a puppy and i trained him to chew on stuff i tell him he can chew on, but not to chew on stuff i didnt tell him he could. I also taught him drop it and leave it. This is such a huge challange bc im not there to say no
There are obviously other reasons why dogs chew. My friend has a pit bull that is scared of wind, storms, and fireworks, etc. This dog is not bored. She's a freak! In a panic this dog chews and scratches through fence gates even completely devouring 2x4's. There will be blood spots everywhere for her mouth and paws. They even used metal flashing on the gate and this dog still destroyed the gate. This is some sort of nervous condition.
Brett 2ch Santucci I believe it I have a pitbull 2 yrs old and there was a storm while I was away at my parents he was in his crate during this time well I come home 3 hrs later to find the crate destroy he broke out chew thru walls he must of though I was in my room I now have no door and about $3000 in home repairs he also chew thru internet cable and tv cables he had toys puzzle ones snack and bones on his crate untouch he was super scare of the storm he also didnt stop until I lay down with him and place him like a baby where u couldnt here noise as much
Sad thing is he'll play with it but he'll just piss on his toys and not play with them anymore so not trying to stop him from chewing things up I NOW have to stop him from pissing on everything he owns
Can they outgrow this destructive chewing? We have 2 dogs in the house but there's only one who's very very distructive and i have observed most of the destructive dogs are females.
My dog just ate pieces of leather chairs in our dining room. My wife hasn't seen it yet and when she does she's gonna fucking kill him. I honestly don't know what to do anymore.
When I first gotten my (now 5 yr old) Beagle Sheltie mix, he had food aggression& Separation Anxiety, (former pound puppy, and when his previous owner adopted him, as a puppy, he was kept in a tiny kitchen all day while she worked), he still has the Separation Anxiety, but he also will chew if someone is in the room with him, but not directly interacting with him, (like if they are sleeping). I have gotten him plenty of chew toys, and a crate, but he will still chew first chance he gets. When you said "Clean Up", we would have to put the whole house up, for he will just find new things to chew. We have a crate, however I think he's had a traumatic experience in one, cause he HATES it. Is there anything we can do to stop him from eating us from house and home? We use his Kong, but he always works food out as soon as we give it to him.
We have a boxer mix. Boxers are have boundless energy. :/ She chewed up the sides of a table, patio screen, and shoes. I have been playing with her at least an hour a day.. we try to take her on walks but she tends to chew the harness/leash . And my family was thinking to get her a crate or taking her back to the pound. I don't want her to go to the pound. Crates can be expensive so I try to remember not to ask for anything so we can have enough money for a crate , if we can't get a crate my puppy would cause chaos in my house. I don't like to hear people fight. So I'ma try teaching her how to walk with a leash or get a spray bottle and fill it up with water, that way she won't be taken to the dog pound. I don't want her to become an unfriendly dog. So hopefully this would help 😊
Crates, even big ones, can be gotten for $20-ish at thrift stores, on Craigslist, and sometimes at the local animal shelter. On Nextdoor or Craigslist you can even see if someone has one to donate!
Raw bones have worked for me. Toys get destroyed quickly and puzzle toys are not the best when I’m gone for hours at a time. When the dog does this excessively, a crate and a raw beef bone helps and then of course keep training when I’m home. Time out when it’s caught in the act.
It's a great lesson, just not for my dog. She figured out how to open my bedroom door and destroys my clothes, phones, earbuds, chargers, and decorations. She even tried to eat light bulbs a couple times (that are in plastic tubs). IDK what to do at this point...if I put her in a crate she dumps the water and pees, poops, and/or pukes. And she destroyed the door and wall of the room we tried to leave her in. We just deal with it because she great when she is with us
wow, you are really patient. My friend just gave me her tiny spitz, she reached her limits after the dog ate the corner of her mattress when she was at work. She has eaten shoes, phone and laptop electric cables etc etc. So far at my home she has only eaten my HDMI cable...
@@Tanouuuu she is a very friendly and loving dog but when she is left alone she becomes destructive. My other two are way less destructive, they occasionally will chew up the bathroom trash or a set of blinds.
how will i be able to implement the hot sauce for my dog to be able to stop chewing on his training pads? should I put just a little under the training pad or...
Long story short. Dogs are a full time job. If you work long hours or even any job in general expect your dog to destroy everything. Its impossible to keep your dog happy unless hes sleeping or your with him 24/7
I got a dog 3 months ago. Originally he was just a foster pup a lady brought me cuz he was her son's and he passed away. He's amazing great with my kids cats and 1 dog. He listens he's wonderful on leash. BUT he chews. Shoes, kids toys, my husbands hats loves the hats. My other dog never chewed even when teething but now he does. We tried the puzzle kongs but they got into it. I can't and won't ever rehome him he just love us and we love him. But I mean now I have a love seat missing a cushion....
I put my dog in a crate, but the thing is when I come home she looks like she basically tries to kill herself, like I see shit everywhere with blood mixed in it, or when I came home her nose was really messed up from trying to get out.
Hey i adopted a 2.5 years old lab retriever dog . He is destroying furniture ,tearing bedsheets when I'm absent . I also provided him toys but he likes to destroy other things . Really giving me tough times. 😥
lol ok but nothing works for my dogs. walking, training, toys, puzzle toys, going for runs in the hills etc... nothing works. they get left alone for 5 mins and my bed is gone. I'm almost to the point of rehoming them.
people here complain about how their dogs ruin everything they own, sometimes totaling thousand of dollars and you want to call me the retarded fuckhead? GFY
I don't know if you rehomed them. But after exercise. You must establish rules in the house. If your dog is going crazy and destroying things. It's because they've already established a pattern. Just be consistent and it can be undone.
My dog only chews things when left home alone (which is only couple times a week), and I always leave her with puzzle toys with food, yet she still does it. I even make sure she pottys, has exercise, and food toys before I leave. And it's usually only my shoes. I am lost
My two (adopted) dogs will fight over food. Nothing else has created trouble between them -- but bones/food sare a disaster. I have to feed them separately. I am afraid, while I am away working for 8-10 hours, it is a bad idea to leave food toys with no one there to monitor them. Only one of them is destructive chewing. She is not deterred by bitter spray at all. Any ideas -- on "non-food" entertainment for her?
So my uncle used to be a dog trainer and if his dog chewed something, he’d take his thumb and place it on the dogs tongue and press(not that hard) and his chewing habit quickly went away. I tried that with my dog but he continues to do it. I know every dog is different, but it’s hard to be patient. Any recommendations?
Please help, I have a small dog and he will steal and chew everything in sight, even if it’s metal or material he will swallow it. He has swallowed a metal clip and I don’t know what to do and I’m worried for his safety. He is extremely clever and can do many complicated trick but somehow I cannot teach him not to chew stuff
I know it’s my fault for bad supervision but it’s frustrating that my dog keeps biting up the toilet papers. In my houses restrooms, the toilet paper holder tends to be pretty low which, a medium size dog like mine can reach. He destroyed the first roll this morning, and another one around 1. I punished him by not giving him any treats and self isolated him for 10 minutes. He did it again just 10 minutes ago. I’m so frustrated that I don’t even know what to do. I feel like my head is about to explode.
This better work. They’ve ruined 3 couches, chewed up the corners and trim of the walls and dug big holes all over the backyard. I’m usually a dog person and have never had any issues with dogs, but my wife’s dogs are just terrible. Last night I was making BBQ for our friends here on base for a small get together. They jumped on the table and began eating the BBQ right off the table. The first time I was upset but I figured “well they’re probably hungry I usually feed them this time a night, so I get their bowls and as I’m filling them with dog food, I hear a loud slam. They jumped onto the kitchen table again spilling my beer everywhere and began running around in it. And this morning I went to go take a shower, literally just like 20 minutes, came back out to check on them and the living room is destroyed. Mud EVERYWHERE, couch stuffing EVERYWHERE and they pulled a bunch to the back yard. Also we get noise complaints because they bark all the damn time. I swear I’ve never had this problem with any other dog I’ve had. I’ve always tried to cut them some slack and often blame myself, but this is getting out of hand. These two dogs are heavily weighing on our marriage. We love these dogs, but they’re making our life a living hell.
Is it common for dogs to chew hot spots on their tail when they're bored? My GSD, has been doing some destructive chewing with her bedding...I took that away and now its her tail. I had to put a cone on her but she still gets to the spot and made it worse. I now thinks its behavior rather than allergies now
My foster dog who is about to go back to the shelter because she has done over 2k worth of damage in just over a month. She leaves play toys with food still in them to destroy All my shoes & three pairs of my sons ( she can open the wardrobe & all the doors in the house, has gone through a window to get in ) she has gone through three sets of sheets several dozen pillows my mattress. She doesn’t do it if I’m awake at home but if I’m asleep or out she is just purely destructive. She goes on a long on and off the leash walk in natural forest every day. Obeys me for everything else, sit, stay, lay down, wait, move etc. I don’t want to take her back to the shelter before I fix this issue as no one is going to put up with such a destructive dog. I have tried chaining her up when I go out, she has a tiny head so if I get the collar tight enough to stop her slipping it I’m worried she can’t breath properly. I’m at my wits end and need some advice. I haven’t been able to catch her chewing much when I’m around or awake but she has been told ‘no’ very firmly & drops the item seeming to have no more interest in it. Please help, I can see her being put down because she is just too costly
Okay so i know people say that dogs don’t really know what they did wrong if you come home and yell at them for chewing shoes but what are you suppose to do? And i’m pretty sure they do know that what they did was wrong cause when i come home and a pillow is chewed i pick it up and immediately my dog/puppy looks guilty. How am i suppose to discipline him? There is nothing for him to get into because i “clean up” and i’ve tried bones and such but he always grabs anything, today a cushion and destroys. any advice?
our dog is a German Shepherd puppy called Ranger He chewed up the bed frame, he chewed up the stairs, he chewed up the wall in my brother’s room, he chewed up the couch, AND HE CHEWED UP MY GYMNASTICS LEOTARD When he is home alone he also barks and whines :( I think he has separation anxiety. Can you help me!
I always tell folks that have this issue that their dog does this to expend pent up energy. Most owners who's dogs do this, don't walk their dogs, don't play with their dogs, and don't provide toys or activities for their dog. A tired dog will have no energy to do things like this.
There are street dogs in building underground parking that are ripping bike seats. Recently i bought a new bike parked in the basement and next day the seat was ripped. What do i do with this ????
I disagree with the raw bone verses cooked bones comment. I gave my pit bull a raw bone and she ended up with an obstruction and almost died. I have never had that problem with cooked bones.
Most of the people complaining that these things don't work probably don't walk their dogs as much as they should, and if you can't take time out of your day to make sure they get the proper mental stimulation as well as exercise, you shouldn't have a dog period. If they are exhausted from play, work and training, you won't have as many issues with destructive behavior. I just realized this with my pup. As of late, I've slacked on her exercise and training, and she's become destructive which is out of character. My fault, not hers! I'll do better.
BeautifulFrancesca shut the fuck up... I do that shit I walk my dogs for an hour I play with them and I train them my whole room looks like a tornado struck my house because there is chewed up cords, shoes controllers
Sounds like walking isn't enough buddy. Try teaching them fetch, walking is fine for my min pin, but fetch is is the only thing that'll tire my more energetic pit bull out (other than a jog, but I hate running)
I'm having the exact same problem did u get rid of it and if u did how. I got lazy because I have been in a bad metal state since we got him and Ive been to exhausted to walk him but I have been lately because he's gotten to the point where he's gone through 8 beds within a few weeks but we bring him inside when it's time for him to go to bed and he whines all the time so my dad gets extremely angry at him to the point that he wishes he never got him and hates him but he has a very short temper and it's been really stressful lately but it's such a brain strain on us all do u think u have any suggestions
BeautifulFrancesca I walk and hike my dog everyday and he still chewing thru walls and crates any recommendations I dont knw what to do with him anymore but I love him
My wife and I walk our dogs four times per day. Once in the morning, once at noon, and twice int he evening. My wife runs 1.5-2 miles during the morning walk. I walk 1 mile with him when I return home from work and around the block at night before bed. I also rough-house with him daily after our first evening walk. My dog is never interested in puzzle toys. But I suppose your anecdote is representative of every dog and dog owner.
Well I have a female Alaskan Malamute she’s only 6 months old and she reaches pretty much everything around the house now. Nothing is safe I’ve lost 3 pairs of shoes my bed frame is all chewed up my furniture my doors are all scratched up my tv and directTV controls don’t work anymore . I can’t leave any food around the house or it will magically disappear. Every day she destroys something different.
I've got 2 year old mix breed of Jack Russell and Manchester terrier, female dog, we always walk her like 1 - 1,5 hours in the dog park to run before we go to work. Still from time to time having periods to chew the walls or the tables. Tried with Tabasco, hot chillie pepper and dog spray, she ate them like it was something normal, we buy her a lot of toys and put dog food inside some of them, still doesn't help and we even tried with a restrainer of her mouth, still she managed to take it off and eat it. Any useful other tricks for this Tasmanian devil???
hmm good. just put a kong in the freezer. I've just adopted a dog from the spca. had her a week. she's 10 months and a staffy mix. she is crated but when she is out she has just started chewing the rug. hot sauce doesn't work. I'm putting her in her crate as time out. I just some training with her and as soon as we stopped she chewed the rug. so back in the crate. she has chew toys that I rotate. how long til she gets it ? help.
My dog has chewed on so many things that I don’t even remember how many things she’s destroyed. She tore up some old couches in our garage that were going into storage. She ripped a poster that belonged to my aunt that was important to her. She has chewed up bubble wrap, cardboard, paper, shoes, socks, underwear, etc. my dad is a carpenter and he uses something that goes on first before the carpet. She ripped up almost three rolls of that and the rolls are longer than a car. She’s a smaller sized dalmatian. I can keep going but if I do I’ll be here for a very long time
My dog hasn't chewed things up in years and now all of sudden it's all the time....I feel she's mad at me for something...I don't think it's a separation issue as I work full time and over time...always even during covid and she was always fine...something is going on with her.....
Hi Alex! Please help! For the past week or so our almost 4 month puppy has been chewing and eating his wee wee pads. I tried redirecting his attention with treats and play, but after running around for 20 mins he still goes back to chewing the pad. We are not sure what to do about it as bitter spray might interfere with him actually going on the pad. Hope for your advice!
Same happening to me. When im home he does his stuff on the pad. But when i come home from work. Or leave him alone for couple of hours. He has taken the pad out, a chew on them. Getting frustrated. Dont know what else to do.
My dog just likes biting and chewing random stuffs like pillows or furnitures, I couldn't stop her even if I give her chewing toys and bones for her to bit, but she doesn't likes those, instead she just kept on biting and chewing pillows an making them torn up. My dogs' breed is Golden retriever, because i don't think Golden Retrievers are supposed to be like this
My dog is a 5 year old rescue I put him In the kennel when I’m at school but he gets my blanket through the kennel and tears it up. He’s done this to 4 of my blankets he has his ball, his stuffed bunny, and moose. So idk at this point 🤷♀️

me too, she won't eat until we play and run around for a few minutes

My boy is the same way! I left him alone in my room to go make dinner since my baby brother had fallen asleep on the couch and I didn’t want him to wake him and jump on him. Came back to my carpet, phone charger, laptop charger, and much more destroyed!

I read that lemon zest (lemon peels) and water in a spray bottle works as far as a spray to use. It also leaves a nice smell in the house and repels fly's, roaches and ants.
My dog just goes around while I'm away and just tears up all the cardboard and paper towels but not anything important

My dog is worse and it’s dangerous for her she chews up wires and stuff and plastic and if she was big enough she would eat th ewhoke house
I grew up the same way as a dog cause my parents abandoned me but not the dogs. So chewing like a dog is very typical for me, that’s why I am watching this video for myself.
Tried everything you suggested, even the spray, he just keeps chewing around it.
My dog doesn't chew just anything out of boredom, she chews things or get up on the furniture whenever I'm not looking. She knows what's mine and purposely goes to chewing them. Like a person who knows what you like and to spite you they break the things you like.
How’s your dog now, has she/he improved :)
@@gabym255 yes she has actually, thank you for asking
@@CoLdBITeR how did you get her to stop? How old was she back then?
@@gabym255 by giving her timeouts if she keeps getting up on the couch or chewing the wrong items even when I give her the toys instead. And then rewarding her with treats or pets when she would lay on the ground or in her bed, and would chew her toys. It took months to get her to stop, though. She started acting up at 3 months and got a lot worse around 5 months old. And didn't fully stop until close to a year. She is now about to be a year and a half. it definitely helped with her getting older as well.
I think it's more than boredom, anxiety. They chew your stuff because you're the comfort
As soon as i saw dog trainer on the back of his shirt. I knew i came to the right place
🤣 I was thinking the same!
I don’t even have time to watch this video because my dog is chewing my wires, the shoes on my feet, and my carpet while I’m trying to watch this video
Why is this so true
I'm in the same boat! When I'm around, he's an "angel", if I leave for more than 10 minutes, he chews up SOMETHING! Little B@$#@D!! 😀😭

Christina Hyke try crating with a toy unside when you leave. Your dog can't chew on other things.
and what sane person adopts a 3 strikes dog? This beast should have been exterminated long ago..
rye: Sereously? I wasn't going to reply to your comment but changed my mind. Why are you looking at dog sites if that is your best idea to help?
Christina Hyke maybe you can try a large confinement area rather than letting the dog loose in the house

I don't know if you rehomed them. But after exercise. You must establish rules in the house. If your dog is going crazy and destroying things. It's because they've already established a pattern. Just be consistent and it can be undone.
My dog has so many toys and a number of puzzle toys. I've tried bones, he chews on them partially. The dog prefers digging and destroying.

I always tell folks that have this issue that their dog does this to expend pent up energy. Most owners who's dogs do this, don't walk their dogs, don't play with their dogs, and don't provide toys or activities for their dog. A tired dog will have no energy to do things like this.

What if my puppy keeps on chewing on the pee pad?

JD omg😂😂😂
do you mix the hot sauce with water and how mush...
great points mentioned!
You make this dog owning thing so easy ;)
hmm good. just put a kong in the freezer.
I've just adopted a dog from the spca. had her a week. she's 10 months and a staffy mix. she is crated but when she is out she has just started chewing the rug. hot sauce doesn't work. I'm putting her in her crate as time out. I just some training with her and as soon as we stopped she chewed the rug. so back in the crate. she has chew toys that I rotate. how long til she gets it ? help.
let her live in the cage then..or put it out of your misery
Izzy Boo NZ if hot sauce doesn’t work possibly try other rancid flavors like
something very bitter or sour
My dog chews up my wall I’m constantly fixing it so this was great
My dogs' breed is Golden retriever, because i don't think Golden Retrievers are supposed to be like this
Thx dude
My dog is a 5 year old rescue I put him In the kennel when I’m at school but he gets my blanket through the kennel and tears it up. He’s done this to 4 of my blankets he has his ball, his stuffed bunny, and moose. So idk at this point 🤷♀️
